  1. Meh, herbicide isn't efficient but it's a lot of fun :P.

http://forum.tip.it/topic/276124-introductions-farewells/ You can post an introduction there. Welcome to the forums :). Locking this.
  3. In my opinion fun versus efficiency is not a debate. They are not mutually exclusive. They may not even be related (depending on the situation). Anyone stating that efficiency must come at a cost of fun is an idiot, plain and simple. Getting high xp/hr is fun to people, knowing that it is the fastest overall method, including moneymaking etcetera is too. However this efficient method may not be the most fun 'in action'. E.g. if you love A and merely like B, but B is a lot more efficient, then you could say the total fun from liking B + B being efficient > loving A. But that does not mean efficiency 'costs' fun. It also pays out in fun, the result is a net gain in fun. Something is efficient relative to a goal. The most efficient way to get 99 magic is to sell your red partyhat & use the highest xp method, this will get you to 99 the fastest. Trouble is most people don't just want 99 magic. They always want 99 magic on the way to something else. So when posting on H&A, you must make an assumption on what that else is. It is rarely mentioned at all. Personally I always assume someone will always go for higher levels. That eventually leads to max total, even if it is years away. I also never assume somebody is going to quit. I do not know who started the 'fun vs. efficiency' argument and frankly I don't care. But whoever it was, they don't understand the issue.
  4. I'll credit that to Zaaps :P. I believe steam was 40k/hr and not a large loss. You just use a lot of duelling rings.
  5. Yeah, the steel titan should go on the minions for sure. B2p is a good idea in any case, unless you are using a pernix/divine/unicorn setup.
  6. You mean the scroll reduced gp/xp by 1.5%, or the total cost for the bars to make one platebody by 1.5%? Because in the first case you get 4.4128, in the second case it's 3.94.

In response to the new question: that's why you use an arcane spirit shield :P.
  8. Locked on request.
  9. Moved to Website Updates & Corrections :).
  10. Levon, I'd say Losing has a little more experience in this than you ;).
  11. Well my inside man at Jagex (a real sweetheart, remind me to send him flowers) tells me there will be an item doubler for everybody with at least a gold star rank in two cc :-k. Short answer is: how should we know?
  12. Quyneax replied to Noxx's topic in Help and Advice
If you were using the setup you posted before, you should use arcstream + arcane spirit shield. Your magic attack really shouldn't be below 0 after that. I don't think it's worth using any Virtus at dks, just torva, and only a little of that. You are mostly limited by prayer at DKS, not health.
  13. That's the point :P. @ OP: Sadly/understandably, you need more than just turmoil to corp effectively. However turmoil is also very useful in getting those other stats.
  14. I got around 160-170/hr on task, ovl, rapier, turm, max str gear (ardy 3), unicorn. Though the unicorn alone or soul split alone also works.
  15. http://forum.tip.it/topic/291718-april-11th-2011/ That topic should basically answer your question :P. Locking this.
  16. Marketplace posts don't count for your post count, just for your active posts. They are separate numbers.
  17. Are waterfiends faster? Waterfiends are faster once you get an iron titan. Wyverns are always faster but you need turmoil or a unicorn, high stats etc.

The base slayer gear is as follows (alternatives in brackets): [For all slayer monsters except those mentioned under other weapons] Chaotic rapier (whip) Bandos body + legs (Verac's skirt with either fighter torso or proselyte top) [Depending on prayer/accuracy needs] Fire cape/Soul Wars cape/Ardougne cloak 3 Barrows gloves (your best rfd gloves, at least rune) Dragon boots (rune boots) Amulet of fury (glory) Dragon defender (rune defender) Berserker ring (i)/ferocious ring if slaying in Kuradal's Dungeon (berserker ring, warrior ring) [Most important] Full slayer helmet. [For magic defence on waterfiends/aquanites] Karil's top and elite void skirt (black dragonhide body and chaps) [Crush attacks to use on waterfiends] Chaotic maul (Saradomin sword, Zamorakian spear) [stab attacks for higher-levelled dragons, when not using rapier] Korasi's sword (Zamorakian spear, leaf-bladed sword) Task-specific items such as mirror shields, antifire shields/potions, elemental shields, rock hammers, crystal chimes Cannon (optional, up to personal preference) Slayer setups generally emphasise strength bonus, which increases the average damage of each succesful hit (slayer monsters usually having rather low defence, hitting is not a problem). Secondly, prayer bonus is important to keep the cost of prayer potions down (as you slay with piety on, to increase the speed of your kills. This is cost-effective and highly recommended). As a rule of thumb, +15 prayer bonus or above is good, but don't overdo it (anything above +25 is a waste). Defence and accuracy bonus are usually not fretted over (any defence bonus over 200 will do; if you get hit too often you should be using a protection prayer). Dagganoth, black demon, lesser demon, hellhound, bloodveld and spectre tasks should be cannoned, as it dramatically increases xp rates (although it costs a bit). Some notes on gear: You'll want a fury and a berserker ring before you get bandos plate, and get that before tassets. You'll want accuracy bonus on higher-levelled dragons; if using stab attacks (which you should) you can use the Ardougne cloak 3 which provides you with +6 stab and +6 prayer bonus. Torso + sw cape and fire cape + proselyte are common cheap top/cape combinations; the former is better. Some levels to get for slayer (in approximate order but I'm not sure on the summoning): 68 summoning - bunyip 81 dungeoneering (you need 2 million xp, which takes you to level 80, but allowing some tokens for the scroll of life) - rapier 89 herblore (85 with a +4 stew boost) - extreme potions, superantifires 95 prayer - turmoil and soul split 88 summoning - unicorn 96 herblore (91 with a +5 stew boost) - overload 99 summoning - steel titan I'm sure I missed something but this is most of it. I agree that extremes > gear. Look at the max hits for +122 strength bonus and no extremes (466 with whip on task, no fire cape/imbued ring, piety) versus 114 strength bonus with extremes (470).
  19. Don't burst, barrage or waterfiend or wyvern.

  21. I'm not sure if it profits right now but it could very well with the low nature rune prices. It's good magic xp for sure.
  22. Mining is convenient & profitable, which is always nice. It's a tiny bit faster too perhaps. Scentless doesn't do much.
  23. Zemus' AOW guide is still good I think.
  24. Bursting is not efficient with battle robes compared to waterfiends. Without battle robes it is only efficient if you make a lot of money and you need magic xp (you could also train magic by superheat-mining for example). Barraging is efficient until you reach an iron titan, however not with battle robes. Wyverns can be 140 crims/hr pretty easily I think, but that was on task. I have my charm logs in my notes in game but I can't reach those now as the servers seem to be down <_<. Will edit those in later. I remember 320 crims in under 40 minutes of which 106 tripled, or 162 per hour. Bursting and barraging become more efficient the less powerful your melee dps is. Because it doesn't depend on overloads or turmoil and stuff.
  25. All untradeable pots are higher xp than any other potion except superantifire, since you have to gather the feathers yourself. They are also cheap.
