Would you ever get a Tattoo?

I'm pretty sure you can find this exact post in this same topic but here it goes:

I'll only get a specific tattoo which I've already thought of when I was about 13. I want to get a squished spider tattooed under my foot, but everybody I know discourages me to get it. As I get older I increasingly want to get it done, but I don't feel like walking around on crutches for weeks. However, if I break my leg/sprain my ankle I might as well get it done.

Foot tattoos fade insanely fast, don't get it there

A guy at my school got the word "ANDY" tattoo'd to the bottom of his foot. I haven't looked at it myself in a while, but I thought it was pertty creative.

I'd only get something like one or two dots on my hand, maybr a barcode - thats the maximum.

Besides it would make me look like an adventurer who's went to some dodgy country or nazi extermination camp and escaped

And something generic and over used like a bar code or dots would make you look uncreative

Well it's been awhile since I posted on this thread. I now have 4 tattoos including a huuuuge work in progress on my side.

Check it out:

One is a mirror shot, that's why it looks like they're on two different sides haha.

Oh and edit the title to spell tattoo correctly pleeease.

Thats pretty good dude.

Although I still haven't got a tattoo, if I bulk out a little through the gym, I may get something on my ribs aswell.

(I can't believe this thread is still alive!)

Yeah they hurt like a [bleep] though. None of my other ones hurt this much.

I'm trying to design a sleeve, though I'm pretty bad at art and not doing a great job.

My first idea is to have something like that, but flying upwards facing each other with an angle towards outside the skin. A life/death theme in the background, with greens and blues on one side and reds and blacks on the other. I could tribal stuff just as a back ground with the shading slowly changing colours, but fill it up with smaller tattoos around the birds on the sides according to theme.

I like the idea but I'm not sure if it will look good..

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo after I turn 18, except I am not sure what to get tattooed.

Tbh I love tattoos, only I'm FAR too wussy to have one myself :P I think they can be really awesome, I'm just afraid of the pain.

From what my friend says, it only really hurts because friends are [wagon] and constantly remind you that the skin around the tattoo is sore. :XD:

It depends on where you get it on your body and how big it is. Some can be relatively painless, but some can be brutally painful.

No. I intend on living for a long time, and want to look reasonably okay for all that time. I don't believe tattoos look good on old people with wrinkly skin. I'm not under the impression that people's bodyshapes remain unchanged for decades, and as such all tattoos look ugly, if you live an average length of life.

Depressing, how cool they may be in the short term, but long term, getting them removed, and seeing decayed/ugly tattoos on people in their early 40s and onwards is too depressing for me to feel it's worth it in any way.

As much as it would be really cool to have one, I have a few concerns.

1) A good design - way too many people get chinese symbols, or skulls, barbed wire, roses...you get the idea

2) A good artist - if it's going to be on my body for my whole life, it had better look good, and I've seen way too many pictures of bad tatoos to want to take any chances.

3) Old age - I can't think of anything I would want to have on me for the rest of my life so no, I'll probably never get one.

I may get one sometime in the future. If I do, I really have no clue what it would be. But it's definitely a possibility for me.

Lol I know a guy, has that EXACT tattoo. xD

Wait, what?

I can't help but think about what some tattoo will look like when I am 80 and have elephant's skin. So I don't think I could ever get one.

I have two with plans for more. One is of two eagle feathers hanging from a medallion (express my Lakota heritage), and one's my son's name on my chest (not all across, it's sort of small on my left pectoral). I like tattoos, and the way I see it, might as well enjoy your life while you can, when you're old, you won't care about tattoos that you have, you'll just remember the good times you had.

Aha! I've decided.

I want to get "I want you to hit me as hard as you can." around my collar bone. Quote from Fight Club and possibly the most painful place to get a tattoo? Score.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Yeap, planning on getting one very shortly. Have to make an appointment with a tattooist and get something drawn up first, looking to get a small sleeve, only want it to go to halfway down my bicep though, and over to my chest. Something that can be covered over by a t-shirt if need be as I intend on becomming a cop.

No, I don't plan on getting a tattoo. At least, not now. Maybe sometime in the future I'll get one if I think of something awesome enough to have, and a good place to have it. The pain doesn't scare me in the slightest, since I know that it is nowhere near as painful as people believe it is.

To those who believe old tattoos look terrible, that isn't always the case. My uncle is in his fifties and has a number of tattoos on his arms, all of which still look badass.
