Why don't you go back to arguing semantics on the word emergent? You don't have a leg to stand on here. There is a big picture in front of your face in but your too blind to see it. Like the old saying goes, you can always lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
-
-
Of course they do. Our self proclaimed experts prance in here, call every thing stupid/wrong, then argue semantics, make up new meanings for words when it doesn't quite work out, and finally cut and paste incoherent crap they find from other self-made experts on wikipedia when the house of cards starts to wobble. Before you know it they fill up page after page with this idiocracy. I'm sure this thread is heading for page thirty something of "what is emergent?" just like "what is efficiency?".
-
And using a cannon to kill something in the game is unique? Worthy of tacking on new meanings to old words. I don't think so. If you stuck flowers under the cannon, invited your friends over, and praised it as an effigy to the god of efficiency in return for his holy blessings and divine spreadsheets, then I might. I only offered a tip since somebody was blathering about their beloved rapier. But, now they changed their tone and it's all about the chaotic xbow.

Jagex's new bot punishment: Level resetting
Golvellius replied to The_Gabe's topic in General Discussion
Only part of what you wrote that is true. They ban not roll back. You just found a glitch in the adventurer log... imagine that. -
And I find it equally disappointing that people are sheep who will believe anything that put into front of them because its from a "credible" internet souce. I wonder how many times holocost deniers have gone into the Nazi/Adolf Hitler pages and changed the definition of "the final solution" from genecide to getting new upholstry for Hilter's sofa in 1944. I remember when Sinbad the entertainer had to go on tv and profess that he wasn't dead because somebody started a rumor over the internet. But, you know what, you can go argue with Jagex about what you think emergent means. From now on when I see bug abusing half wit or a clown faced money grubber I am going to call them an emergent gamer. And when I see somebody profess to be an emergent gamer, I am going to call them trash. Works for me.

Yes of course, wikipedia is always right. If they say emergent gameplay is bug abuse and real world trading then it must be, its so obvious. Role playing... hell no. Finding ways to abuse stupidity to max out your score... emergent.

Welcome to tipit 2010. The clownfaced elistest with far less than a clue about things have moved in. Not really surprising that the first page of replies that are nothing short of efficiency trolling. (e.g. nightclub must mean stripclub) Any thread that starts with fun is guaranteed to be packed with "thats stupid"/"waste of time" replies. Anyhow, I used to use buy stuff from mining companies back in the day and run some rune ess for people. It was kind of fun. I thought it was more roleplaying and such for kids so I never got much into it. Glad to see that trade restrictions didn't kill it off. I guess have to look a little farther down the RSOF forum list more often. I usually just get stuck in the mod section and then move on.

My goodness, this is a completely different game...
Golvellius replied to koddo1's topic in General Discussion
Give me a break, I doubt you have even played it since they made the changes. The only thing they screwed up was the high score table. Overall, they made a few changes that reward the average player (aka the castlewars pker) and the stacker clowns cry. You don't need billions to play. It doesn't cost much more to play today than it did in 2006. Barrows is about the same price and ice barrage is probably even cheaper. If you mean the spirit shields, well they aren't that good. PVP armour and weapons are cute but don't really matter that much except for say miasmic barrage from zuriels staff. Choatic items of similar quality are free. Frankly, today's beasts of the game wear the profound armour set. That by the way is earned through countless hours of castle wars combat which is quite fitting. Finally, themed worlds were a blessing to castle wars. It was all but dead in worlds other than the crowded ones at the top of the list like 2 & 6. So no more try and try again to log on to world 6. -
Internet gurus are a dime a dozen. I'd rather just stick with something tangible like the monster that lives under bridges in children's fairy tales. If you act like a troll (ill tempered, agressive, foul mouthed) then I think the name fits.
-
Only way your going to abuse that is if you can log into a PVP or bounty hunter ftp world. Can you do that and retain stats?

what would the efect of the world gate oponing?
Golvellius replied to Kata_Phfract__the_slayer's topic in General Discussion
To the clown faced replies: Questions often lead to discussions. Dismissing a thread because it starts with "what if" is idiotic. On topic: The world gate is just a convenient plot device for jagex. They want to add something new they "open a world gate" and out fall a bunch of pests. Jagex will never do anything with guns, tanks, etc, because they stick to D&D midevil fantasy although they use modern cultural references as jokes. They don't do phantasy star/final fantasy type games. I'm more interested into going into the world portal and going to the realm of demons or the frenskae (sic) world where the dragon weapons are made. -
I don't think dungeoneering lends itself to autogrouping. There is way to much customization and the dungeoneering xp reward system is horrible. There should only be 3 kinds of dungeons: monster annilation, rush against a time limit, and resource harvest. Your score should clearly be based on objectives completed for those 3 themes. Autogrouping for that would be easy. Instead they went with wowscape dungeoneering. Now that the novelty has worn off, dungeoneering is just a grief festival. Boost solo rewards and lets get back to the real runescape.
-
Synergy is when two things produce a better result when used together then when used separately. If there isn't a free world then you don't have a leg to stand on.
-
Only if there is a free world. Graardor wouldn't be a good example of that. And loot share worlds.
-
Well, since you changed the subject of this thread from clown efficiency to what benefits the runescape community, I'm back. Wrong. Throw away your economics books its destroyed your common sense. If the runescape community benefits from more drops of items then having both players work together would bring drops faster into the game. More people, more kills per hour, its common sense. BTW, your welcome. Token answer from someone stuck inside a box. Try thinking outside of it sometime. If they both killed it together it would die faster and respawn more times per hour thus increasing the output of bandos junk. A balance of competition and cooperation are what successful societies are based on.

Alternitive (More Fun?) Firemaking Training method.
Golvellius replied to nothnxtoyou's topic in General Discussion
Can you make it from lumbridge to white wolf mountain with your rules? Can you make it from catherby bank to piscatoris colony with your rules? Yes of course when a title on this forum has "fun" on it you should post how stupid it is because you obviously know better. Thanks for the chuckles as usual, clown. -
And this is accurate? I seriously doubt it. It looks more like social commentary in commical map form.

Chaotic melee weapons degrade when your in "combat". You probably spend less than half of your time in "combat" in single zones. Most of the time is spent looting, locating the next monster, and navigating to the next monster. I usually spend about 40% of my time in "combat" and thus I degrade my cls at a 4% clip per hour. If you 1 hit things like goblins you can slow the degrading of your weapon even more. I spent about 2% in an hour looking for a champion scroll. Shields are slightly different. Again you only degrade in combat and the rate probably doubles on periods where you soak damage. For reference, I can mage a whole soul wars game with farseer shield and usually loose about 1%. However, if I spend a soul wars game with a ranger on me and constantly soaking damage in melee crowds then I have spent up to 4%. Top slayers spend around 3300 seconds of an hour(3600 seconds) in combat(by the number of hit's they deal) in single way combat, and the weapons still don't degrade more than 6% an hour. You must be really terrible at slaying.... numa numa numa You always put a smile on my face when you follow me around on these forums. Don't worry I won't follow you, afterall I lead you follow. BTW, you sure its only 3300 seconds an hour instead of 3301 seconds? I think you need to learn to click faster, it's making you look bad.
-
Haven't had that problem. Maybe its a PMod fringe benefit? I do report obscene names. I'm just not going to look at your failed account if one right click followed by a quick couple of lefts and your gone.

200 pages isn't the limit. There is a thread up in the stickies that is 369 pages. Somebody hit the abort button.

18-Oct-2010 - Partying is Such Sweet Sorrow (Halloween 2010)
Golvellius replied to Michael's topic in General Discussion
Must of been a miserable update if they are still putting game fixes in at this hour. -
Sometimes. But, its alot harder nowadays. Wish I had alot of my old ranks. 60 agility, 300ish strength , 400 overall. Takes some serious no-lifing nowadays to get there.

Your Math and Numbers are Way to Biased i am not buying any of it. '85k average for f30-47' lol. 58 mins for f1-30 rush in 58 mins - You spend 15-17mins Just loading the floor. i realy hate to pull the level card but dude....your only 92 dung so i doubt you know what your talking about more than i do. i you wanna do 25 min larges and 60 min c1s maybe you should use a 100+ dung clan more often 30 floors in 58 minutes is fiction. You can wave your level card back and forth till your blue in the face but nobody is buying that load of bs.
