With Jagex doing RWT are you going to continue renewing your membership?

For now, yes. This update could be the start of something very bad, but for now, I'm not so enraged that I feel the need to cancel. The membership price isn't high enough for me to feel like I'm wasting money even if I don't play. But if we start getting more microtransactions (like actually buying armour/weapons/items/gold) then I probably will stop renewing.

I still enjoy the game, even if Jagex are putting in things I don't particularly like, so I will keep paying. I definitely won't be buying any spins or anything like that, though.

Partly no, partly yes. I'm going to take it day to day. I'll try to log on for my dailies, but considering that i could just get a job and buy my xp 100% legitly, i don't see much of a point in doing... Anything. I'm removing my subscription from my secondary account though. It was time i quit/cut back playing anyway.

Now that I've calmed down a bit, yes. I'm not quitting over microtransactions. I'd actually be okay with them. Was always more worried about that security issue.

I will continue my subscription so long as there are no micro-transactions. However, I will never pay for any "bonus" items (like the ones from the 3 month cards), spins, or anything other than the subscription fee.

Even with the effigy nerf, which pissed me off more than any other update, I won't cancel my subscription. As long as I have some motivation to play the game, I will continue paying.

Until they fix sof so its not such a big gaping hole in peoples financial security I won't renew. Canceled my credit card because I used it once on a noob account that i've since abandoned and forgot the pass and recoveries to. So if that ever got hacked i'd be screwed.

 

I still like the game and will continue playing until this membership runs out, but i wont support a company that can leave such a giant hole in their security.

Yes. While I am disgusted at this update, I can just ignore it and continue playing the game I love. I don't personally think quitting makes much of a significant statement at all.

Right now, I don't think I'll resubscribe, not because this is microtransactions, but the way this is set up, with no safeguards against children with access to credit cards, against hackers, plus it exploits gambling addictions which I find disgusting.

 

It might look different in a month though I guess...

I'll probably stay for a couple more months and see where the update takes us, before making a final decision on staying or not. All I know that this goes against most of the morals that Jagex had back in 2002...

Yes, I'm going to continue my subscription. However, this poll should have three answers. "Yes, but I won't buy spins," "Yes, and I'll buy spins as well," and, of course, "No." I won't be buying spins, but not because I disagree with the update. People have been saying for a while that Jagex needs to do something about the grind. Granted, this is probably a bad way to go about it, but you have to admit it's something.

I've been a member for many years, and the squeal update seemed to be the final straw.

When the update came out, on an impulse buy I wasted around $50 in spins. As soon as I finished the spins I literally did a "What the [bleep] did I just do?!"

 

Simply for that reason, I've completely left my account (Got a friend to do a keysmash copy paste so the password can't be guessed, as well as do the same thing for my recovery questions) and started a new F2P account. I have no plans of paying another cent to Jagex, simply because through gullibility I've paid enough. I must say though that it's quite annoying to see at least one members ad whenever I log on.

 

I'm glad that F2P hasn't changed much, simply because I don't have to pay for it, I won't be surprised by a horrible update, (Since F2P rarely gets them) and it brings back nostalgia of when I first started playing years ago.

 

(Also, if you think you know who this is, feel free to PM me in game, but I would like to try and stay as anonymous as possible. Somewhat of a fresh start without past regrets you could say.)

I think I don't subscribe anymore, but that is not mainly because of this update, but just because I became bored with RS.

I'm not really sure. I use 3 month cards and by the time I'd need to renew the update may be changed hopefully or people will just stop caring by then.

For now, yes, but if Jagex goes further with the RWT and the microtransactions, I'll call it quits.

Although I really disliked this update, it doesn't affect my playing style at all, so I will continue to renew my membership. I will, however, NOT buy any spins.

I cancelled my subscription, for the 1st time ever because of the game changing. I have not played since the update. The only other time I "quit" was because I couldn't afford p2p for a bit. I'm waiting to hear what Jagex has to say and what they do before I decide if I'll ever play again. But as things stand, I do not plan to be a member again.
