99 agility is useful, but not that useful. Go with RC.

Barrows Armor - Not like Jagex had\should have planned?
highlanders replied to compfreak847's topic in General Discussion
It's been bothering me aswell. It's true it doesn't make any sort of sense that bandos, 3rd age, and even dragon, is rarer and more expensive than barrows, while barrows is both the best and cheapest. :ohnoes: LOL I agree  Strength bonus is not nearly as important as it's all make up to be. -
Jagex's business plan flawed? Immature?
highlanders replied to ice age mage's topic in General Discussion
The thing is, the world is not a stage of "political correctness". Someone ready to suicide over an internet insult won't survive to high school, let alone adulthood. The randoms were a bad decision. They did not stop the bots, they would only slow them down for a few days, at the dispense of the genuine players. It's simply sad that the players had to resort to acting themselves in order to stop them, that should not have happened. By the way, don't change the subject, random-wise bots were perfect, like it or not. -

jagex on a soap box about global warming *found after loss*
highlanders replied to yanksrule's topic in General Discussion
I thought putting those references to global warming was very inappropriate. Though the message is noble, it is simply not the right place to put something like that, and it's going to achieve nothing. Add that to "Smoking kills", just stop, people don't play to get lectured. -
Also, it can be a sub-group of a race, like pirates/humans for example. Goblins, elves, gnomes, tzhaar, demons, vampires, ghosts, dwarves, etc. Which is your favorite?

Summoning duh-uh! Combat level has been cheapened, that's for certain.

Why do people still go to pest control?

Bah, void is useful in certain situations, but it's a real pain to get, even with PC clans. And PC is a horrible minigame, so boring and repetitive :ohnoes: -
I Really Respect People With That Cape Because.....
highlanders replied to BunnyOnSmack's topic in Questionnaires
Is this thread for laughing at that random person, or to say you respect x skillcapes? Anyway, I won't respect people just for their cape in a game, that's crazy. If what you mean is respect for the cape itself, then I'd say: Farming, runecrafting, slayer, herblore, prayer, smithing, mining, slayer, construction, summoning. Farming because you need to spend both a lot of money, and a lot of time, it takes a lot of time even using the best of methods. Runecrafting because of the outstanding patience you need to do it. Slayer becauses it's very low exp hour. Smithing is just a crazy skill to get to 99, can take a lot of cash, or a lot of time. Mining takes ages. Prayer, herblore, construction, summoning, shows you have money, but not much more, still good. -
That's your answer for everything, isn't it? "If you don't like it, quit". Wow, you sure are going to go far in life >__> The simple fact this thread exists, and that dozens other threads exist on other fansites is a proof that the riots did get people's attention, and that was the point.
-
It just makes me wonder what kind of stances people have in real life if they really believe riots don't do anything at all. Defeatist ftl? It's unlikely Jagex will bring back the wilderness as it was, but the riots DO bring attention to how players feel about it. Riots can't have complex messages, you can't control a crowd to same complicated stuff so they say "No wild, no pay, etc" to make a point. Basically, almost all of Runescape doesn't require any sort of skill except clicking and resistance to boredom. Levels are basically representative of how efficiently and long you clicked, how resistant you are to repetitive activities, and how much time you are willing to waste on the game. Pking, and staking were two activities that actually required certain abilities. For staking, you had to had a solid strategy, know the tricks, and know exactly what you are doing to win. People who become rich with staking weren't idiots. Pking wasn't as shiny, but it was an activity that had the potential to quicken your pulse, and basically nothing wrong with that. What doesn't make sense is a mmorpg without PK, it is a vital part of any mmorpg. BH and FoG just don't cut it.

Look at this: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=manag ... m.htm#cost It says how much an item costs your kingdom to make, using this you can figure out what items have the highest profit margin knowing the current market prices. Right now, max out flax, then use the rest on coal

Erm The fact that the person who says these numbers happens to be the main management and leadership role in Jagex, that he used to be chief executive officer for Paypal Europe with a solid reputation and that the interview was made by BBC, is not *convincing* enough? Okayyy..

Monday Poll: Official "How do you like summoning" poll
highlanders replied to MPM's topic in General Discussion
Big disappointment It could have been such a great skill, but the exp with pouches and the prayer-like draining just kills it Btw, the last option: 'I dislike it, it's too hard' is completely stupid. People can dislike the skill for ANY reason, not only because it's too 'hard'. I bet the options were made by somebody who likes the skill, and thinks that automatically if you dislike it, you're a crybaby who thinks the skill is too hard  -
The pets shouldn't require food when grown adult, considering they are just for fun. It's not as if they had bonuses that would justify to restrict them by needing food. Having to feed a pet all the time = no fun

16 January 2008 - Summoning balancing
highlanders replied to kemikalkadet's topic in General Discussion
precisely This whole thing is based on the assumption that familiars are profitable. For skilling, forget it, they're useless exept 2 or 3(which are meh, nothing more). For combat, you can only use them in multi-combat areas. Jagex also assumes that you will use every single pouch that you create. You don't even get exp from using the darn animals. Not to mention that with the prayer-inspired summoning points draining system, using the darn pets is annoying as hell. This is a pouch-making skill, not summoning. This skill would have been fine if a couple of things had been made different -
Not at all. You get exp from doing farming activities such as planting, picking, checking-health, etc. In summoning, instead of getting exp from handling and summoning beasts like a proper summoner should, you get exp from making pouches at an altar and you getting better at summoning beasts by doing that... pff.. It is the equivalent of getting firemaking exp for drawing fires on pieces of paper. Jagex obviously wanted to make this skill yet another money drain for elites, not a skill for everyone to enjoy

Closeup pictures of the summoning cape I took.
highlanders replied to gameace12's topic in General Discussion
I'll guess that is because you posted pictures of things that had not been released yet, as opposed to this. The cape is meh... It looks way too much like a quest or fishing cape. -
The cost wouldn't matter if the perks made it worth it, but they don't, and that's the problem.
-
Gah, it could have been so much better I think it really needs a couple of things: - Perks that would make it worth it to level it up, high level familiars are just a disappointment, the february ones better be good. High level familiars are good for combat, but for skills, pfff... This turned out like construction, kinda useful, but mostly useless: most of the familiars are trash - A real way to level it up, crafting pouches is just a complete turn-off and it doesn't make any sense. It is like the equivalent of getting firemaking exp for drawing fires or getting herby exp for praying the statue of herby buddah. A real summoner should get exp from handling beasts and summoning them, not making voddoo doll pouches at an altar. But you know how Jagex is, they wont change it, better forget it.. go farm instead
