I found it very tough... especially Damis. He drains prayer like crazy! Died twice at him, and twice at the Vampire one. Surprisingly, the ice boss and pyramid were very easy for me... only fell nine times at pyramid.

if lvl 60's can do this quest its kinda obvious its overrated

When lvl 60s do it, they use GREAT AMOUNTS OF CASH ON HIGH FOOD+POTIONS. So no it's not overrated.

It's just that they are using expensive stuff to get by.

Everyone has trouble on a diffrent boss, the part everyone talks about the the pyramid. because you can be posioned, fall a lot, get hit hard, etc. (actually thats preaty much it.) It's like the temple of light, only easier.

Did you use a guide?

I never do a quest with a guide because it makes them ALL easy. Fave quest was underground pass.

CANE

Just to be different.

Think about it. A freaking Dragon Cane with a Dragonstone gem.

The spec will simply your character equiping a glove and beachslapping the enemy, who will break down and do the Cry emote for 10 seconds straight.

I did Desert Treasure at a similar level to you, and despite dying to Damis (stupid laptop ftl) I found the only 'tricky' bit was the pyramid. It wasn't an extremely challenging quest, quite a long one though.

Exact same here, minus the dieing and laptop. ;)

Pyramid was really beggining to GRIND MY GEARS.

'Love it.

The rewards are quite formidable at higher levels and can be very useful, the fact you are using ice rush is probably why you think that the rewards are overrated, when I did the quest at about level 75 I used 2 p pots on damis, and 4 p pots/s rests for the rest of the quest, I also managed to get through the pyramid without falling once  . The Quest and it's rewards might seem overrated when you have access to rush spell's, but at higher levels they are very useful spells.

I absolutely hated doing this quest when I was a noob, and thought to myself there is no way that this could be worth having done in the long run, (was just doing it to say I 'did the hardest quest at the time' back then.) This seemed especially true due to the prices that it cost to use these spells and that fact that I hated pking.

However, now since the price drops on lots of items, including runes, and the wealth that many people accumulated since the release of GWD. This skill proved more then invaluable as I bursted my way to 99 magic, and barraged my way to 21m Mage exp, and a large portion of the charms needed for 99 summoning and one of, if not, my favorite skill. (ya still a slayer noob at heart.)

I did this quest at lvl 79 and the only bit i struggled on was the blood monster, but then i went and got a dds and owned him

People do seem to believe its harder than it really is, its longer than it is difficult, if that makes sense

Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,

I like to think I walk this line every day.

Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man.

You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

i did DT at combat 56, without prayer( 34 ).. but i used about 50 shark or something like that.. had a rat between me and damis :P so he was easy but faar something the smoke dude was way harder.. i used snare and air wave only.. and he does hit easily 30+ without protect from melee so :P he got me rebarred but didnt kill me.. but the pyramid part.. gaah.. took about 2 hours atleast.. luckily enough i got it atlast.

so yea.. dt is overrated.. ain't that hard :P

Desert Treasure and Underground Pass have been the two most quest I had serious shivers down my spine doing.

Did DT at about 75 combat. Almost got killed by Dessous, but had no problems with the rest, not even the Pyramid.

It was a hard challenging quest years ago when there were limited supplies and resources to complete a quest unlike today when there are loads. It's nothing special doing it at level 89... things are a lot easier these days that's why you think it's overrated but back when it was first released it was a big achievement -.-

Done this quest couple of weeks ago personally I found the vampire guy the hardest to kill had 3 attempts: 1st:ran out of food and had to run away, 2nd: Again ran out of food and surived with 1 hp :ohnoes: 3rd: sucesfully killed him with no food left and 4 hp left. Overall the quest wasnt hard but it surely was scary, I think that long and scary quests are the best, they really take you into the lore of the game.

I think the hardest bit was the blood diamond. I used two inventories of food (Someone dropped extras for me) and the fight took around 7 minutes.

Kamil was only hard cause he took so long to fight and all the extra things you had to do. The pyramid was easy for me. Didnt fall once, but got lost a good few times.

Compared to most other quests, it's definitely a one of the more difficult ones. Anyways, it sounds to me like you were prepared. You can't use a guide for something and say it was easy. :notalk:

To me most quests are given a bad name and seem to hard for people to complete. But in reality if you know some tricks to certain quests its a lot easier then most people say. Like for DT, one trick is that you dont really need super restores regular restores worked fine for me and it makes it easier to kill the ice trolls with cannons before you go and fight Kamil.

I could go on with tricks for almost every quest but i wont bore you ::' ;)

The only really hard part about quests are the pre-requisites but even that, with hard work, can be overcome.

Seeing as I have 94 mage, the only spells I use from the ancients spellbook are the barrage ones. They are amazing in multi-combat PvP situations, I enjoy using them in clan wars alot.

As far as the quest goes it's really easy, I've done it on a pure with 11 prayer 1 defence and 52 hitpoints.
