Massive increase in players training agility?

I started training it so I could do Regicide/Roving Elves :D Since then I've decided I'm just gonna go for 70 for the blue dragon shortcut.

Pirate Rosetta stone. Learn a language while you scape.

Sounds interesting, but these days how many people really speak Pirate?

I hate walking so having an agility of 67 has helped me in numerous ways.

1. Can do the Taverly dungeon shortcut (with agil pot). Straight to Blue Dragons.

2. Can climb the rock to fight Salarin for the Sinister Key.

3. Can run like the wind with my Penance gloves, Spottier cape and Boots of Ikov.

4. Can use short cut to Ecto pool for faster green slime collection (when don't feel like buying from port traders).

Barrows Drops: Guthan's platelegs and War Spear, Dharok's plate body and Great Axe, Verac's Flail, Verac's Helm x 2, Ahrim's top, Dharok's plate legs

Dragon Drops: Medium Helm x 4, Shield Left Half, plate legs x 2, skirt x 2.

most people want to train thier noncombats to a good level and often agility is something they either want to get overwith or think its fun its not complex to train at all.

Those shortcuts aren't widely used and they are not high lvl.

So far i still agree with some of the previous posters. The introduction of the two new courses out the blue in 3 months may have spread rumours that Jagex is going to have a update that requires high agility.

Those that argue that agility is an easy skill i absolutely don't agree. After fm i believe hunting is the next non-buyable skill with highest exp/hr. After then fishing and wc comes in as faster than agility.

So far most of the agility trainers are mostly around agility level 75-85, maybe i will observe their progress through 90s, maybe it won't be that disappointing :P

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

People realize that's a easy skill cape to get
lol

It's slow, takes about 2-3k worth of energy/super energies to train at 52k xp an hour. It involves alot of clicking and countless weeks of running in cirlces to get to 99. It's one of the more difficult 99's to get.

All I can think of is the cape, it 0wns all

hm?

it's actually one of the harder skill capes...the xp isn't terrific plus it takes determination focus patience etc...most scapers don't have this.

Yeah, i have seen a lot of people wanting to boost it. I'd assume they believe it's a rare cape, and they like the emote, looks, etc...maybe they just see it's a sore thumb in their skills and want to raise? :-k :-s

it takes around 250 hours from level 55 to get to 99 agility.

and the rest... :-w

i think agility's becoming more popular because of a) the recently added new course that people want to try out, B) the emote is 0wnage (yes, even i think it's better than prayer emote), c) agility is one of the less popular high level skills, i mean, i'm level 86 agility and ranked less than 900 in it

i also went from around 890 to rank 937 in 4 days from being on holiday, so people are obviously wanting to stay under a certain rank bracket such as 1000 etc. because it's pretty impressive on people's hiscores.

i for one have always loved agility as my favourite skill, it's saved me many times in the wilderness, including an incident where i was being a smart alec and teleported to ice plateau with defence cape and dds to explore, wen a person beside me moved where i clicked. i ended up with a skull and having to run away - it was either my dds or defence cape, didn't want to give up either of em ;) luckily i didn't get poisoned, and managed to run into the wildy agility course, and luckily, he didn't have the required agility level to enter (lol :P) hopped worlds, waited 20 mins and was safe =) also i once was training at wildy agility course wen a dds guy asked me if i had any food, i said i had cakes, he used all dds specs on me, i managed to get away and hop worlds to where cyrano74 was where he/she gave me 6 swordfish (will always remember that :P) i thought i was doomed as there were many high levels there, but they just wanted to train just as i wanted to =p

not to mention the shortcuts that agility gives me, including blue drags, the elven cliff shortcut etc. etc. and the energy restoration is pretty fast =]

The main people go for high agility is for a few reasons:

1) Total level

2) More energy

3) The sake of having a 99

4) Some enjoy agility

However yeah, it's definitely the awesome skill cape that has caused the recent rise you've been seeing in agility nubs.

Lol............. Thank god we have your lvl 56 agility experience!

Of course, it *only* takes 260 hours, thus more than two months at 30 hours/week. Piece of a cake, eh?

Idk why, but yeah a bit of increase, but not by much. I find it useful and it sure beats the hell out of buying super restores for 2k each...those things go by fast! I love the energy regaining, but not enough to get 99...I'm stopping at 70 or maybe higher if I go crazy.

99 Fletch~~99 WC~~79/81 Fishing

OT: its a great idea to train agility before you leave members, cause the energy effect will still be with you.

Hmm weren't agility said to be sooooo "boring" and running around in circles is so pointless that using super energies are more worth it than spending that time? How did those people straighten out their thinking? Anyway, I still don't think 52k/hr exp is fast though.

Hitpoints

Woodcutting

Fishing

Crafting

Smithing

Mining

Herblore

Slayer

Farming

Runecraft

All slower than Agility.

Attack

Defence

Strength

Ranged

Prayer

Construction

All slower than Agility without PC or wasting tons on money. That leaves...

Magic

Cooking

Fletching

Firemaking

Thieving

Hunter

The "easy skills" are the only ones faster and just as cheap as Agility.(without PC of course)

The funny part is that it took everyone so long to figure that out, now that they have, in about 3-4 months, Agility 99ers will start to drasticlly rise.

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.
So, what is 1.111... equal to?

10/9.

Please don't continue.

Well, well looks like the update yesterday had proved that the fact that Jagex was going to make an update that requires agility, a typical standard of me pt2 handbars.

Cant agree more, although bit of an easy quest, expected a harder quest when they said it having a high agility level would be useful.

But i guess it wasn't required to have high agility.
