If you have completed Back to my Roots, you will be able to grow a jade vine in a Farming patch in East Ardougne. Should you let this plant go 'wild', it will grow into an impressive Slayer monster. You cannot be assigned to kill the jade vine, but doing so will earn you a handy 3000 Slayer experience. Note, though, that you must attack it with a Woodcutting axe and have secateurs in your inventory.

Grrr, I already dug mine up cause it was "fully" grown :cry: At least you can get more seeds, but now I need to get the payment again......

A seed every week plus the 10 wildblood hops will get bloody annoying.

Can't do the quest.... farming and slayer too low... I hate farming.

Wait, so you cant pay the farmer to watch it? When mine grew it didnt turn into a slayer monster, i just checked it and got farming xp. Do I have to just wait longer?

just for reference, i had 87/87 hp when i got hit 42 by the diary.

 

 

 

edit: total reward xp goes up to 112k!!! (including sidequest)

when you get your quest cape the hour after it's released, you're treated like a god.

Botys means plant.

 

 

 

This has nothing to do with Autoers.

Dont prune your vine to make it go wild and talk to Horacio to get another jade vine seed.

If you get the root put it in the pot and put the lid on and die. Before ypu ake it to Horacio.

 

You can not get another one. If you go to dig another root it wont allow you.

 

If you go to Horaccio to try to get him to reset something, it says you gave it to him and go ahead and plant it.

 

I sent a bug report to Jagex.

Most probably because they assumed everyone was smart enough to wait and see if the root takes like it tells you too before they sealed it in the pot?

 

 

 

Quite an obscure bug since it sounds as if u directly ignored a simple instruction the quest gives.

The way you wrote your post made it sound like the plant had died, not you yourself. It's not his fault you can't make yourself understood.

I never got the seed. I died carryng the closed pot to horacio basically.

 

After I died I went back to try to dig more roots and that didn't work.

 

I went to Horacio and he says thanks for bringing it back and go ahead and plant.

Got the root

 

Put it into the plant pot

 

Sealed this into the other pot BEFORE waiting to see if it took or wilted

 

Got to Horacio and found it to be dead

Still sounds like quite an obscure bug, I'd imagine most people would teleport out after sealing it up or would have enough pray/food etc to walk back out.

Figured it out. If anyone is making a guide and its not added, add this to the guide.

 

If you die after you have the root in the pot and the lid on.

 

Go to Garth the gardener to get it back.

That could be Jagex's excuse why they removed the old vine random that people who played rsc talk about.

Im confused, if i pay the farmer to watch it does that mean that i can not get it for slayer xp? or do i just have to check it and then come back later when its grown wild?

Appreantly...you only have to pay 10 hops ONCE!

I think you get 3k slayer XP if you let it grow to monster size.
