An update of this scope and magnitude should have never been given to a low-budget quick-fix team.

$10/month for RS or $15/month for a game like WoW...or free if you go Guild Wars or The Elder Scrolls Online... I get the increased costs and whatnot are pretty much unavoidable, but I feel very sad to see a large selling point of the game lost due to increasing costs. I'm exceedingly grateful for having the grandfathred rate, but you have to wonder if they could've staved off a price increase if they removed the grandfather rates altogether.

There are no atheists in Runescape as we know them in RL, exactly. Atheism might mean a refusal to believe in a deity, but it's also taken in the 'real world' to be a refusal that those deities exist. In RuneScape, they do exist. And Gielinor has proof of their existence, very much unlike the 'real world'. There are those in RS who refuse to believe in a deity. In a sense they could be considered atheists, but they're probably better described as antitheists (ex the Godless faction) since they actively oppose any and all of the known deities. Not just upjumped humans, aviansies, and ourgs either but deities like those of the Desert Pantheon, who have origins that (as far as we know) aren't connected with an object that enabled their rise to power. They oppose any influence of a deity in the lives of mortals, do not believe deities have any right to it, and believe that involvement is destructive in the lives of mortals. Those sentiments that define their group is much more antitheism than just atheism.

Yes, the guy who made the original speculation topic for the skill release cited job listings for a different game entirely, one that was described in a rough mechanical way to how the DG skill presented itself later on. It was by far one of the coolest topics I saw on Tip.it :D

Mostly the most glaring problem with construction is that there is a myriad of small ways to improve the skill, but they can't because of how poorly it was made to begin with. As a result, there's no real reason for them to dump the money into correcting the base problem unless they do an entire rework of the skill itself. I want a rework so construction can get the sort of cool little tweaks others skills get fairly regularly.

Personally the idea of playing as different races seems a bit silly to me. I can't think of how playing as different races would enhance the game. There is no min/maxing in runescape aside from skills themselves, which have a concrete cap at a far shorter timeframe than other games where races are a critical choice to your character type. If the combat/stats side of the game was different, that might make more sense. Otherwise it just seems like unnecessary fluff for older players who are bored, not really something that enriches the overall game experience.

So it does help. Since, you know, following the rules and all is something you're required to do here. If you have a low-end system running the game, the freezing you're experiencing is likely due to performance issues. Short of upgrading your hardware, there is little you can do. You can try programs like Gamebooster (http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.php) to see if that will help your old hardware go a bit further, but it doesn't work miracles.

Raise membership prices and stuff more promotions that people will actually buy down our throats until no one wants to buy those anymore? I don't know. The things they can do from this point onward to "up the ante" on Microtrasactions are too frightening to contemplate.
