  2. like i said there are so many other ways for people to get your ip than clicking links, it isn't exactly hard to do. Indeed, visiting this forum (if you tell me your browser and OS I should be able to find your IP as you've just loaded my signature and/or avatar), joining a "clan" forum, Ventrilo, IRC (DCC etc), the list goes on...
  3. Not really. These people are finding out the IP of another person (which is quite easy to do) via Ventrilo, I believe. Then again, just by visiting this site you give your IP away. So these DDoSers could also be linking people to a forum post which may contain a signature or avatar that they host on their own server; thus being able to find out your IP address. On the other hand, it may be difficult to find out who exactly the IP belongs to, therefore Ventrilo seems the best option for them to find it out. Just doing this relatively safe things can result in stuff that you don't expect. You don't assume that anyone would use your IP against you in such a way. Just shows that you can't really trust anyone on the internet...
  4. I used to get this too, whenever I had a few graphically heavy things open (RuneScape, Photoshop, Movie...). I think it may be on of the incredibly annoying aspects of Vista. To fix it, just hit Ctrl + Alt +Del, open Task Manager, go to the Processes tab and end the process dwm[Caution: Executable File]. If it does not restart automatically, go to the Applications tab, hit the New Task button and just type dwm[Caution: Executable File] and hit enter. ;)
  5. Banana . Sounds like a quest to me. I've had enough of poems this year though :ohnoes:.
  6. Indeed it is, although it has got a better makeover in recent times. I heard they were going to completely redo the forums...might just be a rumour though.
  7. [*:kvrrla0p]OrbMore :+: FunOrb Fansite :+: More than meets the Orb [*:kvrrla0p]OrbMore is a fansite for Funorb by Jagex. [*:kvrrla0p]We are in NO way affiliated with Jagex LTD or FunOrb. http://www.orbmore.com/ ;)
  8. Delete all cookies, or just go to http://RuneScape.com/splash.ws ;)
  9. Just found that an unedited version of the background was on their youtube channel (thejagexchannel) via twitter. [hide=Relatively large image][/hide]
  10. Not true :P. However, keeping your laptop plugged in constantly may affect the performance of the battery, leading to a shorter battery life.
  11. Pretty nice, though maybe have the hanging banner things slightly smaller and closer together, they are a bit too overwhelming. I'm not sure about using a spacer, but if it's easier for you to do... But still, it's a nice splash page.
  12. You can't link directly to the image all the time, Jagex doesn't allow it. Most people won't be able to view it. And that is GOP (Great Orb Project).
  13. Watched trailer earlier today, much better than before. I guess they are making the homepage more appealing to new players. SirHemen: Also, smaller image from Facebook: The twitter background: http://s3.amazonaws.com/twitter_product ... itter_.jpg I guess they'll be releasing it as a wallpaper soon.
  14. I believe he means 2800Mhz, I guess he just typo'd the "2". This is assuming he is talking about the same iMac as he mentioned in the first post. For the purpose of this thread, as the iMac is either from Mid-2007 or Early-2008 (a relatively new model - Aluminium), I have no doubts that it will be able to run Snow Leopard perfectly fine in full 64-bit glory. As for OpenCL, the supported GPU's are the NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT, GeForce 8800 GT, GeForce 8800 GTS, Geforce 9400M, GeForce 9600M GT, GeForce GT 120, GeForce GT 130, ATI Radeon 4850, Radeon 4870 (http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html), so you won't be able to take advantage to that, but I don't really think that is really important as the difference it makes on a day to day basis won't be too significant, I guess.
  15. He has a nice voice ;). It was nice of him to take part in a video too, albeit a popular one.
  16. Geeheeheeheeheeheehee... PWNED. SO HARD. Indeed. :D I walked in on some people 'cybering' above Edgeville General Store (I like to just check out what's in these usually empty places sometimes...), and realised it was some TIFers. I don't think I'll be posting the screenshot though (it is quite old too).
  17. 2009 is the year of upgrades basically : RuneScape - mainly fixing and improving parts of the game. Windows 7 - Basically Vista as it should have been. Snow Leopard - Building upon the best. There's not much else they could do apart from speeding everything up with 64 bit and so on.
  18. Mil replied to Da_Latios's topic in Art and Media
Nice, but if you hadn't followed the reference image so precisely, it'd be better. But still, very nice... Perhaps try Illustrator if you are looking to do more Vector styled images ;)
  19. Nothing too serious or important, just a little slightly annoying design error for the Prosilver theme. The Avatar (if around 100px) is overlapping the online tag users have when they are online. Firefox 3.5b99 Just testing in Chrome as well...I'm sure it's the same for other browsers.
  20. To me it sounds like this has been an ongoing thing that they have found a solution/use to. Perhaps a quest where familiars, NPC's, and so on re-appear from the dead? I don't know... I think Conveyance could mean the transfer of items, familiars, skills to another person (in RuneScape terms)... Mobilising Armies looks more likely...
  21. Wow, really awesome :) Didn't think there would be any iPhone Developers here. Nice job, I heard about your game earlier today, never would have thought it was someone from TIF :)
  22. Perhaps I should add icons for Quests and and Achievement Diaries too. Anything else that is missing that people would find useful? However, I don't think this should be "turn every RuneScape icon into a forum emote icon." So there has to be a limit I guess. Current download can be found at http://Mil-an.co.uk/files/runescape.icons.cropped.zip.
  23. I believe this happened yesterday too :
