At 74 runecrafting I got 17654 exp from 1k pure ess. No profit, no fun. I'll stick with abyss untill 85 and then ZMI to 91.

This must be Jagex's way of making up for the wildy update where players get more precedence over NPCs :). Wow this is amazingly fast and easy the monsters in there hardly ever attack you and about 700xp per round. Plus I think one round is faster than one round of nats and no pkers to annoy you.

@Danq, I don't think running would work terribly well, as you'd have to give the runner all the runes you get which = time consuming.

 

 

 

If you're rcing for xp alone, this is your new best friend. Personally, I'll stick with running through the abyss hundreds of times and making noticeable profit.

For people who mine their own essence, and don't care about profit, but about getting the levels for what you need, JaGEx has delivered.

 

 

 

I don't see how this could have possibly ruined Runecrafting. This has no quick and easy way to get money, since there is no guarantee on the runes you get from it. You could spend hours there and get nothing of value if you were unlucky enough.

This update will be great for low level crafers getting to 44. They will then use abyss to make the cash.

I like it a lot. I'll be using this when I become a member again.

The altar belongs to the Zamarok Mage Institute (hence Z.M.I.), not the moon clan. The moon clan only has unlocked a rift allowing access there via teleport. Completing Lunar Diplomacy only allows access to this rift. The altar is for all to use.

Since ess is now a required want - more than often I just wanted to remind people that arte either poor or cant be bothered to spend money and mine ess that temple trek can be very useful.

 

 

 

For example I have just done 10 trips - 5 hard - 5 medium with tough travellers.

I like this update, RCers took a bit of a beating when players attacks started taking prority in they wild (killed skele defense method), but this evens it out.

 

 

 

And just wear a D Hide top and you'll be fine, the people on the fast path arent that accurate at 70 defense.

I figured that some people would be wondering what the percents are like on getting the runes crafted. Note there would be more law runes than listed, but I didn't get them counted in due to teleporting with them to the altar, and back to the moon clan. As well I failed to record the astral runes, cosmics, and the more basic runes.

 

 

 

Now in order of least to greatest.

 

 

 

170/4799 Soul runes = 3.54% of being a soul rune

 

250/4799 Blood runes = 5.21% of being a blood rune

 

340/4799 Chaos runes = 7.80% chance of being a Chaos rune

 

492/4799 Law runes = 10.3% chance of being a law rune

 

627/4799 Death runes = 13.1% chance of being a death rune

 

1019/4799 Nature runes = 21.2% chance of being a nature rune.

 

(Note: Part of the reason it's much higher is due to I'd make one trip of nats each time I went to the abyss to repair the giant pouch)

 

 

 

 

 

Hope this helped somebody out. I'll try to redo things a bit better at about 10K pure ess sometime. As well this was done at 87 runecrafting.

I personally RC to make runes (for personal use). This looks like XP just for the sake of XP, and I can train Hunter if I want that. :P

 

 

 

I can see where stat grinders will like the update, though.

At the runecrafting level of 87 I find this update a very welcome one.

 

 

 

I can get almost twice the exp I would gain by crafting natures through abyss. Of course the profit is not that great, but it's still something. (About half the profit I'd make with nats.) Plus it's free of PK'er annoyance!

 

 

 

So, bottom line: Half the profit, almost double the exp. I think I'll do this until I'm 91 RC. After that point the profits of nature crafting surely surpass the pros of ZMI.

Forget about the bank though. Use group tele to lunar isle, and bank there, then teleport back with the new spell.

 

 

 

 

 

Also on a full world you will get free group tele if you have accept aid on.

Hmm confused with the tele to the altar itself The good thing that came well with it was that abyss rcing industry was not ruined in any way.

The ZMI alter is very good for exp. 2 times the exp is great.
