August 31, 200718 yr Don't you hate having two windows open just for the world map? Isn't it a pain having to load that thing? Don't you want the world map to be ingame? Well whine like a noob no more! Now there can be the world map INGAME! It would be a GREAT tool for newbies and a good one for experienced players as well. I find it a bit challenging to find my way around the wilderness (Not THAT hard, but I get lost >_<) and it would be nice to have a 'Where Am I?' button. And yeah, it was Blueleader9's idea too. So I present to you: THE RUNESCAPE WORLD MAP- IN THE GAME!!! To access this map, first click the earth icon near the mini map. The map will automatically turn to the north, and the world map will appear. All the map controls will be the same, excluding the hotkeys for zooming and all those other thingies. A new feature is added- the 'Where Am I?' button. When this button is clicked, the button will temporarily flash red and the icon on the map will flash like the items from the key would do when they are clicked upon. If the 'Where Am I?' icon is not on the screen, the map will automatically go to that point. To exit, just click the 'Exit world map' button. If you get attacked, the map will automatically close. You can't use it during combat. If you go in a dungeon and use the map, your 'Where Am I?' icon will not be visible on the world map. JaGeX doesn't really provide us with dungeon maps... maybe they do... I don't know. I've re-thought about where to put the button. It would be a good spot to put it in the empty spot next to the friends list... Then a button like the 'logout' button where you can view the world map, and then the second screen in my post will appear. I'll edit the pics whenever. (Rednik's idea, thanks :)) SUPPORT WITH A SIG! September 28, 200718 yr The Java map works great for me but I love the idea of having the world map built right into the game. Add me to your supporters list! :thumbsup: Oh and just an idea, what if you could also have the option to show where you are on the map to others? Like a big version of the little map that is already in the corner. This would make it easier for friends to find you. Of course you would be able to turn it off so others cannot see you on the map, otherwise it would make you too vulnerable when you are Pking. Just a thought. October 8, 200718 yr support but then I can't see what im doing, and yopu used the example of pking... would other players be shown on the big map? what if you get attacked while you are looking at the map? wouldn't it take time to load like the real thing? what will you do then? wouldn't it be easier to use the home port button if your lost in the world and the pop up for the map since in the pop up, you can still see a part of the screen. has some flaws but overall support the idea. what if you could just make the minimap show more or be able to scroll on the minimap? I want it to be in a fixed point! Everytime we log in the N point will be on top and is strightened same with those buildings!
