Nope, I honestly haven't used nor am I currently using a third party interface for Runescape.

Don't trust them to be honest... always worried about keyloggers and such.

I do use swiftswitch which is now legal with the recent rule changes.

I've only ever used the RHQ's one... If there are better or worse out there, I haven't tried them.

I've used Swiftswitch for nearly a year now and I simply love it. For those of you who haven't tried third party clients, you don't know what you're missing.

There are so many features that are hard to go with out: capturing and saving screenshots with a single button click, looking up highscores and combat of some1 without having to change the page, easily accessible guides (although I hardly ever use 'em cause they're not Tip It quality :P ), of course the IRC chat, and tons of other functions I can't think of.

I'm really glad Jagex reconsidered their Rule 7 and 9 updates because it would (and did) create a great uproar in the community and frankly, I think I'd still use it anyways. For right now however, I'm waiting until Strider upgrades it to be "Jagex-Friendly" so I'm stuck with using Internet Explorer again... oh well.

I've told this story before, I used to know a guy who had a program that could steal any account that used a third party client especially ss, so, I will never use one ever...

Third party clients are for wusses!!!!

swiftswitch 8-)

I use to use SS before I was unable to start downloading the updates and the IRC chat didn't work. So now I just use the RS website. And I have another window up with all my tabs that I need.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

There should be a sometimes option

Tip it doesnt support SS because its made by RSC but if tip it made a third party client then tip it would be supporting it allover.

I use ss mainly for the irc

I didn't vote because it wouldn't let me. :|

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

I would use ss if I had a pc, but i have a mac, and it dosn't work on it...

I only found out about these third party clients a week or so ago, but I never tried one. I probably would have eventually though. If JaGex makes one of their own I would definately use it, providing it doesnt slow down my already slow computer :anxious:

Big_Stingman is the bomb!

I just started using the clients wednesday and they are pretty nifty. I don't know how to use the chat though lol

I would put a cool link here but I don't know how.

Swiftswitch ftw. I can barely stand to play on IE or Firefox since SS is still illegal. A few more days though and I can get back to actually playing the game.

Is SS now legal? Can anyone confirm this?

I might be using it if its legal now.:anxious:

I have never used one, and probably never will. Anything bigger than the official runescape client would be take up too much screen space for me. I like being able to read things and play runescape at the same time, with a generous amount of space for each.

Rule 7 and Rule 9 Updated (again!)

Following yesterday's update to Rule 7 and Rule 9 , we have tweaked them both a bit more - to take into account some constructive feedback and thoughts we've had on the matter. Thanks to the people who have been helping us get these right rather than just ranting at us! Particularly our thanks to Strider.

Since Strider argued the changes to the rules and changes to the third party clients, and he also is in charge of SS, I'd say SS is probably legal.

I use Tiko, from Zybez... I never trusted a downloadable client, since that's the way to download a virus...

...but SwiftSwitch seems quite trustworthy, and I might try it.

The fact that Swiftswitch being supported by RSC has NOTHING to do with our stance on these programs. Its our users that conjure up this so called "war" we have with opposing websites.

Jagex does not recommend the usage of third party clients , therefore WE don't recommend the usage of third party clients.

We have never created our own simply for the fact of the scrutiny that can arise from it. Take Strider for instance, do you realize how many times people have claimed his program was responsible for the loss of their account when it was really their own careless behavior to blame? Do you really think we want to listen to that day in and day out ?

Actually to be quite honest with you , a web-based client would have a much greater success at stealing your password if you had the proper security measures installed on your computer (firewall, antivirus, etc). I'm not saying that Tiko is not trustworthy as I myself have never tried it, nor do i think Zybez would destroy the image they worked hard to gain, but its that false hope and blind trust that usually gets most users in bad situations.

You do know that Swiftswitch is available through Zybez as well, right? In fact, since Zybez was relaunched, RSC is now essentially Zybez forums, just like these are Tip.it forums. Anyway, SwiftSwitch is trustworthy, though I prefer firefox :D

Note to admins: I can't see the new poll, it still has the "how do you pick what world you play on" poll on my screen...not sure why this is, but it might be more than just me

Legends quest completed at lvl 47 on X Legendre X

#3056 to 99 firemaking, achieved on July 4th, 2007.

Tied for #1854 to 99 farming, achieved on September 3rd, 2008.

Two reasons I don't use a third-party client. First, I only do my computer work/playing on a Macintosh and they haven't released a Mac version of any of these. Second, I hear of a lot of people's accounts that have been hacked. I'm not sure how their accounts are compromised specifically but I assume some if not most have been hacked by account stealing through a third-party application. That's probably JAGEX's reasoning behind their initial strengthening of Ruld 7 and 9. Althought I'm only level 92 I should be at a moderate risk level for being a hack target.
