Desert Treasure Overrated?

I just did desert Treasure at 89 combat. I think its a little overrated. I only used around 35 prayer pot doses(30 on damis) and like 3 super restores for kamil. the hardest part is the pyramid as I fell around 20 times. I'm ice rushing at castlewars and it seems useless. Kamil, supposedly the hardest boss, got killed easy with fire bolt. I only prayed melee and barely got hit hard with the ice spell. I think its overrated. Not really the spells, but the actual quest. Its nowhere near as hard as people say it is.

I did Desert Treasure at a similar level to you, and despite dying to Damis (stupid laptop ftl) I found the only 'tricky' bit was the pyramid. It wasn't an extremely challenging quest, quite a long one though.

The quest- yes. I mean some bosses are easy, the hardest was erm, the ice one. I had to go back with 4 Super (4) Restores. And I had to wait about 10 minutes out of the ice area, to wait for my magic to go back up to 25 my first try without super restores. Back then, we didn't have Home Teleport

I died on Damis due to under-rating his prayer drain + getting all the bits for the mirrors really annoyed me running back and forth 3 times

I don't think Kamil himself was the hard part, but that whole leg of the quest, with the stat drains, the damage, etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Somehow, Damis was easy for me. I just ran in and through, and ended up in a corner with just me and the fell shadowy spirit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But Ancient Magicks are about Bursts and Barrages, not Rushes or Blitzes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's fun to wreak havoc on a crowd in Castle Wars with Ice Burst or Barrage. Plus, it's a great way to get mage XP in Pest Control.

I remembered people telling me Desert Treasure was all hard and stuff. When I wanted to be a low leveled ancient (64 FTW) I thought it was going to be the hardest thing I've ever done in RuneScape...FFS! All you need is 43 Prayer, prayer pots, and sharks and you're done with the quest. -.-

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I died only twice but only due to lag, and Ca2theone saved me stuff from Damis. If it wasn't for the lag I could of done the quest without dying. About the pyramid, I just prayed the entire way, walking 2/3 of the way. :?

yea ice barrage owns, i was ice barraging a lvl 89 who was wearing ahrims while i was wearing ahrims, and he was getting hit 50% of the time, considering the magic def provided from arhims, he was going to die quickly. i hit a few 30s and he prayed magic as the game ended. its just funny to destroy people who think they are unstoppable. its like omg im lvl 90 with torag on... get hit 34/34 dagger special in castle wars...

When I did desetrt treasure, I found the fights were not all too hard. Just long. I used a lot of potions but I found the quest fairly easy. I only had a tiny bit of trouble on Kamil but I beat him the second fight I came to him.

I did it around 90-91, used only 5-8 doses of p-pot (No joke) and each boss was easy. The only two bosses I almost died on were the shadow guy (I forgot the names lol) and the vampire guy. The others I owned easily. The pyramid made me fall like 10 times. idk, wasn't too hard, but I did almost die a few times. So it's not super easy, nor overrated.

the rush spells are garbage, when you get the burst spells, it gets a lot better

yeah i agree. Except I didn't die and found it fairly easy to survive and kill all the bosses. If all bosses were like damis or if kamil hit harder with the ice spell then i might consider it a harder quest

Dt is very overated. I did it for the first time on my pure at lvl 70. 40 def, no pray... Didn't die once. But kamil did come close to killing me. I thought it would be a super hard quest but it was kind of easy...

yeah. I used like 30 doses of prayer and 45 casts on him. That shows how fast he drains.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, I hope i think aincents is just bad right now because I'm ice rushing. When i was smoke bursting it seemed ok, so i assume ice burst should be good.

30 pray pots on damis..that sounds quite tough (i used only 2). Ice rush is terrible in cw..use burst or above for the best effects :P

well, hopefully moslty not about rushes. I'm gunna try and earn some more money and then alch for 70 mage. I guess I'll sell my guthans now, but it'd also really help if my friend *cough sworddude198 cough* payed me back the 2 mil I lent him for pure ess in his goal of 30k nats.

The only boss that was hard for me (back when I was lvl 90 :P) was the canfis one. All the others were easy, and I never used more then 2 prayer pots per person. :-k And I hate the pyramid. :P

What? Do you expect runescape quests to be hard? In my opinion all of them can be beaten at combat 70 or below. I beat dt at combat 63, recipe at 76, and monkey madness at 73. Runescape quests are very easy, they might take a couple hours but they are very easy. Kamil I admit was a tad annoying, but I killed her(him?) and moved on.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ancient spells almost never fail. I'm only 76 mage and I ice burst in c wars. It's about a 99% chance I'll sucessfully hit a guy in melee armor, 95% I'll sucessfully hit someone in mage armor, and a whopping 70% chance I hit someone sucessfully in full black d hide. Someone casting fire wave for example will probably only have a 15% chance of sucessfully hitting someone, and even then the spell is weaker than ice burst and does not freeze for a decent amount of time. Ancients are overpowered.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There have been three instances when I lost my life. Twice it was when I thought I was a master pker at combat 45 with full mith, and once it was from a strange plant during a clan meeting with a whip, crystal bow, and d2h(luckly my clan picked it all up!). I have never died from a single quest in Runescape and have 230qps.

I found it quite easy, I only used Ppots in the Pyramid. Was quite easy really.

I found the pyramid very easy. I just looked at a fansite map, memorized the path, kept running, nonstop, drinking energy pots as I went. When I came to a wide open area I stopped, since there were less likely to be traps there. I took that time to drink potions and quickly refer to the guide for the next steps. I left protect from melee on the whole way, even if there were no monsters. This way, I didn't stop moving to toggle my prayer and risk falling. I ended up running through the pyramid in under 3 minutes using 4 energy pots, one prayer pot dose, and never fell down once.
