build your crew and ships before you go to next island

i always switch back to lower islands when i reach new one.

Well, you are forced to get jade for the new crew anyways

So i guess its better to try 9 voyages a day for jade instead of 6 and doing lower regions at least until all the new crew is obtained

Or you could do two jade voyages and use the third on collecting resources for the lodgings to get better chances on crew.

Amazing that from one update we have already 90+ pages of discussion...

However, I still feel this is a relatively small update - I mean, how much is there really to do and see? Cutscenes and actual participation from the player would add much more to the 'rs-feel'.

What should I focus on atm?

I'm 34% into the scythe region.

I have a renovated bar, refitted workshop, refitted shipwright and a renovated warehouse.

I have 12k chimes, 2.9k gunpowder 2.4k slate and 1k cherrywood.

I have 2 ships as well and all ship upgrades except the Hull of Storms upgrade.

Very little content depth wise, but spread out in several months time.

That depends, i cant login now but i think its a 3-5% bonus? How much can that be compared to an extra 3 voyages for jade that if successfull will account for 2 extra crew every day

Once the crew is set up you can work on upgrade buildings on lower regions with one ship and buildings/ship upgrades with the other 2 until the 4th ship is unlocked

Can you define crew? Which ones?

I would advise at least 4 of all basic crew from the scythe: 4 x moral, combat, seafaring types.

I still have the feral chimera's, they are usefull for combination voyages (I have 3, 2 would be fine). I erven use my siren's still but they become less handy quickly.

I would advise at least 2 burocrats and 2 scythe-traders (forgot name).

The rest you can play with - up to your preference, depends on what voyages you do, what percentage of success you feel comfortable with, etc.

Replace all your gunpowder people with their cherrywood equivalents, you can be a little short on the seafarers as the special unit for this area has the same seafaring as the cartographer. Third ship helps a lot too and should be your next use of bamboo and slate.

I remember this beign discussed somewhere, but i really cbf to scroll. Which adventurer seems to assign ancient bones?

I got rock crushing scrimshaw, but 0 bones, at the same I got 11 plates and some liquor. Haven't seen an ancient bone voyage since like Hook region, but that I failed....

Anyone have any recomenndations which adventurers I should attract for max possibility of double voyage with bones as rewards?

In general POP related discussion - I got all the ship upgrades, my crew is set, except for the fact that I don't have decent captains, I am yet to see a 10k chimes captain. About 60% into Scythe, with a shitton of goods and all available port/ship/crew upgrades done.

I wonder if seasinger Umi will get a bigger part in wherever this is going :)

I also wonder what happens if all stories are completed: will that just be the end of it? Seems like if you have all upgrades in the port/boats, all you can do is hope for bones/plates/lacquer etc missions, and try to slightly improve your crew now and then... sounds like a bit of a dull goal to me?

You'll do the same thing you do with the rest of rs, wait for updates.

From the empty days of hope, deny the darkness
Follow my voice, we'll run far away from here

If only to hide, to escape this life
And live forever, forever in the sun

I wonder if seasinger Umi will get a bigger part in wherever this is going smile.gif

Sounds like a job for the Comp Cape (t) crew.

I am guessing Umi might have a role to play against Quin in the end.

Wasn't PoP meant to be a new way to make money? Like MTK, but fancier. The relative rarity of bones etc would hedge against prices dropping instantly and making PoP superfluous/dead content withing a few months.

In before Umi becomes a lore-telling person to recount the story line ventures within your port.

I don't think ports are intended to make cash... the actual interest in the buyable ports gear will be VERY low, as it degrades, and cant be repaired... until repairable, it's pretty shit.. More of a cash sink than anything, buying stuff off market trader.

Cash sink? 120k a day? I doubt it :P

I *hope* it is profitable for quite some time ! Armors will get sold because they are new

120k a day for 6 months is a bit of money tbh... they arn't a HUGE sink, but still a small sink, to a degree... now consider every player doing ports sinking that cash.

meamzed.png

Where do you get 120k from? Am I doing something wrong because I usually spend 54-80k ish.

Items Acquired

Crystal Pick and Hatchet

Berzerker Ring x 3

3/28 Barrows Items

as you get higher up, it does get more expensive i've found, might just be me... probably more like 70-100k a day in zone 4

I remember this beign discussed somewhere, but i really cbf to scroll. Which adventurer seems to assign ancient bones?

Missionary / Biologist - Ancient bones (both, since there's quite a few scrimshaws, with more to come in the future probably)

Occultist - Chi globes

Whaler - Plates

Convict - Lacquer

Assassin - Spices

This is from the High-level-forums if anyone is interested:

If any of you are going for pieces of the PoP armor, here's some information you'd like to know. The trade goods given on special voyages is dependent on the adventurer that visits.

Occultist - Chi Globes

Whaler - Plates

Convict - Lacquer

Along with the adventurers that form joint voyages, they can grant up more trade goods with the same duration as any other special voyage.

Occultist & Missionary - More Chi Globes

Convict & Assassin - More Lacquer

Whaler & Botanist - More Plates

Finally I would recommend building two icon hotspots of the main adventurer you want to visit and the 3rd as the joint adventurer.

Example: 2 occultist statues and 1 missionary statue if you plan to go for chi globes

"Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."

"An imperfect man can do great deeds, and a great man imperfect ones.

it is possible to get trade goods without having the correct adventurer unlocked on regular voyages

Don't think it's been mentioned yet but once you get to a certain point in the bar upgrades you need to choose what to specialise in.

LoSSN.png

The bottom one has third line like the others and costs the same, the top one is called the sinister bar. That was the only way to get them all in one screenshot without editing.
