30-Apr-2013 - Instanced God Wars & EoC Updates
For what it's worth, Nomad has suffered at the hands of this update. He takes longer to kill because of the whole accuracy thing, but his magic attack is woefully inaccurate against Barrows. He hits harder and more accurately with his melee attack but soul split can still just about keep up.

26-April-2013: Squeal of Fortune: Starfire & Starfury Weapons
Seeing as it doesn't say in the news post, you need 10k ores to make a weapon.
-
Starlight questions
1. You can obtain the ores (I would assume diamonds too) from the concentrated deposits in the LRC, not sure about from the creatures themselves. 2. There are plans for each weapon, so if you want to make all 3 weapons you'll need all three plans.

Behind the Scenes: April 2013
So the "hard mode" for GWD will see the fight mechanics become similar to those from TWW, what about Zilyana and Nex then? Granted Nex is unlikely to be changed but Zilyana had no TWW mechanics, could be a nice surprise for the first people who pay her a visit.

Not surprised in the slightest, very well deserved!

4th March - The World Wakes
For those who wanted to know what happens when you side with Zilyana (seems like I am the only one in the whole game who did): [hide]Pretty much nothing. Zilyana just says "Yes, finally someone around here who speaks sense. Go kill him quickly [player name]!" Zaros' followers accept your decision saying it gets them what they want regardless. Juna isn't so impressed. Death and Valluta send purple orbs after you in that chamber. As far as I can tell the cutscene is the same. Guthix says he understands why you chose to kill him and doesn't hold it against you and believes that you are good hearted. Pretty certain Saradomin didn't actually say anything about you siding with Zilyana, if anything he likes you the least of everyone afterwards. Juna and Guthix's other followers forgive you for your choice, saying that if Guthix could see the good in you, then they can too.[/hide] I'll check the NPCs you can talk to after the quest later.

It was said by Mod Pips in some clan chat that the first of the new skills would be released in Summer.

Cannon Help
Chaotics are the only T80 melee weapons outside of Daemonheim. Next best things would be Korasi's sword (78) or an Abyssal vine whip (75).

Ghosts Ahoy
Hi there, Sorry it has taken us a while to get round to this, I have made the correction to the guide and credited you both :) Thanks.
-
Am I the only one...
I did a Waterfiend task this morning and I tore through them with chaotic crossbow, broad bolts (royal bolts are better, but I had loads of broads left over) and momentum. Defensively I used Karil's and a unicorn and lasted the whole task without the need for food or prayer. Obviously I don't know your stats but the important things are: > High magic defence (Karil's top and body are good, costs about 1m for both) > Bolts + good crossbow (Chaotic, Royal or hand cannon) > Bunyip/Unicorn You're pretty close to a bank if you kill them in the Ancient Cavern so it's easy to get food/potions if you need them.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Seen a fair few films over Christmas, here are some of the better ones I've seen: The Hobbit - I thought it was decent, and then I re-watched the LotR films and it slipped down a bit. Good film but as others have said it was slow in places. I like Martin Freeman as Bilbo though. 7/10 MI: Ghost Protocol - Decent film, pretty much what you would expect from a Mission Impossible film. Much better than the second and third ones though. 6.5/10 Tangled - This is my Disney guilty pleasure . For some reason I just really enjoy this film. It's an entertaining, feel good film and I like the animation. 7.5/10 Mirror Mirror - I expected this to be terrible but it was actually a fairly decent film. It's not much different to most versions of Snow White but it was light hearted and enjoyable. Julia Roberts pretty much stole the show in terms of lines. Lily Collins is pretty cute too  7/10 Safe - A typical Jason Statham film, lots of fighting, shooting, running, driving, killing and gangsters. Entertaining and easy to watch. 7/10

RS not working on my Mac
The problem is that Mountain Lion and software mode do not like each other very much, it causes the game to lock up in the client and you can't even log in to change it. Similarly none of the browsers on Mac can play RS in software mode so they force you to auto-set up which causes them to crash. Basically the only way to fix this is to get the client to load the game in safe mode, however the client for Mac is temperamental and doesn't go into safe mode very easily (took me half an hour of trying last time). That should, in theory, fix it as once the game loads in safe mode you're able to log in and you can sort your graphics settings out (just don't put it back in software mode, use OpenGL :P) Good luck!

Recommendation About the New Tipit Website
It depends how wide your browser is. If you have it fairly narrow then all the links are on the bottom of the page but if you have it fairly wide then they are where they were on the old site (left hand side nav bar).

01 Oct, 2012 - Behind the Scenes October
Behind the Scenes – October Festival of the Dead - Members: This dark and twisted month begins in high spirits, as we introduce a new temporary holiday event to Gielinor: the Festival of the Dead. A Saradomin priest is hosting the event, and he’ll need your help to bring celebration to the graveyards of RuneScape. Paint skulls, let off fireworks and party in memory of RuneScape’s most recognisable dead characters! There are five old friends to commune with, should you have their quest requirements. Successfully celebrate a fallen comrade, and you’ll unlock a skeleton mask and double-XP multipliers when Prayer training, up to a maximum of 251,000 additional XP! King Black Dragon - Members: The caves leading to the King Black Dragon have been quiet of late, and the old dragon has been waiting for adventurers to fill his belly. We wouldn’t dare to deny him a snack, so we’ve updated the three-headed lug, his lair and his rewards. Go head-to-head-to-head with him and you might be the proud owner of some gloves and boots (with the highest Prayer bonus for their respective equipment type), ornament kits for the dragon kiteshield, a more generous drop table, and revealing lore about the fabled ‘dragon riders’. We’ll even toss in a teleport to the KBD from Edgeville, and a 10% damage multiplier if you’re brave enough to reach the King via the Wilderness. Dungeon Updates - Members: Why update one dungeon when you can update several? This month, we’ll be graphically overhauling four of the most intimidating dungeons that RuneScape has to offer: Taverley Dungeon Fremennik Slayer Dungeon The Chaos Tunnels Brimhaven Dungeon We hope you don’t get lost in the reworked dungeons. That would be a horrifying shame... Goblin Mobs and Goblin Update – Free and Members: You thought it was safe to loiter around the mining sites of RuneScape? You were wrong! Goblin Mobs will be springing up, and the green pests will be claiming the sites as their own. Go face-to-face with the grotty blighters, spy their new graphical rework, and kill them before they do something particularly nasty. If that doesn’t sate your bloodlust, travel to the reworked Goblin Village and take down some boss goblins! While the content is aimed at less-experienced players, there will still be rewards to tickle your fancy: combat XP, a suit of goblin armour, an axe, and two goblin shields - one of which will offer combat XP multipliers. So, you'll need to hunt those warty scallywags before they claim the free game as their own. What’s Mine is Yours – Free and Members: Among the ghosts, dragons, skeletons and spirits this month, one update stands out as being on the lighter side. You could even call it happy. Available to free players and members, What’s Mine is Yours will replace Doric’s Quest, retaining its themes but expanding the plot into something grand. Become Doric the dwarf’s business partner, investigating a cruel conspiracy that threatens to thrust him into bankruptcy. Get his business back on track and see it flourish, with Doric’s smith upgrading and growing to reflect your hard work. While the quest has low-level requirements, there’ll be post-quest orders for high-level smiths to complete, gaining you a lump sum of 13,000 Mining XP and 48,000 Smithing XP. You’ll also be the proud owner of a Gofannon amulet that awards double XP when Mining or Smithing, up to a total of 144,000 additional XP. Halloween Event: Haunted Houses – Free and Members This year’s Halloween event asks an important question: are you righteous or heinous? Pick a side and take part in a world-wide ghost hunt, cooperating with likeminded players to explore the houses of RuneScape, searching for escaped ghosts from the afterlife. Bust that ghost, feel good, gather its ectoplasm and score a vital point for your team so you can gloat over your opponents. Gain small amounts of Prayer XP and ectoplasm, which can be used to purchase reversible robes, displaying your team of choice (Go Team Heinous!), or the mighty ectoplasmator, a bonecrusher-style item that hands you Prayer XP whenever you kill a ghost, including Barrows Brothers and revenants. All you have to do is keep the ectoplasmator in your inventory. Duel Arena Tweaks – Free and Members: At the devil’s tail of this month, we’ll be making some tweaks to the Duel Arena. This is a spit-and-polish on the interfaces, including a couple of new features: a rematch button, making it easier to organise a revenge bout; and a function that saves your favourite settings with one click. Solomon Store Exclusives The hairstyle and facial hair systems are getting a makeover this week, as Solomon expands his repertoire to offer a range of amazing new avatar customisations. This includes 18 new hairstyles (10 female, 8 male) and 2 facial hair options, all supporting two tone colouring. The method of changing hairstyles & facial is also being overhauled, allowing you to change your style on the fly within the Customisation Interface Later on in the month, the dwarven warsuit pack will make you the toast of Keldagrim, as it includes some bulky mechanised armour, a shield, sword, metal crossbow, two emotes, two teleport anims and a title. We will also be offering a 'Choose Your Own Outfit' consumable. This item can be used on any of your favourite items to make them a cosmetic over-ride, in the same manner as the other Solomon Store items. Enter battle with a party hat or Halloween mask, when you are really wearing (and risking) a dragon full-helm, for example. You won’t be able to move for updates this month, and we’re confident that they will all send a chill down your spine. Have fun! Mod Mark RuneScape Lead Designer

Tip.it web glitch?
I tested it out on Safari and Firefox and they both worked fine, I also tried it on my Andriod phone for good measure and their weren't any issues. The only thing I could suggest it to make sure all your browsers are up to date or try Google Chrome.

Runescape wont respond on mac 10.8.1
There are issues playing Runescape with Java 7 on Macs (only effects Lion or higher) so your new iMac (depending how new it is) may already have Java 7 installed on it, in which case you should be able to downgrade to an earlier version. Software mode also does not work on Mountain Lion so that is another possible cause, so you could try booting RS in safe mode (hold cmd + s while the game is loading) and switching to Open GL if you get in. Hope this helps anyway.

Question about Elite Ardougne and Summoning boosts
Boosting your Summoning level via boosts doesn't grant you access to higher level familiars so unfortunately no, it doesn't work for this task.

GWD New and Updated Items

What age range do you fall into?
What about those of us who are 22? Where do we go? :P

Worth doing torstols?
Torstols are by far and away the most profitable herb at the moment, however they currently require you to average around 8 herbs per patch to profit so one death can cause you to make a loss. They also fluctuate a lot (the impending GWD update has sent them up). It is probably worth doing Torstols at the moment because of their value, however once they start to drop (and they will) I personally would go back to doing Snapdragons as their profit is fairly consistent and unless you have a farming disaster you should profit a decent amount every run.
