  1. Oh, I guess it's working then, just because of the occasional neglect they give us. If they restrict it too much people will think Jagex as money-hungry and instead of becoming members they'll leave. Which is why I think if they leave it exactly how it is now, maybe adding a small few updates that add, not subtract (such as Holiday Events), then F2P will probably never fail. But if they start adding more restrictions, then I believe F2P might crash in is money-making goal.
  2. Are we possibly forgetting that Andrew Gower first released RuneScape as a free game, with no initial intention of making the profit he does today? But yes, they did eventually turn it into basically a "hook" for membership upon the release of Pay-to-Play: See how fun this is now? Pay up and it'll be twelve times more fun!
  3. I automatically don't like this rant due to the fact that you're one of those people that use the word "gay" to describe things you don't like. I have a few gay close friends (personally, not myself) and it offends me when people use the word "gay" as "stupid". So please, don't be stupid; use proper adjectives! Oh, and, this rant fails. It's not that big of a deal, really. Edited spelling error. Oops. Curse my OCD.
  4. But wouldn't flaming the flamers make you just as bad as they are? Just a thought.
  5. Here's my take on swearing/immaturity: some people just think, "Oh hey, it's the Internet, nobody knows who I am, so I can do anything I want! If they start really hating me, I can flame back or just make a new screenname!" That's the problem. Total anonymity. You can be anyone you want, or no one, and that enables you to do whatever the hell you want to do, without virtually any lasting repercussions. So most stupid people/jerks just do crap like this because it entertains them. God only knows why. EDIT: An easy way to solve this would be to limit new accounts made anywhere to the amount of one or two. But that's never going to happen, so anonymity will reign supreme in the world of Internet immaturity.
  6. [hide=Quote Train] Get this: levels do not necessarily equal knowledge. :-w My few cents here: it seems to me he just wanted to have a bit of fun by seeing what it was like. Do you run into an extremely dangerous area, carrying your best armor, without really knowing what it's like? I know I don't, a lot of people don't either. Plus, sometimes it is fun to suicide. How does someone attacking the same monster you are get in the way? They may not be helping at all or very little, but it's not like they can take your drops or even really cause any harm whatsoever. Explain that, please, m4tty? Oh, and: So you're saying that when "your" world gets crashed by a "noob", then you always ask them to leave nicely? Yeah, that's easy to believe, seeing your behavior here. Oh, the irony! they can steal drops, cause ppl to die cos of the "rythm of killing" being messed up.. and as ive said 1000+ times how can some random loser lvl 40 who has read a guide know more than someone whos actally done it? guides are nothing but a good starting point. i used to ask crashers nicely to leave but usually i just get flaming in return... so now i usually just try my best to get them killed. [/hide] How's a "noob" who doesn't know what he's doing steal your drops? :P

  8. Either bring a teleport, or walk all the way south in the lair: there's a rope that leads up to outside a well by the south entrance of Falador.
  9. With such a long term goal, then I'd say you should get it. You'd almost certainly make up for lost training time getting the points due to the increased experience per hour. Of course, you can range all the points you'd need. I remember reading somewhere that experience per hour is increased by at least 10K with Void. I'm too tired to accurately fully calculate the time you'd save, but it seems that Void would save a fair bit in the end. :P
  10. The only thing I'd suggest to make it better is to not use the same warrior/ranger picture three times. Why would a mid- to high-level wear bronze and a bronze scimitar? :P That aside, I really like this guide. Sure, I may never use it (new addict to Slayer :-w) but it's very well-written, full of valuable tips and information, and it's laid out very cleanly. 9/10, and I'll give it a 9.5/10 if you possibly vary up those pictures. I don't believe in the "perfect guide", but you're pretty close. :)
  11. These days, I believe up to 800 each. Gotta sell in bulk though, like quantities of 1,000 or so.
  12. You'd be getting more EXP per hour with Void, if you're motivated enough to get the 1,000+ points that the Void requires.
  13. Despite fluctuation, rares will only go up in the end. A rare now will be a good investment in the future.
  14. With those stats plus the ones you plan to get, you can easily do Barrows. Magic dart is probably the best all-around option: you'd hit 17s and you'll regularly receive the runes you use at Barrows. Kill count loosely determines the amount of runes, gold, and racks you'll get from the chest. A kill count of 15 +/- 2 is perfectly adequate. I tend to use an average of 80 casts per trip, but I always take at least 150. You never know when you'll splash like twenty times in a row for some reason. Although I never do. :)
  15. I assume you're talking about the ">.>" face? It would be this one: Basically, just do the same face with the arrows going the opposite way.
  16. The full ranger/mage set (required Void helm, plus top+bottom+gloves) add an extra 10% accuracy (and damage for ranged) for your attacks. It's been shown that full Void Knight ranged is actually better than black dragonhide for training purposes.
  17. Silk: Buy/steal in Al-Kharid stall or Ardougne stall. Karamja Rum: Buy in Karamja liquor store. Use rum on silk. Da da da daaa! You have obtained item: cleaning cloth.
  18. Well, you could always give it to a friend, or trade rune ores + coal for rune bars maybe?
  19. Agree. +1 No he won't but he has a chance AND don't use the gs because you will get hit by melee and if you get hit by range too then range plus melee=KO? but if you are gonna use a gs then amryal (sp?) might be better if you survive 2 attacks from jad. Oh, since when did they nerf jad from hitting 100s+? Since when did Jad ever hit 100+? I've seen him hit 99 at most - even the Monster Scan Lunar spell shows his max hit to be 97.
  20. I'm level 91 combat (75 74 70), and I find ankous+dagganoths to be quite easy. Good drops, and they really don't hit that much. Your current setup works pretty good (Torag's would help you last longer though) but I suggest you swap the kiteshield for a rune defender.
  21. You could always try the Tip.It Treasure Trail Guide? :-k Stuff that I always bring: teleport runes to everywhere, a dueling ring, games necklace, charged glory, a spade, chart, sextant, watch, and a bit of food and an antipoison for emergencies. I wear dragonhide (light and decent defence) and carry around a DDP++.
  22. I'll update those prices: Yews = 81,979 x 350 = 28,692,650 Bowstrings = 81,979 x 180 = 14,756,220 Costs for supplies = 43,448,870 Yew longbows = 81,979 x 600 = 49,187,400 So about 4.5M profit. I put in the maximum yew log/bowstring prices and the minimum yew longbow prices, so this is the minimum profit that you will make. Of course, you may find lower/higher prices when you're buying/selling, so your profit completely depends upon what you buy the materials for. Good luck fletching! :)
  23. That's a lot of adamant bars. I'd say go for it! ;) And you went to kill them without me your first time? I thought we were friends... :( Of course, another alternative is to kill a lot until you've made millions, then blow that gold on more prayer potions and chinchompas. :P Lather, rinse, repeat.
  24. The absolute fastest way to make money would probably be to scam lots of people, hack them for their items, or develop cheap friendships just so you can wear their rares and then steal them. However, these all underhanded and really mean. So you should focus on things like runecrafting, woodcutting, fishing, Barrows, etc.
