worst scam attempt

This guy said"giving away account to a needy guy" I was a noob at the time so naturally I took it. I was sooo pumped up and ran around the house for several hours(it was a lvl 78 account)  And finnally told my brother. He replied " you idiot thats an old scam and he'll steal all your stuff when you put it on the file! So I go onto the account and play for awile. Then this guy pm's me and asked for his stuff back( full addy (g). So buy then I really start to understand the scam. So I explain to the scammed guy that he is trying to pull the same scam on me as he did on him. So I started having alittle fun. I went to world 1 and luckely enough there was a lvl 100 player mod with full dragon there. So I try all the nooby scams to get the file reported. Yes, arour trimming, staff imersonating, personal questions, and when he said I was getting reported I swore at him and went away. I did the same thing to a lvl 85 guy, until a big lagg logged me off. I've never been able to get on the file since     :P :P :D :P

I was burying some bones I had saved up outside Varrock east bank one day.. And this kid comes up to me and says:

Him: Hey. I'm jagex staff. We have chosen you to become a player moderator!

Him: I just need your password!

Me: Okay, here! *********

Me: Whoops.. Sorry, I forgot that Jagex blocks your password.

Me: Can I get back to trimming my armor now?

He just walked off after that.

that could have gotten you banned

Well, I must admit, that as long as people are not getting scammed, scammers are very good at one thing: making us laugh! If this thread didn't show you this, then you must be as thick as them (JK).

You've gotta admit, scammers are pretty creative. From Alt 4, to giving you an account, to armor trimming, to password scamming, to the recent shovel incident.

Although, I don't really like it when you're trying to help the general public, but people think you're scamming. Like free gem cutting, I offered it in Varrock bank and two or three people reported me. But the thing was, I had so many gems stocked up, that when some1 offered me an uncut, I already had a cut ready to offer, so they had no chance of losing anything. That is one thing, you should always make sure something is a 'geniune' scam before reporting it.

Edit: This Happened to my Friend

Scammer: I'm sorry to bother you sir, but it seems there have been some charges against you

Victom: O?

Scammer: I can erase them for you if you like

Victom: That would b nice

Scammer: All i need is your pass. then i can erase these charges against you

Victom: F**king noob!

You know that old scam with the wine of zamorak? They tell you to go and get it for them, usually giving a reason that they can't get it themselves. You go in, try to take it, and the monks of zamorak attack you. You try and escape, but the scammer keeps the door shut, and eventually you die. The scammer then goes in and takes your stuff.

I wanted to have some fun, so I left for the chaos temple. I planned to "fall" for this scam. But I brought teleport runes. So the scammer told me that if I prayed at the chaos altar, I wouldn't be attacked. So I pretended to believe him. I prayed at the altar and then tried to take the wine. Of course, I was attacked. Just in case, I only had 1 fire rune, 1 law rune, and my air staff, so if I died I wouldn't lose anything. Anyways, I teled and when I was in Varrock i pmed him, and asked how stupid he thought I was. He called me a noob and said the general things scammers say when you outsmart them. I didn't gain anything, but it's always fun to trick scammers.

Also fun is to telegrab it, then you have it right there and can claim your 10k for it, and then shout at them because they don't give it :)

Good idea, ill try that when I get to lvl 33 magic. I only need 5 levels. It is a waste of law runes, but it's worth it.

There was a guy who wanted to buy my red mask for 20mil, and another who even offered 60mil.

While they didn't do anything that could indicate a scam, I'm sure they would have done such thing if I traded them, but I didn't find it worth the time.

I was about to be scammed. I was wandering in varrock when someone said..

Scammer (his name is Pker G0blin): Free 1M!!

I wanted to give it a shot, I accepted quickly...

Me: Yes!!

Maddrox (another guy):

He led us around to Juliet's place (?).

Scammer: Trust your item. Whoever that trusts the best item wins 1M!

The term 'trust your item' is to GIVE it to them to show trust. Usually a scam.

Me: Scam!

Maddrox: Scammer!

Another guy: It's a scam.

We interrogated him, I gave Maddrox a helm I have in stock (he was wearing a bronze med so I gave him bronze full.

Me: How about you give us 300K per head?

Scammer did not have a word.

Maddrox: Yes 300K per head!

Me: You don't have many choices!

We reported him. 3 convictions.

Then the scammer asked us for our pass... we reported him again. Now 6 convictions.

As the ultimatum, Jagex sent me (probably us) a message saying that he had been dealt with some hours later. I became friend with maddrox. Sometimes scams can make friends!

PS. I've added his name to track him. Now he'll be offline forever...

Hmm, well, it's been a while since it happened, but I'll try and remember as much of it as I can.

I was helping a friend (irl) train his new character. We were up at the goblin camp and I was just kind of putzing around, playing with the goblins. This guy comes up and wanted me to get the Zamaroc wine for him. Being industrious, I already knew about the scam from reading about it, so I refused. Told my friend it was a scam and we went back to doing what we were doing. Finally figuring out that I wasn't going to fall for it, this guy asks me if I want to help him scam some people. I refused and he asked me why. I told him that I didn't like doing that kind of thing. If only I had known enough to use the report feature at the time. *sigh*

I don't know if this is a scam, but alwell..

I was in Ranging guild, and I asked where I could exchange my Tickets and he leaded me to some tower, I got shot some high 11's whit even Protect from Range on, I didn't die which was very lucky, the guy who leaded me only said 'lolol noob' and he went to his job again.

... This also happened in a hole in Lumbridge, I was there to and died, I lost about 20k only, I also saw a person whit skull and had a Obby cloak and shield, the guy pretty much got all the loot. :'(

worst scam attempt = Members can trim armor

Anyway, to the story: One day i was in world 3 pking with some friends when i died, i didnt lose anything except a set of full rune. Anyway, i ended up in lumby so i tele to varrock center and a nub is there saying he can trim armor and he's a member. I, being somewhat smarter than him, decided to tell him that i would let him *trim* my armor. *Nub was too stupid to check if i was a member,* anyway, during the trade process i asked him if he'd been to castle wars lately. He replies: yes, i go there all the time. Then i asked him: "Have you been to the rune cave?" He replies: Of course, i'm already level 22. *Bang* reported. A few hours later i recieve a message from jagex (the account you have reported has been dealt with). Will post pic:

I had one today offer to turn addy armour into rune armour for me.

I said I didn't have any, and he told me to go buy some and bring it to him... I left and he messaged me asking if I had the addy armour yet. So I told him that yes, I did have it, and the person who sold it to me had shown me how to turn it in to rune.

Whipped the rune plate out of the bank and went back to where he was waiting and showed it to him.

"How'd you do that?" he asked.

"I thought you said you could already do it?" I answered.

"There are lots of ways, you show me how you did it." He said.

"OK, you need to use Zammy wine on it." I told him.

So off we went up to the monks and he goes to grab the wine... I'm holding the door shut and the inevitable happens. I grab his stuff (junk, gave it to a newbie) and pmed him with "Thankyou for being a contestant on 'Scam the Scammer'"

What does Wine Of Zamorak do, anyways?
