  1. 3ak comparable to dfs against ranged 3ak < dfs against melee 3ak < dfs against mage
  2. sorry to burst your bubble, but sup's max hit (300ish?) is so low that soaking barely makes an overall difference :( i thought about this too haha
  3. I think you mean spectral? Arcane is for mage offense + defense anyway. Neither mage book, or tome of frost have soak either. Weather farseer is better than spectral is up for debate though. No I'm talking about the arcane spirit shield. The arcane spirit shield gives +3 more magic attack, +18 more crush defence, +12 more range defence and +3 prayer bonus than the farseer kiteshield so most people thought the arcane spirit shield was better. But now that the arcane spirit shield gives no damage soak, do you think it will be better than the farseer kiteshield, which gives +14% melee absorbtion. It's not going to get worse if both stats are exactly the same as before Arc is overall a better shield both before and after the update. The update could only have made arc even better. Durr because all combat only consists of your opponent hitting once at 800 durr. overall damage reduction is the value you should care about in 90%+ of situations.
  4. major change is that obby shields are comparable to DFS against ranged that hits ~500 I ment concerning Dung shields alone. dg shield stats haven't changed at all. lol. dg shields arent "sht". cks is only like ~10% worse than ely vs ranged; fks is a worse version of arc (but still very good for mages); eeks is a worse version of spec (but still very good anti-mage)
  5. major change is that obby shields are comparable to DFS against ranged that hits ~500
  6. No: that max hit is reduced 30%, but your OVERALL reduction is much more complicated to calculate. you have to average the hit reduction for all possible hits you could receive to find the OVERALL reduction. this calculation is shown in the other thread your overall reduction will be somewhere around 10% probably.
  7. the important value is ~20%; above 20% soak, rapier is almost definitively better than CLS; below 20%, CLS is slightly better
  8. This question has already been answered in this thread. 1% soak rating is approximately 1.5 defense points. This actually makes obby/tok shields about equal, if not better than, DFS against ranged. even mystic will destroy you wielding an EEKS. you need at least 100 magic defense, if not 150+, to defend properly against a mage. 26 mage defense is nothing. this soak update doesn't really change that much.
  9. Oh here you go again. Barrows Melee Armour Melee soak 10% + Farseer 14% = 24% 300hit (300-200) = 24 off (8%) 400hit (400-200) = 48 off (12%) 500hit (500-200) = 72 off (~14%) and so on where the limit is 24% obviously... OVERALL damage soak does not equal damage soaked ONLY at max hit i averaged damage soak over all values from 0 to max hit, for each max hit value shown on the graph. do not criticize something you do not understand
  10. OVERALL damage soak vs max hit of opponent for 30% soak value - only aroundd 6-7% overall damage reduction jagex applies a weak update jagex kills prices on a few good items because of KB fail jagex makes obby shield better than DFS against ranged
  11. whether or not it is illegal i have no idea but jagex's macro detection system definitely pays attention to when any clicks occur in some predictable pattern so i'd advise against it
  12. My point was neither of them (those two) show armor updates, just the new hitsplats.
  13. Just making it clear, since the posted image only shows hitsplat update. lol.
  14. yeah this is exactly why i brought up the question. i got the question from that guide, but i'm pretty sure the guide uses muggi as a source of info - but muggi did pvp a long time ago so i dont know if 1) it's accurate and 2) even if it was accurate, is it still accurate today?
  15. I've read that the ancient spells all have different accuracy. anyone confirm or deny? also do shadow spells stack in effect ?
  16. So it works on unicorns, but does it work with a pack yak? Also what's with all the summoning potions? Spirit cape basically makes summ pots into brews. W/o summ cape they heal 3*150 = 450; after spirit cape they heal something like 4*150=600. Summ pots are actually a bit better than brew OR food because: you can still attack while drinking pot doses (better than food) you don't get combat penalties (better than brew) brews are still better for tanking specs though since the healing is immediate
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruB62YfkUFE Spirit Cape is really good ... properly used, maybe even better than an ely. idk i even beat some person with a divine And lol, I'm rusty :shame:
  18. If that's the case, get that OP. Rune crossbow with a 33% increase would be much more useful in so many more situations. just to be clear, it's "up to". most likely will be less, but it's definitely a noticeable increase. also, soul wars - unless you like to DG, DON'T risk chaotic. you never know what will happen to your connection.
  19. lol at this thread totally derailing OP i think your question is more or less answered. can we agree that: bow > staff > shields or in some cases bow > cks > staff > fks for general usefulness?
  20. Fury karils>arma when meleeing arma is easily lost melee is more important than ranged
  21. Why? I think this method opens up the potential to all 5 people exploring at the same time. Storing that in one person's memory is almost impossible.
  22. The problem with using it on 117/148 is that it requires google accounts to use, which not everyone has. also i don't know how i feel about other people being able to see my google account name.
  23. Just put google docs in one window and your RS client in the other. you can have both open simultaneously. alt tab is a quick way of switching screens too.
