can someone explain the relationships between spores/flakes/etc it all seems very confusing. Flakes can be added to armor bought from the merchant to make the ganodermic armor? or is that stuff dropped from beasts?

 

The 3 new armour sets:

The 3 different levels of beast drop different flakes.

Flakes are sown onto the robes merchant sells to make the 3 new armours.

The armours do not drop as a complete item.

 

The spores are used on the polypore stick to make the staff.

The stick is ONLY dropped by the 280s.

The staff doesn't drop as a complete item.

Been here about an hour, gotten a stick, 1.4k spores, 459 flakes, some watermelon seeds and noted stuff, but most interestingly a yew seed and a palm tree seed (EDIT: And torstol too now, but that's not as different). I think they're gonna drop some too.

 

EDIT: If you let them get close to you and infect you they can turn off your prayers, not very dangerous but something to look for.

It's 5000 for ganodermic poncho.

 

Guess all ponchos will be the same.

 

Then taking a guess I'd say

3000 for legs and 2000 for helms

 

Based on d-hide and all dg craft armours

5 = body

3 = legs

2 = helms

Easy assuming you have 92 slayer & 98 crafting that is; those 2 reqs gonna help keep the prices up.

Plus I'd expect it to have more impact on its closest rival (virtus) than ahrims.

I've noticed the stick doesn't show in your adventure log like other slayer drops?

 

Also, i'm doing a small drop log of the different stuff i get to help you lot out. So far some slightly odd noted drops.

So far my drops are, in about 20 minutes time:

10 palm seeds, 1 magic seed, 1 yew seed, 1 spirit seed, 2 effigies, 3.5k spores, 1k flakes. Flakes sold at about 3m for a small 500.

 

Using cannon, Storm of Armadyl and yak - steel titan, like all melee/ranged attacks, are capped at 30? max.

Any idea what the Gorajian Mushrooms do?

 

EDIT: I'm liking the idea of having them degrade and needing the specific drops to repair it, means that it will always be at least a marginal profit to kill them.

 

One more thing, in addition to 3k polypore spores you need 15k fire runes to make the staff, and they charge the staff.

FYI, I sold them for 6m when flakes only worth like 3.5 so was worth making :)

The staff has a high max hit, I managed to get around 500 with it

 

But it is REALLY inaccurate, tried mbing with it, and hit like twice before dieing.

Made ganodermic poncho, sold for 31m, made staff also, cba to sell it now cause you won't get much, messing around with it.

I sold one to test and got 5,500 gp for it so just sold them all. Made 13.6m Just on flakes, along with 15m for the stick and about 2m on random drops. All in roughly 85 kills. Could get used to these.

As for update. I dont say this as a diss as I actually prefer otherwise but im glad its content that doesnt involve too much time to unlock anything. Its a nice brake from having to set goals etc as that seems to of been back to back such content recently. I havnt had time to go there and wont bother until crowds are gone as a quick exploration however it sounds like a average fine update with things of interest.
