December 23, 200619 yr When i get my fishing cape all the people are gonna be like... GOZNLER DO EMOTE, EMOTE PLZ! I'll be all like k. Here it comes! (Teles to some random area) The self-proclaimed king of bronze.
December 23, 200619 yr I wish if you put trade/compete friends you can't be followed except by friends. That'll get rid of some annoying emote begging followers Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
December 23, 200619 yr I was just about to say the same thing as Piman. Charge em' money. Some will pay, some won't. I bet you'd see a fall in the rate of emote asking if almost everyone new about paying money. But then again, it wouldn't be to nice to the poor ol' nubs that just want to have a good time. I probably wouldnt mind it. Considering if I got one, it'd be fairly easy to get so people wouldn't ask as much cause I'm sure they've seen almost all the capes except the rare ones. Slayer, farming etc. More Tip.it Friends Needed! Feel Free To Add Me\m/ Tip.it's Biggest Metalhead.
December 23, 200619 yr One other thing I did today other than the usual, is say "Do you want to end up like this head?" while talking to my Zombie Head from the Halloween event last years. Then I left.
December 23, 200619 yr I only have the quest cape, and it rarely leaves my bank. It's not so much me being annoyed with people asking for the emote, I'm just doing stuff where having 99k sitting on my back is rather pointless/stupid. I have only asked to see an emote once, of a person wearing the Construction Cape, as I had never seen it. I asked politely (with proper grammar and spelling), and the wearer kindly showed it to me :) I guess if I were to have a cape of my own, that would be my policy... nice, polite requests get to see it, demands don't. December 23, 200619 yr its very very annoying.... I usually don't even wear the lil guys unless i go to train def/slayer... I mean i might do the emote once but people constantly asking me really gets me PO'ed... Most of the time they don't even ask nicely which really ticks me off.. BoD i don't have quest cape by choice..... I could easily get it tho... I just don't do quests that give prayer exp... and most quests IMO aren't worth the time to do so i choose not to lol.. RSN: drgnslyer15 15 skills 90+ - 10 skills 99 - 200m+ total exp

December 23, 200619 yr I thought the idea of the skill cape was that it would display your proficiency in that skill, for the less-easily noticed disciplines - i.e. cooking, woodcutting, etc. (any non-combat skill). At this point, I get a tad confused why it would bother the skill cape owners that others would notice an item which is largely to display the fruits of one's hard work in a skill. A rare item at that, for which curiosity and interest in seems hard to fault. But I don't have one, so I don't have the firsthand experience of what it's like -- just some thoughts.
December 23, 200619 yr IGNORE THEM! It's not that hard. Just don't respond at all to them. It's not that hard to be polite, take 10 seconds out of playing a game, and show it to them either. I'm actually really surprised at the amount of people who are so annoyed about it. You all say you're too "busy" to show the cape.. It's a game, i'm sure if you take some time to show people an emote, the game will still be there afterwards.. Sig And Avatar by Tripsis - 99 Slayer Blog - My Pyramid Plunder GuideOwner of Fire Cape since 28-09-2005 - 426th to 99 Strength
December 23, 200619 yr Is the pope a catholic? I hate skill capes. For all of you telling us not to wear them, try that when you are level 120+ capone weres ur skill cape 124 weres ur skill cap cappe why u no skill cape get ur skill cape out Etc.. I actually find it less hassle to just wear one of the damn things and do the emote (if they say please). It's still annoying though. P.S. If you think saying that your skill cape is in the bank/in your house or that you don't have one will get rid of the noobs plaguing you, you couldn't be more wrong. Capone Sabre since April 2001.99 Attack, Defence, Strength and Hitpoints Achieved January 2005. When it still meant something.
December 23, 200619 yr Was ok at first but i must admit i do find it really annoying now,its ok if someone asks politely which is very rare!

It's a game, i'm sure if you take some time to show people an emote, the game will still be there afterwards.. Despite my sig, I do think it's naive for somebody to expect to not be asked to do the emote, especially when they have a less common 99 such as smithing, construction, farming, etc that they choose to wear. I often don't respond (partly cuz i don't pay attention to chat most the time I play the game) but I don't think stopping to show them is as "easy" as you make it sound. If you're working on a skill, many times you can't just stop in the middle of it to do an emote (e.g. middle of mining an ore, killing a monster, etc). Even if you can, it's a serious hindrance if you try to show every single person who asks. Even once you satisfy the people following you asking for it, once you're done those who weren't paying attention before are now noticing the end of it and wanting you to "Do it again!" Then even if you decide to be nice and spend time doing that bit for a while, as soon as you resume what you were doing, you'll have a newcomer wanting to see it and it just starts all over again. So yeah, doing it won't slow you down once... but trying to appease everybody would keep you from getting any leveling done. I tend to ignore chat while I'm actively working on something (not intentionally ignoring, it just ends up happening), but if I'm just standing still in a bank or something while paying attention to another screen or something in my apartment that distracted me, I'll sit in the bank clickin on the emote for people who i know were probably asking. (guess that was a long way of saying you can't show everybody without stopping what you're doing altogether). December 23, 200619 yr When capes were new, it was pretty fun to do them and people wanted to see them always. Nowadays I'm pretty bored to my str emote, but ppl wanna see that less often, so it's ok to show it sometimes. I don't hang out in banks and towns so they don't ask me to do emotes very often. December 23, 200619 yr Wow, while cutting maples behind Cammy bank, a lvl 98 has been asked to do emote about 4 times in 10 mins. (smithing cape) Doomy edit: I like sheep
December 23, 200619 yr Meh, I usually just show em, it's faster then to have them follow you around all the time. 99 Slayer since August 2007.
December 23, 200619 yr What I'd probably do once I get a skill cape, is whenever I get asked to do an emote, and I'm walking, if they continue following me, I'll just throw them on my ignore list and keep walking. If I'm standing somewhere doing stuff, like chopping wood, then I might do it once, but that'd be it... I'll have to let you guys know how it turns out once I get 99 fletching (93 now). don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat
December 23, 200619 yr THAT'S THE POINT OF SKILL CAPES!! FOR PEOPLE WITH 99 STATS TO SHOW OFF AND BE PROUD! there were so many poeple complaining that there is nothing which makes them stand out and as soon as jagex introduce something like this u all complain again!! DON'T WEAR THE CAPE IF U DON'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED!
December 23, 200619 yr I have a quest cape. And I don't get asked a lot. But if I do I just do the emote, because I'm proud :D and I like the emote. :D I only hate if they ask: Someone: '' Hey Robert is that a quest cape" me: ''Yes it is'' Someone: ''So you done all quests???'' #-o Credits to Skully Sc for the signature.
December 23, 200619 yr Im not only getting annoyed by the people who ask about doing skillemote, i also get annoyed by the people who actually wear skillcapes. Skillcapers attract people who care about emotes.
