Meaningless. I wonder if I should get those last 3 levels to take up the rear guard.

Yes, I love the non-tradeable aspects of herblore and all the new herblore habitat non-tradeables. Its a great way to take the focus away from RWT and merchants and give it back to players who play the game. I think crafting, smithing, fletching should be next on the list. This is the only way in which I approve of Jagex making runescape more like WOW.

So much butt-hurt... Hey did you know spending time wisely has nothing to do with efficiency? Efficiency is all about banking on ones ego. Its dreaming up xp rates, working 9/5 for boss drops, preaching baseless spreadsheets, and telling everybody else they are stupid if they don't follow suite. And if you run out of money or somebody calls you out, just quit. Its efficient.

Fixed it up for you and now your good to go.

07-Dec-2010 - Warriors Guild and Dragon Defender
Golvellius replied to Michael's topic in General Discussion
It will dead by new years. Why cry over +5 attack and +1 strength? If you do feel like crying then please work on your onyx (i) ring if you don't already have one. -
Join the knuckle dragging chimp faced castle wars clan community. Hop onto world 24 and look for the clowns in arma with divine or elysian shield who drop cades behind them as they run for the hills. You can also identify lesser members when the cry "sad" if you attack them when they aren't near the flag. After you have located one just spam, "I want to be in your clan. I have good PID and can spam d spear." Or you can simply go in guthix and stay there because they stack one team, it wins, the noobs pile in creating a log jam at the portal, and then they move to the other team which just lost by 7-10 points. Your welcome.

Okay Efficiency Police..have a q about Herb
Golvellius replied to Grogthurk's topic in Help and Advice
Just lol at anybody blathering about extremes. He only has 62 herblore... To OP, what are you trying to do? 1) Make money? 2) Raise slayer xp? 3) Raise herblore level? 4) Be a total player? If you answered yes to 1 then delete them fricken spreadsheets. Holy bejeesus they will have you spending into oblivion because they think you'll be working 9 to 5 at bandos when your level 130. You'll hear some nonsense about opportunity cost, ignore it, and keep your eyes on the prize because a gp saved is a gp earned. If you answered yes to 2 then delete them fricken spreadsheets. Make your own pots. Its doesn't waste lots of time, its not like you'll be needing 10s of thousands of pots anytime soon. Pick at herblore. A level here, a level there. Opening up levels will allow you a greater variety of pots to level on. No need to slam 20,000 super restores to get at extremes. Extremes aren't going to get you 99 slayer. Making money to make extremes isn't going to get you 99 slayer. Doing slayer is going to get you 99 slayer. If you answered yes to 3 then ask yourself the following question. Would I rather spend way more of my time making money so I can buy the biggest fatest xp laden pot making scheme out there or would I prefer to spend more time mixing pots and harvesting xp at a more manageable xp/gp rate? If you prefer the former option, then by all means open the spreadsheet. If you prefere the later, then delete them fricken spreadsheets and stare at the GE instead. You can find gold there. Be warned herbs and pots go through starvation and crashes. So don't be thinking that you won't be spending more than you project. Taking your hard earned gp is about the only thing merchants do in runescape (they certainly don't play the game) and jagex gave them the GE system as a gift for their $5. If you answered yes to 4 then delete them fricken spreadsheets. Picking at skills, buy out of necessity not convenience, DIY, thats what a complete player is. You will know the game in and out and their is nothing more rewarding. If you just want to make money and buy skills like its a job then by all means they made spreadsheets for robotic gaming experience enjoy.... -
At 70 no. Come back when you have 80.

As for the runescape is babies game article, I couldn't disagree anymore. WOW is a babies game. Just mash buttons and make sure you pick the most over powered class. You won't learn anything in RS that can help you there. RS is more complex than that. RS has trade, a stock exchange, the constant need to learn and reinvent ways to train skills to maximize rewards and minimize boredom and cost. Most importantly ,RS is one of the few games were you can carve out your own way in the mmo world instead of being a scrub. As for graphics, if you played the games I had as a kid, then you would realize that the graphics aren't that bad. Gameplay is everything.

 Updates for gangs of teenage boys who dream of being like their favorite rapper won't amuse me. I'm going to need a bigger ignore list while they are at it. -
07-Dec-2010 - Warriors Guild and Dragon Defender
Golvellius replied to Michael's topic in General Discussion
+5 attack and +1 strength is disappointing. I guess it will help the whip a little and maybe the crapier since its stats aren't that much greater. Looks like Clong and shield for me as usual, although I will eventually stop by and pick one up. Also, where are the great additions to the guild? Pretty pitiful update... -
5:5 dung formulas are boring. I'd rather see a hidden formula entailing the butchering of base xp for complexity <6 and less than 5:5 conditions. Also, I'd love for jagex to explain the need to run through lower level floors for next to nothing xp. The whole prestige system sucks. If they didn't want people grinding a small number of floors then they failed miserablely because people c1 most of the floors and play only a few....

Would Runescape still be here without Fan-sites?
Golvellius replied to Danqazmlp's topic in General Discussion
Definitely in runescape's infancy, fan sites were important. Jagex neither had any advertising or any knowledge base/forums. Tipit was certainly a key source of information at that time. Nowadays, it's not so important and tipit has become an opinion depot and apparently the home of efficiency trolling. You know the place where every thread about hypothetical situations turns into "this is not worthy of discussion" or "you sir have a non-argument, I deny your creationist views". -
6 months cultivation.
Golvellius replied to aerendil's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Grats. Although you probably should have waited till the end of this month to see what the updates do to them before plunking down rediculous amounts of gp... -
Don't worry you can't take credit for this not matter how much you want to. As for elite, nice try to glorify the label your now stuck with. However, lets get real and understand that elite and elitism is born from arrogance. Arrogance is born from pride. One can have pride in any achievement regardless of whether or not it is recognized by others. However, an arrogant person just can't stand not being appreciated or recognized by others for this achievement. So they rub it directly in other people's faces to garner a reaction. And when they don't get a reaction that they can interprete as appreciation to satisfy their swollen egos then they are driven to seek out others who are like minded. And when a bunch of arroganant people congregrate into a small community to recognize this common achievement, welll then the elite banners start flying. And when the larger community doesnt appreciate the elite community and what they represent then elite community heads for the "high ground", trying to wall themselves off from the people that just don't stroke their egos. I believe there is a famous fictional story, Atlas Shrugged that is a good depiction of what I am talking about. I have only heard of it and read the synopsis . So, I can't comment on the exact details.

Sure. 1.) Every stimulus inherently leads to boredom. Boring is the state of being saturated with the same stimulus for extended periods of time. Fun is simply a personal measure of how long you can enjoy the exposure. If you liked the movie Avatar, then watch it again and again continuously for the next 307 days and then tell me how you aren't bored. 2.) I can, but I really have to ask if you want to see that part of him? 3.) I can prove that you can log into runescape and not be involved in competition. I could simply use RS as a chat client. You can't prove the contrary.

Simplist solution would be to allow the guy at mobilizing armies to write over the enchantment with his own.

One Handed Non-Chaotic Weapon to use on Iron Dragons?
Golvellius replied to iuqiddis_sm's topic in Help and Advice
Stab. Korasi's sword? Leaf-bladed sword? If not your just going to have to wing it with a whip. -
Except the experiment you conducted up the page just... uh oh cracks! Better cover up fast for the sake of all them dps equations that you been integrating out of regular distributions. Don't try your experiment again with just a whip on a person with 350+ slash def. Don't even think about the enchanted diamond bolt special and if its special has the same mean damage as regular hits.

Preliminary Analysis of Damage Soak And DDefender (Safe PvP)
Golvellius replied to TheAncient's topic in Data and Research
Well... at least you got the shape of the curve right. But, my farseer kite will soak 49 when I am hit with an ags special for 550 (8.91%) not 20 (3.7%). -
Christmas sale on little green transparent shields. Rebirth of barrows armour. Return of the "OFMG DEFENSE IS OVERPOWERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I will be amused by the damage reduction update.

Its a game. If you disrespect me in a game, call me a bot, call me all kinds of names because I didn't do EXACTLY what you wanted, then I am going to F with you. Let there be no doubt, that I can be the biggest ass in runescape. Its a matter of personal pride of course. Nothing you elistists can't understand...
-
Uh no, you hardly learn anything from level 1-60. You learn basic skill mechanics, which is not tantamount to knowing how to dungeoneer. I know the rules of football, but that doesn't make me a pro football player. Dungeoneering is definitely not the same from 1-60, 60-99, or 99-120, and arguing to the contrary shows just how little you know about it. Face it. You called somebody an idiot for having level 60 dungeoneering and not 120. Its your opinion. You can have. Even if it makes you look like an idiot. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Fishing Efficiency Depend on Number of People?
Golvellius replied to Brett0wnz's topic in Help and Advice
that's obviously false, because spots will move around even if no one is fishing them, as well as if you are the only person there they can move while you are currently fishing the spot. Yes they move around on their own. But, that doesn't mean that you don't influence them. I can almost predict when a spot I'm on is going to move. I will be when one of the guys on my spot goes to a bank and comes back. Right after he starts fishing again bang it happens more than coicidence. Its real obvious if you fished at catherby a few years back when it was crowded. You could see a huge crowd of people have to jump 2-3 times if the spot moved on them before it would settle down.
