I'd say that the best-case scenario is probably the most likely to happen. A new game will bolster Jagex's profits and improve their reputation (mostly the latter).

I can guerente (excuse the spelling :P) this though what ever it is in the upcoming months there are going to be so many crappy rumours your not going to know what to believe. MMO's take ALOT to run, especially if they plan on running both games the same as they run Runescape. Updating weekly, keeping reasonable customer support. You would need 2 seperate teams and I dont think even Jagex has the financial capability to do that. My opinion is that it will be a Mech type multicombat game that is Java based, but not an MMO, more of a Quake Arena type game (basically a battle game is what I'm getting at). You mean, a game that goes Boom Boom? basically, a third person (or maybe first person) multiplayer shooter thing that is Java based. It would still beat out all the other Java games on the web if it used the same type of engine as Runescape.[/hide] 40k says it'll be an MMO. And it'll have a much more powerful engine than RuneScape has right now, because it's easier to create a powerful engine than to upgrade an old one like RS's.

I agree.... not very pleased about monthy fees. I'm not touching then, cant exactly afford monthly fees on top. Rs wasn't bad but im guessing this will be like wow. Tough luck, then, because 90% of worthwile MMOs have subscription fees of either 15$ a month or 12.95$ a month. I've heard that TR's improved since beta. Yes, Jagex doesn't focus on the main parts of runescape that needs improvment somtimes. There are more Graphic Updates than Good Quest, Add on's, and other additions to the site. The graphics updates are prepared by the graphics team, and the quests are created by the content team. The graphics people don't make quests, and vice versa. I'm pretty sure that the graphics team is far smaller than the content team anyway. Just because there have been more updates doesn't mean that Jagex is placing more effort in graphics than content and I doubt that graphically updating a town takes a lot of time and money.

Ugh. Look at my sig. Almost every single person in my school has, at one time or another, played RuneScape. It's not considered a nerd game, because then everybody would be a hypocrite :D .

Your joking right?, java isnt as limited as you think, but what makes you think there wouldnt be limits to what you could summon? (id guess 4 monsters max at aany time, but its likely to be only 1). +1. Java is not limited at all (see sig). The only limitation is the power of RuneScape's current engine (which isn't very powerful). Besides, the GWD has like 150 monster spawns. I don't see any server crashes.
