I accept the first people that get there/trade me. People who are dedicated to dung and stay at dmaneim or w/e should get a spot over some person doing something else across the world.

You're basically telling people "Stand at demonhiem and wait for a keyer to start a floor. If you don't, you're obviously not dedicated to dung"

 

Why should I just sit there playing with myself for a keyer to come? Why can't I go work on other skills when the CC is in Idle time?

 

I hang out on world 99 and make sure I have a ring of kinship with me if I want to DG. Although that suggestion does sound nice, you can't force everyone to follow it.

 

Idk, I haven't had problems. Although I do sometimes wait at Damonheim to get a floor going. Idk. I've DG'ed with quite a few ranked keyrs too =O

You failed to get toolkit / rune ess money, occasionally that happens but always go for cash before food.

Also just make 10 astrals 40 cosmics imo. And don't drop coins quite so much since it's an answer for summ riddle, or buy 250 rune ess and drop extras afterwards. Or drop coins @ ht and during first gd grab some. Also helps if you have to buy a novite kiteshield or pot ingredients.

Team messed up on polter thingy.

At 2:50 I would've dropped my gs, which would have saved a few seconds for you since you hit a dewk. (I quickcast & drop a lot though, and I am not saying you should've just left it there if it hadn't been denk.)

Also around 3:20 I wouldn't have taken the GGS quite yet since my team should be telling me once the gd is done, and there were a few doors you hadn't opened on the way to the gd. I don't know if this is necessarily a mistake, might make it better or worse, just what I woulda done.

At 4:10ish I would've asked someone to take the GGS rather than run myself, haha. (Unless I didn't trust the team.)

Around 4:25 idk why you hestitate and look for food.

At 4:30 I would've dropped my GS, not GGS, I woulda carried ggs incase it led to a gd. (Saves 3 seconds)

Same at 4:45. (But someone kindly dragged it for you.)

Also around 5:00 you are in the gd with crt key and you don't use it for a while. You also have a melee pot, which I woulda used right away (although without plate I'd be more concerned about dying & wasting boost, still worth it though I think since you usually get food from gds & you had good pray.)

Around 5:15 I would've dragged ggs.

Also you can eat while running, which is preferred. It only interrupts you if your click is red (i.e. doors/skills) but 'walk here' is good.

Around 8:00 I always give keys at the next gd, so I would've carried ggs to that gd & dropped ggs/keys.

At 8:23 you didn't check the de for keys. Although it would've wasted 5 seconds, keys occasionally hide under monsters in dead ends and if you miss a key you usually waste 5-10 minutes.

At 8:30 you should've checked 1 south of you, and told them to take ggs to boss once they are done gd.

At around 9:10 I would've gone straight to boss and started, not looked for food. Usually people give me it when I ask and most people get encouraged if leader enters boss. If no one was at ggs I would've hted to gate altar but your pray points were pretty good.

 

Also, you did not piety flash at all during the floor. You should.

 

Sorry if this sounds extremely picky, I make lots of little mistakes and I don't usually give it too much thought. Hope this helps though ^^

A bit of a suggestion for the CC when advertising for floors.

 

When you advertise in a floor, only accept people into the team, if they've actually answered in the CC. And from there, it's the first 4 who answered who get in.

It's extremely annoying, and IMO extremely unfair for those who are off somewhere else across Runescape, in another world doing something, who still want to dung. They're in the cc, they see someone advertise a floor and pipe up saying "Oh hey, I'll come!!"

 

They leave what they're doing, they hop worlds....only for the keyer to tell them the team was full...even though the person who went out of their way to get there was the only person in the CC to respond to the invite. They thought they had a solid spot in the team because no one answered. But too bad, just so happens 4 other people were just randomly standing around, and took the spot you came to get.

 

Also, when a team becomes full, please say so in the CC. It's another little annoying thing, when you start heading to damonhiem, because you saw someone advertise, and they didn't get many answers, so you think, "OK, I'll come since their's still a spot open". Only to find out they left a minute ago. Once a team is full, please say so in the CC, so that people don't come a little late, thinking they're still waiting for people.

 

I don't think people should be able to join teams with more priority then others, simply because they were already there.

Firstly, keyers can have preference of who they take on their team based on the overall effectiveness of it(if you already have 4 newbs, it's better to kick one of them for a pro to not get a 40 minute dungeon), so it can't really ever be first to speak up basis anyway. Secondly, all teams want to leave ASAP. I know you don't want to hear this, but the same way you are woodcutting to not waste time, people who wait up there to get into dungeons have a legit reason to have an advantage over those who don't. If you sometimes get there when the team has already left then sorry, but you are wasting other peoples time.

 

As for the dungeon vid, yeah, i kind of screwed up the start of that dungeon, only got a few runes and went into the polt quick only to get totally owned and gate out, though i thought i did all of it. Noone called the room after i had left(i think there was another person in there), and i was too busy making an altar, making myself runes and getting to the other gd to see if someone went back.

Love your keying, but one thing to query:

 

Obviously making ragers did cost us time (albeit very little time as we already had charms + ore at ht).

 

However, without having made them, bosses can sometimes take significantly longer, and can lead to deaths.

 

I understand that to miss out by a few seconds on "sub 20" would be frustrating, but in the grand scheme of things, an extra 15 seconds with a much smoother boss fight cannot be considered a "mistake"?

Thank you very much for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I don't understand one thing though; how did I mess up with the tk + runes? I make 20 astrals + 60 cosmics which usually is enough.

You don't need to cure yourself of poison that many times. And I personally run out of cosmics a fair bit using 60 cosmics. I put 'imo' to state that it's my personal preferance. So I was saying that I think it's better to make 40 cosmics 10 astrals.

Edit: As in doubled 40 so 80 cosmics.

Hey guys just looking for a general feeling here, I've yet to try DG at all since I've come back to RS but I've read through a lot of different guides trying to get a feel for it. Would it be advisable for me to try and move along the learning curve quickly by DGing with you guys from the start or is it better for me to try and get a feel for it on my own first?

Firstly you'll need to start with Dungeoneering to get a feel of what it is.

Play through the tutorial mode from complexity 1 to 6, to get a general gist of what to do (kill monsters, solve puzzles, beat bosses)

Bind a weapon, preferably a 2h sword, of the best tier you can use.

Next, use Tears of Guthix / Lamps / Penguins / Whatever to get up to 50 Dungeoneering to get 2 binds (because playing with one bind is awful)

At 50 Dungeoneering bind a platebody as your 2nd bind (or hood if you're insanely lucky) and start doing dungeons again.

Once you get to 59+ you'll have abandoned floors that this cc's keyers can take you on, where they can teach you various tricks.

Of course, don't be afraid to join the cc straightaway and starting seeking advice.

Gotten about 75-90 so far with DGS. And finally hit all skills 90+ thanks to this lovely clan chat.

 

 

Been working on keying a little bit, but still need work. 32 minutes is my best. Unfortunately I'll be working on 99 Slayer, and won't be Dging too much, however, I'll make sure to throw in some floors during the weekends :D
