  1. They are coming, i asked MMG ages ago and said that the website team are working on them. Yeah, but @OfficialJagex on Twitter said it will be a feed for all Jagex products, not just RuneScape. Meh, either way, it's good to know they are listening to us :)
  2. The RuneScape Wiki, of course, has a guide up: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/The_Hun ... d_Raktuber (the good thing about letting anyone edit and add to an article). Furthermore, it's good to see Jagex have finally been listening, and have finally realised what RSS feeds are all about and released one for the Dev Blogs: http://devblog.runescape.com/rss.ws Hopefully they'll also release an RSS feed for RuneScape News soon.
  3. This is why I said insert the Windows CD/DVD and format the Hard Drive that way :P
  4. Yeah, I think the assist system is really underused. But there's not really anything they can do to make people use it more; unless they change the whole idea behind the system.
  5. I believe that if you insert the Windows disk before booting the laptop on (turning it on), it should load the Windows Installer. If it does not, restart the laptop while the disk is in. From here you will be able to wipe the Hard Drive, and install a clean version of Windows, which you can use.
  6. Just format the entire hard drive (wipe everything), and install Windows XP or Vista (if you have the disk)? If you're willing to do this, the easiest way will be to insert your Windows disk, get to the install part, and format the hard drive before installing.
  7. Mark Gerhard only joined Jagex in Feb 2008, Andrew and Paul have of course been there from the beginning, with Constant Tedder being the first CEO.
  8. Update Safari to Version 4. Try a different browser. Those are two more obvious things :P
  9. Yeah, I posted this on the last page; viewtopic.php?f=30&t=795967&start=40#p6682971 Still, it's very interesting, Pe could be the name of some sea monster as well (doubtful). But I guess the "..." could mean it was cut off. And of course, Zanik's description sounds very much like a periscope :P
  10. Java shouldn't be really used to create and design an entire website unless it has some advanced interaction with the user, or is some sort of web application, like your example... ;) Not very common either.
  11. I hope you're just confusing Java and Javascript...they are completly different things. Java is used more for Web Applications and games and so on, Javascript is a programming language mostly used to control objects etc. on the web... I'd say you stay away from a flash portfolio to start with. I wouldn't say that a flash portfolio automatically shows you're a better Web Designer, unless it is a really advanced and innovative website. I'd recommend just sticking with a basic CSS/HTML website, using some jQuery (Lightbox (to make images pop-out into a larger box), fade in on hover and so on. You can get some great tutorials at
  12. I just found out about Mod MMG's Twitter account, about an hour ago. However, it looks very fake, is it is not confirmed who it actually is at this time. http://twitter.com/ModMMG
  13. Well, this is mainly a MechScape based interview, that's why the thread was created in the MechScape part of the forum 5 hours ago: viewtopic.php?f=284&t=796177 But I guess some points about RuneScape can be discussed from this article too...the Master Plans and so on. Of the Master Plan; I was they would release their top 300 ideas ;)
  14. I'd say RuneScape does actually have better graphics than both of those games, and also WoW. It's a completely different type of graphics, but I'd say the quality is much higher in RuneScape.
  15. Nice find, thanks for these. Didn't know they existed.
  16. Nice, just got posted on Official Jagex Twitter \ @OfficialJagex: Forum Watch - Tip.It have a rather devilish RS quiz at http://tiny[]url.com/mspwpg. See how much RS knowledge you really have :-) mod Ajd http://twitter.com/OfficialJagex/statuses/1958673858
  17. I think you can already do it with phpBB without a MOD. In the Admin Control Panel under Board Features, there's an option for "Allow Username Changes." Yeah, there is, but to limit username changes and that sort of thing would require a Modification. But I'm sure if it was wanted then someone with the required knowledge could be found.
  18. web.archive.org isn't too useful for retrieving old posts and threads etc. Only useful for seeing that Tip.It has had the same bland web design since 2001 ;)
  19. Some more pictures and so on found on the RuneScape Wiki: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Periscope http://twitter.com/RSWiki
  20. From Postbag: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=796024&p=6682858 & http://www.runescape.com/kbase/view.ws?guid=postbag_40 The image had the alt text "Zanik and pe..." I don't know if this is already from a quest etc. or if its something new...
  21. Finally
  22. [hide=Development Diary]Development Diary http://www.runescape.com/kbase/view.ws? ... ry_dwarf04[/hide] [hide=Postbag from the Hedge] http://www.runescape.com/kbase/view.ws?guid=postbag_40[/hide]
  23. This new game/skill he talks about is very interesting. If it's a new type of gameplay, I'm thinking more of a first-person WSAD thing :P
  24. If there are enough people who are not bothered and wouldn't mind username's to be changed (it's more of a privilege than a burden to users) than I do not see why not. Yes, you say Admins and Mods may get confused, but if only one username change was allowed, for example, in a month, then I'm sure that's enough time for people to get used to the new username, and who that person previously was. Furthermore, if only 3 username changes were allowed as a maximum for all users, then I highly doubt that many people will abuse the system. I'm sure there is probably already a phpbb modification that already does it, if not, I'm sure someone can make one fairly easily. If we had a forum-wide poll on new features being discussed to be implemented into the forum, then it would be much easier to see the general feeling towards them.
  25. I know what you mean, but there are a lot of accounts with o quotes, and I am sure they haven't logged in since their creation all those years ago. It was mostly an afterthought :) Yeah, I guess. But I have requested a deletion of my own account before and have been refused (I had my reason for deletion) :| I may as well make a new account, either when jagex releases name changes or later this week. But again, I'll have to make sure that everyone knows (Great Tip Pic private board), and move all my settings and so on. Sigh. Would be much easier if they just allowed name changes. I highly doubt it would be abused.
