Well, I could give you scientific proof that the teeth part of the half keys have little supply, which would result in you reading a gigantic post. But...I rather just cut to the chase.

 

 

 

I'm sure this has been posted before, but lets expand on this issue. Ever since the Gnome Delivery Service mini game came out, tere has been a huge increase in the Loop half key circulation. Yes this was a couple of months ago, but it still affects us. Though I don't play this game (ever), my recent 8 half key drops/random events have been loop. I'm not spreading rumors, because this is fact. Look at your bank if you don't believe me, most of us will have more loops then teeth parts.

 

 

 

What does this have to do with now? Well...Recently with all the jewelery update, Dragonstones have been little of supply. What makes it worse is the new Crossbow update. Rune bolts only use Dragonstone and Onyx tips, and the former is much better then the latter.

 

 

 

I'm posting this because It's been on my mind for some time now, and I want to see if anyone else has noticed this half key imbalance...

for years the only half keys i got were loops but in the last 2 months the only part i am getting are teath which really help my bank balance :D

Weird... I have more teeth than loops in my bank.

 

But from what I saw in W2, tooth half key prices tend to be 5 - 10k higher than loops.

I've seen this too. The majority of my half key drops, probably somewhere around 65%(CBA to get exact calculations) have been loop halves. And FastForce is right that the tooth half keys are generally a bit more expensive than the loop halves.

it is weird, but ask jagex about this and they will either not respond or say the probability is the same. i got 2 teeths and 1 loop from randoms in oone day, bought another loop to complete it. it is strange, but the probability is the same.... unless it changes from monster to monster, and the monsters that drop teeth more often aren't fought as much. those are my theories.

Until about 5 months ago, almost all halves I received were teeth halves, now I only seem to get 1 Teeth half per 3 Loops.

i think the shortage of teeth is from players not realizing the drop and ignoring it on the ground. They are hard as hell to see, crossbow bolts have a similar problem. One of my first half key teeth drops was one that someone overlooked in chaos druids at Taverly Dungeon.

I never get loops lol, always teeth.

like i said in another post a while ago about this usually when i get a loop i get a teeth soon after... I usually get a nice balance of half key drops never 1 more than another

Just used up all my loops and traded them for teeths when i got 84 crafting for that one jewlery update a little while back.

 

 

 

Since then ive gotten 2 loops and almost 20 teeth half keys...

Same here too. I used to only get loops, now i get loads of teeth from abby demons or other monsters. Random events too :)

I only have teeth halves, and I keep having to buy the loops. \/.\/

every single half key i ever got has is tooth ( now 15) i just had to buy loops since it was annoying to have so many teeth :?

"Buying all half keys!" yes i type that in world 2 every so often.... about 75% are loop halfs... so i pay 15k for loops and 35k for teeth. ya there is a shortage im guessing

in the past 2 months i was stocking all half keys drops.

Well i think that depends on what monster we are fighting.

 

For example Gorak has alwasy been dropping teeth instead of loop for me

well.. i have about 12 loops in bank atm... since the gnome update, i've gotten only 2 teeth halfes = /

 

 

 

known this for a long time... and it annoys me to see the people getting more teeths than loops... buying loops is pretty much cheaper than buying teeths =/

yeah...i still have 20 loops in the bank, and used to have 50+ before i bought some teeth halves...teeth keys are alot rarer than loop parts.
