fight them, and prove that you're no better than them talk to your friend. get the police involved; even if the police dont like it, it is their obligation to do something. better to eat your pride than get permanently injured or killed and what exactly are they trying to "settle"? whose better than who? regardless of reason, its beyond stupid to fight and possibly ruin your life over pathetic reasons

i respect your decision and everything, but think of it this way: work hard four years and enjoy the rest of your life, or, enjoy four years and work hard the rest of your life of course, i don't know what you plan on doing, so i'm not going to make any judgments, but its something to keep in mind Pft... Comon, you know that's untrue. So after you get your (let's say) doctor's degree, you can enjoy life. Wow... What a popular myth. Get rid of it...now. How easy life is depends on many factors, if you're a doctor or (let's say) an average 8-hour employee is very different. If you think the 8-hour is hard, try working in the ER for 3 days straight? Wow really something to enjoy huh? What I'm saying is, don't believe myths. They're just a bunch of bs (although some might be partially or fully true) designed to motivate youngsters. "I Didn't Promise You a Rose Garden" A book, whose title really describes life in my opinon. I'm quite aware of the stresses of being a doctor (or prettymuch anything medical related) and whats why i don't want to be a doctor. My quote has nothing to do with your idea of a doctor in that it has nothing to do with making money. its about enjoying life. many, many people have already stated that you need money in life. And you have to agree (no "be a monk" or silly responses like that, please). How do you make money? with a job. Sure, jobs make money, but what good is it if you do not enjoy your job? recieving an education gives the opportunity to... have more options in life, more opportunities to find something you'll really like to do, for the rest of your life also, i've volunteered at hospitals and i know that many of the doctors chose their jobs because they enjoy helping people. you're the one who should get rid of the myth

heh, you should get them to change it. In my school, no AP classes are really offered until junior and senior yr (soph year has one - US History 1ap, but they dont take the AP test, its a prerequisite to US Hist 2AP) Your school is a little odd (or maybe mine is just weird) - middle school finishes alegbra, and geometry starts in freshman year of high school. it goes geometry -> functions -> precalc -> calc 1ap -> calc 2ap the calc2 is for students who finish geometry in middle school AP classes are called AP because they can possibly give college credit - many colleges accept high AP test scores as proof that the student finished a college level course, and could possibly let him/her skip that class in college. doing so saves tons of money, but more importantly, tons of time btw, Serephurus, what grade are you in?

rather than looking at it as a bad thing, try playing with a good attitude. if your attitude stays negative all the time, it'll only get worse. try playing with a positive attitude, and maybe you'll like it. Plus, whats wrong with making new friends? if worse comes to worse, talk to your coach and try to enlist his help in getting you out

i have to admit, the earlier smart-[wagon] comments were just plain immature, but your response to them wasn't any better. on topic - i would check out ebay, or call a local gamestop. ebay is usually my first option, however. They can usually give u a good estimate on the values of all your items. Its not as easy, though, as just driving by a gamestop

i noticed the same thing, but it has always been like this. you'll always find people who care too much for their own good (not care as in worry, but care as in... intrude on other people) and, well, it reflects in their personality on these boards and even more likely in real life. I just pity them, for they, in an attempt to boost themselves up, try to look good. on the internet. on an mmorpg forum. to complete strangers that they will never meet nor recieve respect from in real life. sad, yes? inevitable, despite it all

Runescape Items: Not Applicable to Real Life? *gasp*
stan18 replied to Lunar_Drifter's topic in General Discussion
i think what you want to say is "real life isn't applicable to runescape" :D -

it is 0% jagex's fault. the responsibility lies solely on the player. this goes back to the court case about those teens getting "addicted" on happy meals, and blaming mcdonalds

that was when you could turn off chat and all the text will still be there, letting you find the people doesn't work anymore, now :/

i agree. the ones that annoy me most are the ones that think pointing out mistakes of any kind is a comeback, especially if its their only comeback. they judge on appearance and not content, and it annoys the hell out of me grammar nazis are the worst kind of smart [wagon] - you can't make fun of them in real life. i swear, i've never met a grammar nazi (or any smart [wagon], as a matter of fact) in real life that is liked, unless s/he is an english teacher.

i miss the 150+ iron drag tasks; i maged those all the time. I melee irons now, though, and ~40 isn't enough i also mage steels when i get them, buthropeing is usually really frustrating and takes almost as long as a 15 steel dragon task

i dont exactly have a solution for you but you do NOT want to drop out. It'll screw everything up even more talk to your guidance councelor and see if he/she can get involved

heh, funny, i percieve most people on these forums as middle ground/agnostic, albeit there are quite a few atheists here that do fight against anything spiritual

it annoys me when people care about what other people believe. Honestly, if they want to be popular, then its their lifestyle. Who are we to care, unless it directly affects us? And who are they but people with friends, no different than people who dont happen to follow their particular lifestyle? Its a little hypocritical on your side, and a little stereotypical (the last statement) Although people who care about what other people care do annoy me, i do not necessarily dislike them. There are a lot of other things that annoy me, but its not going to cause me to dislike them. Polemicals, for example, do annoy me, but i have a few good friends who argue a lot at every chance, but i could never say i dislike them dislike, like hatred, is a harsh word. i almost never use them both, unless its with food.

how does its speed fare vs. the abyss? -
The no child left behind act is officially considered inefficient, to a point where the president acknowledges its poor execution. However, it seems like during the next presidential election in the US it will be a big focus Note that the following opinion comes from a student who takes H/AP classes One of the major problems with the US school system now is the policy on testing, mainly, the retest policy. Homeroom i hear people say they're just going to fail the test and take the easier retest for an easy 70%. They learn less as a result, and even though those students pass school, their actual grade, per se, is reflected in state tests. students dont learn crap in school unless they want to, such as in H/AP classes. everyone in my classes take them because they take the classes seriously. teaching styles are bad, too. filler worksheets and mindless projects take up too much time yet very little comes out of it. When was the last time i made a poster for a presentation? uhh... eighth grade? the teachers are bad too, but there is little anyone can do; the demand for teachers is high while the supply is incredibly low

From your sig and your post I predict that you are someone who thinks that Pokemon is to childish to have fun with. Is it a bit childish? Not necessarily, like manoman's example, it can be a complex strategy game. Its mostly about what you have fun with. Do I like Pokemon? Ehh, not really. It was my second GameBoy game, and I have $100+ in cards (no offense, they were ok, and I liked trading them. The main attraction was that it turned my neighborhood into a marketplace  ), but as most things, it got boring after awhile. [/ramble] Boy, that was a (mostly unneeded) spread out thought process. do you know what phrase he's using? Oh crap, was that a famous line or something? I didn't know he was being sarcastic. Darnit, sorry, my fault. no, but its a phrase, and judging by your reaction, you didn't recognize it or its intent.
