  1. Phat set will cost more gp than you can own. Will be super multithreaded, and use all 800% of your octacore CPU.
  2. I forgot them - go dual melee/mage - melee until no longer aggressive, then safepot and mage them (crumbles preferred).
  3. Given that members can craft soft leather to studded, maybe soft works better there, for F2P, the highest item is the hardleather body.
  4. If you woodcut (especially cut/burn training), take 3 rows (or more) of good food and full armour. When you get a tree spirit, kill it - they can drop 22 Nats in one go, a decent axe, or a useless banana.
  5. NEVER rely on a link in an email - I got a paypal scam the other day (telling me I'd been paid for something), which failed miserably because: 1. I don't even have paypal, since it is such a scam magnet. 2. I view email in plaintext, so the link I was "supposed" to click wasnt visible. 3. I thought it fishy, and pasted it to spamcop for an analysis (which found the obfuscated link). Always go to any site by the link you KNOW, not one you are given
  6. Got me baffled, is fire wave BETTER than the ancients spells at similar level? Would have thought ancients would be considered more dangerous.
  7. Goblins now drop them, so yes, bolts = bronze bolts. For balance, they should have opened up Iron bolts to F2P, with the basic crossbow doing Bronze & Iron, like the basic bow.
  8. A lot of players in a small area, which if it doesn't attract randoms, certainly means more will be seen. Repetetive. Switching activity (cooking), Not talking. Talking rubbish. All things which seem to have a random increasing effect. Saw one level 3 there (default outfit) with level 75 fishing and no other ranked stats... fishing pure, or pure autoer?
  9. There are members mage armours for all levels... Mystic at 20 defence, Infinity at 25, I think splitbark is 30, lunar is 40 and of course the piece de resistance, Ahrims at 70. Infinity and lower do not provide any melee defence, while splitbark and above generally do provide melle defence, but all mage kit is weak against ranged.
  10. Lots of em... As a noob, got pwned twice (or 3 times?) on Rune Mysteries, by Varrock wizards and Draynor guards. Doorslam death to a shade in the Wizard tower, from burying just one spare bone. A couple of deaths to tree spirits, losing out on "last hit" showdowns that I should have run from (lost my 1 day old power ammy to one!).
  11. In 8 months though, so I guess it scrapes by, so be closer to 17 when (or even IF). Not wishing ill on anyone, but one month is nothing, at least in all the TV shows, it's the "don't tell anyone yet, just in case" stage. The old saying "marry in haste, repent at leisure", seems to need rewriting for today's world. I hope you have the strength and commitment to see you though.
  12. Well, if that's you in Frog princess and fancy boots, then that's far from the typical autoer look - maybe a good tip for genuine skillers, wear random clothing, maybe full mage, leather or bronze, anything other than "raw" character clothes.
  13. Steel can go as cheap as 12 gp at full stock, while Mith, I believe, can go as cheap as 32 gp - had a lucky streak when trainin range, finding a world with a barely used store. If low level rangers are training, they may not be able to use mithril, so the price of lower arrows is driven up by the low stock, while mithril is not.
  14. Don't go large on hitpoint-free training (curses, alchs etc.) unless you want to hybrid and gain hitpoints another way. If not yet through tutorial, drop the runes you are given, and get more, collect about 6 lots, that should get you to level 3 out of tutorial. Actually, I'd also raise strength to 3 in the rat cage, and attack to 8 on the dummies (hitpointless) so that a steel pick can be wielded for mining and no less pure once mage leads. The mage quests are crucial (Witch's potion & Imp catcher), as is Doric's (buy/pick up the 2 Iron and you can then move up to a steel pick), cooks assistant and of course, Rune Mysteries. The Imps for Imp catcher are the best chance of a mind talisman, then RC airs and minds and use then to strike from safety. In F2p, there is no mage kit with defence requirements, so defence is useless for the mage. In members, you may prefer to be a mystic mage (20 def), though that means using expensive kit. There are some other items that can be used in a 1-defence kit for members, such as a Zamorak robe bottom, or Ghostly robes (though it seems impossible to get them without getting prayer).
  15. I would have expected the standard crossbow (F2P) to be capable of firing bolts up to iron or perhaps steel, and those to be sold in the stores that supply arrows. Or perhaps bronze bolts to be made F2P smithable to answer the old "hard done by rangers" argument that: Warriors need no ammunition, mages can runecraft their own low level (up to fire strike) ammunition, while rangers cannot make any ammunition. I also wondered if the use of blurite for something other than a quest would see the ore becoming tradable, which would be interesting, given the arduous mine it comes from.
  16. I thought Initiate was the "Recruitment drive" armour, though since that has only 3 pieces, filling the rest up with white knight may be useful. As I understand it, Initiate is similar to Mithril, but with Monk robe prayer bonuses, while white knight is the same as black armour, but with +1 prayer on each piece. So the actual req's would seems to be: Initiate: "Recruitment drive" quest & 20 defence White Knight: "Wanted" quest & 10 defence - reaching higher levels is required to open up the armoury further, but not to waer the pieces if bought from other players.
  17. Strongholding on my low level mage pure. Great idea, I'll take binds, attack and bind the ankous and get into the the safe spot, but as soon as your bar goes away, another one can attack... another k of runes down the drain!
  18. Trouble is, if you train or fight with a "rare" character now, you will lose the rare-ness (except for mage curse & alchs etc.). Pretty sure the "wine trick" no longer works, so no more super attack / no extra hp workouts.
  19. Usually, the only way to do really well from reward sites is to abuse them, ok until they limit clicks. For a while, one that gave a few pence credit for each ebay bid was a target of mine. The condition (at the time) was that the bid had to exceed the reserve but didn't need to win. So I tended to hunt for "no reserve" items that started stupidly low, especially with 1 bid (probably a proxy) that I could re-bid against, knowing that a brand new computer was never going to go for under ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã10. You probably can pay for membership using reward sites, but getting clickthroughs that count is a lot tougher than it used to be.
  20. How about a series.... 1. Falador wars - Durial's massacre 2. Falador wars - Jagex strikes back 3. Falador wars - The return of Durial Followed by another 3 about events before the first one
  21. The edgeville route passes through level 4 wilderness, and is definitely faster than falador - partly because there are so many trees on tha fally route, that you waste time zigzagging. Not come across any really serious opposition, though you do need to be ready to run (CTRL click) and always save some run energy. Main hazard is getting maged or ranged. Curses may be cheap XP, but curses don't get kills - my mage is now able to wind blast, but I still carry fire strikes by the thousand, to knock down anything from safe cover.
  22. You may need to ASK Oziach where you can get the shield, before the Duke will offer it to you. Also, as said, currently, the Duke will not offer it to you if you already have one, on you or banked, but does not notice if you are carrying them noted. I stocked my mage up with a load, by dropping and asking again, since it also serves as the de-facto F2P mage shield. No intention of completing the quest on my mage pure.
  23. Get some other skills, as you are either an ace merchant, exceptionally lucky with good paying drops, or are in flagrant breach of rule 8 (or have a mystery benefactor). I'm experimenting with studded legs (20 ranged) on my F2P mage pure... for the -5 attack penalty, defence is raised by more, better than any other item substitution in the F2P kit - though a power ammy in place of a mage one comes pretty close ( -4 from mage to power, +6 defence). Though level 20 dark wizards still attack me, most attacks just bounce off.
  24. 99 defence and dragon armour won't save you from the moderators if you keep over-bumping! Defence and Prayer are generally against the objective of a pure, though prayer works a hell of a lot better in members (Prayer pot recharge) than it does in F2P. The appearance of a protect prayer above your head though, is likely to cause your opponent to run.
  25. An insignificant effect - though 10k multplied by all the players who MIGHT do it sounds a lot, the distribution means that: 1. Higher level players will barely notice an extra 10k 2. Lower level players are probably covered for their next lot of equipment.
