Currently I'm only powering to one 99 - Mining. As to "why", that's hard to say. It's partially because it's been a goal of mine almost from the beginning, partially because it can be trained for virtually 0 cost (short of pickaxes) so it brings nothing but profit, and partially because I'm so close that I just want to get the damn thing over with! :P It has little to do with fame or hiscores ranking (especially now), but rather the setting of a goal and working towards it. That's hard to do in F2P so sometimes powering through it is your best option. That doesn't stop me from doing it other ways, and I often do that which is why it's taken so long. Also, I find mining iron to be relaxing. After a hard day of work, or a particularly stressful week, the repetitive action is kind of soothing. It's something I can do that I don't really have to think about for a couple of hours. It's just a happy coincidence that it's also the most effective way of training the skill. :grin:

It was discussed at length here and here. Basically, they seem to be more concerned with current paying players than long time members of the community, regardless of levels, contributions or fame. btw - TET changed a bit as well. Recently they have decided to focus more on monster hunting events. It was discussed here.

There's still the Rouge's Den, the Christmas event and the 12 Days of Christmas loyalty bonuses.

The bot nuke removed a large number of "players" and the online numbers haven't been the same since. Your sig doesn't work because you're probably not a member right now. Non-members no longer show up on the hiscores.

This is very true never thought of that! As far as I am aware Britain is one of the most lenient with the drinking age; most other countries (particularly english speaking ones) are 21 opposed to 18. It's 19 in most of Canada, but only 18 in Quebec. Quick, to Montreal! :grin:

That's the plan. I'm going to get another level every so often while I finish with Mining so I can get 99 and 1000 total at the same time. Speaking of which, I've got 785k xp left to go. When I hit 700k, I'll level up something else. Probably Dungeoneering again. I'm hoping I can get an Arcane Blast Necklace in time for the party. In more RS news, an old friend started playing again a few days ago. :grin: He got me into RS way back in the day, and first introduced me to Mining and Smithing. He hasn't been on in years and I thought he had quit for good, but he's back. I've suggested he join TIF, but for now he's happy to just use the tools on the main site. A lot has changed since he played last and he didn't have much gp left, so I gave him a couple of mil to help get him started again. Like I've always said, eventually everyone comes back. :lol:
