Third Bind Guide and/or Discussion.

Point is you have improved dps against ccs weak things and stab weak things. Not it's comparable dps to slash weak things.

But yes, I do think primal baxe + either one is probably better.

It'd maybe be ok if hardly any people had variety in their binds, like in 3bo or something. (Although they always seem to attack the wrong monsters dps wise)

It'd certainly be fun to try though

by that logic you might actually be worthwhile to go with a spear.

it really depends on the stab defense ratings of various monsters.

unfortunately I don't have that information available right now.

What plausible reason would there ever be to bind spear over rapier? giving up a major chunk of your dps for sub-par crush attack doesn't really sound good, not to mention, a spear has just as little slash attack(the primary style for dg) as the rapier anyway, so you'd lose alot. Coupled with ccs, other than the few monsters i mentioned, you would have really great dps on all the other monsters, so from that perspective it might be worth it.

As for the stab def, as rapier has 25% more raw damage, i don't think spear would beat it for stab at any defense rating.

prom 2h+rapier is better iirc

Yeah, you basically NEED a high-accuracy slash weapon in dungeoneering. If we had more binds, a primal maul wouldn't be a bad idea at 120, but as it stands, no.

Primal baxe>primal maul in every crush based attack situation

I don't think that's necessarily true. The Ancient and I discussed this once, but I won't argue about it. I don't have any data.

with str boost and turm it's certainly true. Otherwise it's only true on things you just don't want to crush(say thundy).

Coming from someone who used to use a rapier - it can't do squat on skeletons. I spent more than 5 minutes trying to kill a lv 136 or so skeleton mage with gorg rapier + tactician.

the point of this thread is secondary binds.

It assumes you have a battle axe/2h bound AS WELL AS this bind

Of course the rapier is a horrible solo bind.

Stop using tactician btw, use berserker, so you can use your weapon on both styles with the ring

Ok I'm going to have to get Primal gauntlets to go with my baxe, CSB and SSH.

Just one thing- What's the best floors to hunt for primal gauntlets? Is it 8-11?

Plane-Freezer Lakhrahnaz drops gauntlets, and he starts to appear at f6.

To'Kash appears at f9. Therefore, the best floor to hunt for Plane-Freezer would be f6-8.

I was wondering if a Saggitarian Long/Shortbow with Saggi Arrows should be considered as a 3th bind, since you can still use that bow against Necrolord/Mages/Demons

No; don't bother with sagi long/short

Generally there's at least 1 hhb on your team anyway

And b axe/2h can take down a mage fairly fast as it is with zerker rings & turm flashing

Having a sagi short/long is pointless

Staff users should be chosen to do portal rooms in warped floors if possible.

They should be chosen too if there are any magic puzzles that require boosting.

Oh, what's the logic for staff users doing portal rooms?

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Not that a ccs user really runs out of casts in a floor unless you mage all zombies and skeletons too.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

I'm not 100% sure, but for the portal room - you're supposed to have everybody stand on a specific tile

However, there is supposedly a glitch where if one person stands on the tile and then relogs - the room unlocks

Presumably, this would fill their csb

If you don't mage zombies and skeletons as well, you're not that much help at a GD once other mage-weak monsters are dead. :P

That really only applies when you have a Cele staff. Without that, a battle axe is better on zombies, and all skeletons other then the 154 ones.
