  1. Boots are easy, even for lower levels - look at the maps on the RS KB and plan the shortest route. The "airlock" type spaces between the pairs of doors are 100% safe, so eat and line up the next move there. You can complete all the levels without killing a single cmonster, to obtain all the level cash rewards, the boots, and portal access to all levels. Range or mage works pretty well on the first level, with some good cover spots, and the frequent Iron arrow (also bronze) drops make it ranger heaven - almost guaranteed to leave with more arrows than you came in with. The other levels have no safe spots at all, other than a few examples of blocking, though monsters will often switch on you. For the C.. (cow things) on the third level, range or mage may prove a way of getting around their extreme weakening powers. On the fourth level, crumble undead may be worth a try.
  2. I remeber reading (but can't find it) that support for some older models on one network was being withdrawn - can't remember which though. Other than reseating the SIM (always worth a try), then it is either faulty, or one of the obsolete models that is now suspended. Also try the sim in another (unlocked) phone if possible, or try another SIM in the phone - look for cheap / free PAYG sims for the the same network, to be sure it's not locked against. If Contract, should be possible to get a discounted/free upgrade.
  3. The website is also completely amateurish - on one page it headlines it as $3 on another, $4 - also spotted a broken link (file on C:....) Move along sir, nothing to see here - these forums and the market boards will probably serve you better.
  4. Certainly, I would support 99% of what is on that page. Immigration is an inadequately controlled, mismanaged mess, made worse by shyster lawyers abusing the ill conceived "human rights" act. The Aussies have it right, they don't want you, you don't get in! Or we should have a "resident alien" status, like the USA. The EU - bureaucratic waste and cross border meddling, rampant fraud, inefficiency and incompetence. Personally, I actually side with UKIP, though if the BNP cleaned out the pond life, I could support them.
  5. That's the F2P mix alright. 40 Ranged, two green dragonhide pieces (always) the rest Iron against range or melee, leather (body & coif) + anti-dragonfire against mage. At 20 ranged, studded chaps are already better than iron legs. For P2P, can increase range for higher dragonhide and attack for dragon weapon (eg. DDS). PS. Watch out for the new F2P arena - if the "new armour" is anything more than purely decorative, it may have application for pures - just depends if it can be recovered. What's the betting it turns out to be a purely decorative, 0-stat item though?
  6. Full addy armour ( after completeing, you'll have the defence for rune ) - but with anti-dragon shield - though you could use an addy kite on the way in and out, but don't forget to switch shields. An amulet - Defence, str or power - even an accuracy is better than nothing. A rune weapon. And I'd go with a strength pot, lobbies and tele runes for an emergency exit. Might be worth tagging the wall first, so if you are forced to tele, you can get back easily. An alternative to tele runes, may be to 4 item: Rune wep, addy plate, addy legs, addy helm, the rest cheap stuff, and then if it all seems lost, trip the protect item prayer and then unequip the shield to make sure the next hit DOES kill you before the prayer runs out. And in case it's not blindingly obvious - if skulled, wait until unskulled, go fish some lobbies etc.
  7. Absolutely! If I have coins already (or a space), I pick up all, even the single coins. If I have space, I also take any junk that has a general store value. I also kick at every death pile, and circle like a vulture around redbars - even noobs for a few extra runes and arrows.
  8. Skull (members item) from digging the grave behind Draynor Manor. Actually are the ordinary skulls any use at all either - they don't work in the "Restless Ghost" quest. Alternatively, another nomination for "most useless item" would be: Any non-displayable rare - you can wear a phat, a mask, a Santa to show off, but what can you do with a pumpkin, a half wine, a disk of returning ? Show them in a trade, that's about it !
  9. Without teleports, bodies are the fastest XP (since the removal of part of the fence). Start from 20 though, not 19, so you need a level from something else. From 20 though, levels come really fast there: 20 to 27 needs: Body: 702 ess (25 and a fraction runs of 28) Air: 1052 ess (38 runs) though a goodly supply of air runes is probably a better product to get back.
  10. At 22 RC, triple airs (probably better than selling the ess raw), though running on W16 would pay better in cash or runes. Holding 1k airs (12 trips self-crafting, 10 if running for 100 or 8 if running for 125) is worthwhile, as finding ad-hoc 1k buyers is possible. From level 28, holding 1k of minds as well (or 1k minds / 2k airs for fire strikes) is a possibility.
  11. Random event items: Disappear, lost completely Holiday drops (untradable): Disappear, owner can replace by talking to appropriate NPC Holiday drops (rares): APPEAR
  12. Supplies by the k and items where they are needed (and always know if you can make, or how much it will cost to replace). Doing the W16 air run, I also sold a couple of air and mind tiaras, my mage ammy, and my last 200 ess to a crafter in the bank (alternating between running for money & crafting my own ess if the only ones open are 1k). If the running is good, air running can be a steady payback or a good source of air runes (though on this guy, I can make 4x from my ess and get XP, or get free runes and no XP) - If I run, I run for cash. Unless you craft your own nat / law runes in P2P, alchs and telegrabs are dependent on finding a cheap enough supply of runes to do it. Not sure if Oak logs are still any good, the initial heat from the construction race has proably cooled, but they are still probably the most cost/time effective supply for construction.
  13. 40 Defence / normal attack & strength (eg. 40/x/40) is a "Rune pure" not a "Def pure". Capable of absorbing considerable melee / range attacks, but vulnerable to magic.
  14. Try getting the silverlight, as it has the best stats (at least in F2P) for a weapon with no wield requirement. If you do not finish the quest, you can get a replacement by repeating the 3 steps for the keys - actually, by drop/talk methods, you can obtain a second one by repeating the steps.
  15. The idea of a beta would be interesting, but unless it was a small and very trusted community, information leaks and market manipulation would be inevitable - imagine advance warning of construction, or pure ess. I would assume that staff / J-Mod level do some beta testing but even extending it to P-Mods would risk someone telling a friend, who tells another two friends......
  16. If it has a sound recording option, select "What-U-Hear" or "Stereo Mix" as the source - depending on how the mix comes though, WAVE may also be usable. If it doesn't have an option, then try: http://www.camstudio.org Or http://sourceforge.net/projects/krut (That's one I only just found out about)
  17. Even with full metal and dragonhide vambraces, you are not guaranteed to fail every time, especially as the level increases (for rather patient cheapskates). On a hybrid with a bit less than 40 range & mage (so no vambs) and using a staff and full metal, the curse success seems to be about 25% on ducks, maybe 10% on the monk. Failure is never guaranteed, even with the worst possible mage penalty.
  18. Keep badgering until the end of your current membership month, then terminate membership - no point paying them for an account that is only half usable. It's unfortunate that the "evidence" only shows one side of the conversation, makes you wonder if they bothered looking at the overall context. Perm mute = ridiculous - if it was serious enough to be permanent (unless totting up prior black marks), then it should be serious enough to be a ban.
  19. Ducks on the Varrock stretch of the river are another rich set of targets - gets hard to find the ones you haven't already hit though. The caged Zamorak monk in the palace is another popular target - shrugs off a successful curse incredibly fast. If you don't mind a bit less XP for the runes, you can also repeat a multi-target cycle using weaken, if you can't find any fresh curse targets.
  20. NEVER use unsubscribe links in dodgy emails - it often serves just to tell them that the account IS live. If you chose to sign up, or were "signed up" by a reputable company when purchasing, then try unsubscribing. And please, never spam-report genuine newsletters that you are fed up with - unsubscribe. False spam reporting wastes time and devalues genuine reporting.
  21. Don't forget the Mausoleum bank deposit, you can put away items you no longer need on you, but remember it is DEPOSIT ONLY - put away something you do need, and you have to visit a "proper" bank to retrieve it.
  22. As long as you keep 1 defence / 1 prayer, you have a decent base for most kinds of pure / hybrid. Training the "wrong" combat means a few extra hitpoints and while it can be extra levels, it can also be a longer lifeline. If you try to do a 3 way hybrid, I'd be inclined to quest (Witchs potion & imp catcher) then confuse / weaken and curse far more than on a mage with one or no other combat skills, otherwise gain even more hitpoints (trading endurance for attack)
  23. Alright, how many were actually thinking "wouldn't it be funny if the SECURITY update resulted in another doomsday bug"? It was pretty much a given that the aftermath of that would result in some delay.
  24. Any quests left with defence XP? Presume you've already done Dragon slayer, of course
  25. FFA on World 16 (as a crafter) cannot be recommenced for low levels, sin you would be giving away a lot of cash (or more airs than you can make from the ess) for the service of having your own ess un-noted. If you are very low level, Airs move to double at 11, and minds at 14 (and every 11 and 14 after that is a further +1x) - both below the level 20 required for bodies. Doing bodies to 22 (3x airs) or 28 (3x minds) may be worth a shot. I find power-crafting Earths works passably well, mostly because you can switch between mining and crafting. I wouldn't bother using the store at Al-kharid - the bank is not much further if you get a reasonable walk on the diagonals, and the store is extra steps and extra cash, remember you have to buy/sell in a maximum of 10's. One other XP tip... never leave a talisman on the ground, they are 5x the XP of an ess at the same altar when crafter to a tiara. Buy tiaras from stores near a furnace, if large numbers have been dumped by silver smithers. NB. Actual XP gained (compared to tiara use) works out to: 1. 4x, if you wear the blank tiara in and carry one talisman 2. 3x, if you replace 2 ess with another talisman and tiara If you have multiple runs to do anyway, wear one blank tiara in and take the talisman, though that does add extra equip/unequip steps.
