  1. Leeching off another party and hoping to steal their drops is "the best of the best"? I've been doing it all wrong.
  2. If party hats cost what they do now several years ago, this would be true. However, party hats did not cost billions, and so the actual amount of exp/time needed in the past to have earned enough to be worth several billion gold today is much lower than your figure. Instead of earning a billion gold, they earned perhaps a couple hundred million, or less, bought rares and sat on them for a while. Runecrafting used to be insane profit p/hr too... I'm fairly sure you could earn a lot more than 1m/hr with 91 rc and a lot of runners.
  3. It doesn't say anything about alters no, but it does say they can be used on the ectofuntus without grinding the ash or putting it into pots, which makes it A LOT faster... Depending on the xp rates, it might even be better than a gilded alter, which is already worse exp than the ectofuntus, its just a lot faster. If its even close to comparable to dragon bones on a gilded alter, I might be tempted to use them.
  4. I've always wondered what a dung account would look like. That's really cool, I imagine it's a bit slow at the beginning?
  5. I saw it in another thread, but Jagex said they were going to ban merch clans officially. Whether or not that does anything is a different story. That's my concern.. you can ban something as much as you like, but I doubt it will make much of a difference see; Botting. On-Topic though, personally I really like the guide line of a middle price, but that's really all it should ever be seen as. It does seem slightly invasive to keep a middle price, as if Jagex endorses items being sold at a certain price, but I'm not sure how else it could be done to effectively give a ballpark estimate of an item's worth. As long as everyone understands its just an estimate I don't think there would be an issue. Perhaps a system would work better that shows the minimum and maximum prices an item has sold for within the time from the last GE update to the next (accounting for outliers, of course) and allow people to determine their own selling price based on the information of the max and min values, as opposed to the middle value... I don't know if that would actually change anything except keep prices slightly more inconsistent, but it might remove the sort of feeling that a price is being imposed upon someone....
  6. So... many... spec restores. Yer bank is pretty though. 10/10
  7. That new crossbow sounds delicious. And I like the bonus combat xp gloves :D
  8. That would require questing though. With the aversion many players seem to have to quests, and the fact that the quest of this topic requires numerous other quests be completed first to give a sizable amount of quest points (nearly all of them if the newb in question is f2p, which they ought to be if they're poor enough to be satisfied collecting ashes rather than splitting granite or picking flax...) Basically nobody that would consider getting ~12-13k of shields over the span of 5 minutes of dialogue spam-clicking to be worthwhile moneymaking actually meets the qualifications. That being said though, many people prefer getting 15k fishing xp an hour totally afk over paying attention to the game and getting maybe 70-90k xp instead, so I could definitely see where somebody might be just the right level of newb to benefit from your suggestion. You can obtain an anti fire shield without questing, iirc.
  9. This tool is really handy for summoning calculations.... It's kinda awkward at first but once you get used to it, it's really useful. http://users.telenet.be/glodenox/Charms/CharmPattern.html
  10. You know, in the hyt chat I've been calling you bronze for months. My bad. Congratulations on the first! Hope to see fletching soon too!
  11. LL? what happened? P.S: Misspelled "ranarr" in your sig I dunno what happened. I logged on after not playing for about a week, and everything was gone, except 20m cash and a lot of useless junk(the total items in my bank from full to capacity to 208 items xD), presumably, I got keylogged. Although, I only had like a day of membership left before I went away for a week, so whoever did it, moved quick. Most items that couldn't be traded were dropped.. although I'm curious why they left the torso and fire cape, considering that everything else I could have used to rebuild is gone. PS-I've had the same signature for years, and I know it's misspelled, but it's fun and nostalgic, and I can't be assed to fix it.
  12. The fastest method I found was full dharok, melee protect, and a spirit terrorbird with plenty of tireless run scrolls. Use nitroglycerin or unidentified liquid to get your hp very low, then throw up melee protect and piety and go to town. I also found that it sped up kills to put a cannon up close to where the mole spawns, to help deal some fast damage early. I've tried a zspear, and I enjoyed dharoks more, but the 17m pricetag might be a bit too much. In that case, zs is the way to go.
  13. Gf? I had ~120m networth. New BoB. I guess someone got a hold of my password... Idk why choose me of all people.. I'm hardly exceptional. Oh well. Not worth it to me to rebuild on this account. Time to move on. GF Reddawn509. We had fun.
  14. The prayer restoring necklace sounds interesting. Probably not too useful for bosses (although if the type of bone buried increases gains, it could potentially replace a few prayer potions, leaving room for other things, which may lead to longer runs..), but might be useful for slayer if you're trying to save some potions..
  15. I've been killing the mole a lot recently, and the z spear is pretty good. However, my personal favorite set up is using full dharoks. With protect fro melee there's little risk of you dying, and you can get pretty quick kills with it. Also, to speed up kills a bit, I put down a cannon in the center where the mole spawns, it adds a lot of damage very quickly, which helps keep playing the "find-a-mole" game down to a minimum. Generally, with dharoks, super strength and attack potions and a cannon I can kill the mole within 0-2 digs, which is pretty nice.
  16. Isnt that why you would do it on double xp weekend? I suppose. What I was trying to say is that time could be much better suited and gain much more experience in that amount of time if it were devoted to something else. 30k an hour feels like a waste of a double exp weekend. But, if that's what you want to do, go for it.
  17. I feel for you. Soul Wars for zeal is so boring. I hope it's worth it, although I might suggest either 40 attack, or 20 attack and using a corrupt vesta's longsword. It'd be an expensive build, but super fun with 20 attack and 99 str, it could do some serious damage. Getting 20 attack would add 4 combat levels, which really isn't that big of a deal. Good luck keeping your sanity during the long soul wars haul.
  18. graahking with 82 RC, I generally pull in ~17k exp per hour.. So, on double xp.. ~32k an hour? Tbh, spend your weekend doing something else. RC is painfully slow, and the time could be better used in another skill.
  19. Get 70 attack and strength. The combat of a tank with 99 defense and ranged and 1 attack and str is the same as one with 99 def and ranged and 70 attack and str.
  20. Unless you're planning to use chaotic equipment, I'd stick with 75 attack, or max it out to 99. And I'd definitely recommend picking up turmoil, it'll be worth the combat points. If you maxed strength, attack, and had 95 prayer you'd be 118 combat before summoning. If you kept 75 attack with maxed strength, and 70 prayer your final combat will be 107, and finally if you had 75 attack and 95 prayer your combat is 110, which isn't bad I'd say, 80 attack would bump you up to 111, but still worth it for chaotic weapons.
  21. When I made 20k gold amulets, I got speeds of approx. 1.1k/hr which is.. pretty slow. But, they DO sell very quickly, which is better than not selling any at all.
  22. Well, as I'm sure you know, crush weapons are essential for effectively slaying waterfiends. Most people assume that to do this effectively, you've got to use either a Saradomin Sword, or a Zamorakian Spear. These two are technically the best, and if you can find someone to loan you one of them for a few hours, or even a day, you'll be set. However, another good alternative is the dragon mace. It's slower than either the spear or the sword, but it has decent stats, and a great special attack. With your summoning, I can also advise a good tactic to the get most out of your inventory space (assuming you've not unlocked fairy rings) Fill your inventory with a super attack and strength potion, ~6-8 prayer potions, alching runes (I generally bring enough for 50 alchs, you won't use that many, but it's a nice round number), a spirit terrorbird pouch (NOT summoned, just hold onto it until you get into the ancient cavern), a one click tele ( a charged glory works well here to save space) and the rest of your inventory with the best food you can get. Once you enter the cavern, summon your terrorbird, and fill it with a few fish, and a few prayer potions, to give you room for all of the drops available from waterfiends, the more you can pick up, the better your profit. Alch any armor or staffs that you drop, and adjust your inventory and whatever's in your terrorbird according to your needs. I did this before I got 68 summoning, and could get anywhere from 20-40 kills depending on shark drops, which isn't too bad. Or, you can just skip it until you feel comfortable in your stats to do it well. Good luck. Edit- you skipped. Ah well, might be useful anyways..
  23. 129-130-437-61235247 Nice. I'm excited for the updates this month.. although I kinda wish I'd actually tried to level my dungeoneering now..
  24. Hahaha It also told me my credit card expired, which I know for a fact is not true. unless... no... We've jumped 3800 days into the future
