Tanks. New meaning?

I know, the title makes no sense whatsoever, but I was wondering about Tanks.

What's a Tank (For those who don't know)? A Tank is an account that has 99 ranged, mage, hp, prayer(?), and defense. They can choose to raise Attack and strength up to a point where they won't grow a combat lvl from all those 99's.

With the new skill update, Summoning, it raises you 12 combat lvls.

My question is "Can a Tank have 99 Summoning or is that like Attack and Strength?" Will someone be a "Tank" with 99 Summoning?

It'll completely depend upon the benefits that summoned creatures will give us.

If they suck at defense, then you probably won't be seeing tanks getting high lvl summoning.

But let's say you can summon something like a rhinoceros, which would presumably have high defense. Then you might be seeing tanks getting the lvl to summon it, and take on the extra combat levels.

First off, that is not the only definition of a tank. A tank, in RPG terms, refers to someone there to absorb attacks. While PKers always use the term "tank" to refer to the character builds you're referring to, I know many people who use the term "tank" to refer to a specific role in a fight. In the case, a "tank" would be someone who draws the attack of a boss monster, with all his gear chosen specifically so he can stay alive.

Right now, we know very little about how summoning works. It IS possible that if summoning is effective enough in combat, there will be "tank summoners", or players who obtain the highest defense possible and rely on summons to fight.

However, until summoning comes out, we really haven't got a clue... we don't know what we can summon, how strong the summons will be, whether a summon is invulnerable or whether a monster could kill it, how long the summon can last, etc.

Tanks don't just want to be able to withstand hits, they want to dish out the damage at the same time. Of course they will train the new skill to a certain extent. However, they might not train it so high if a new BH arena is made.

Ya, like WC3 a tank would be like a tauren or knight...

It depends on skill itself. if it's purely/almost purely offensive (like magic, attack, ranged, str), then it isn't for tank pures. But if its mainly for defense purposes, then it is. I think its mostly offensive, and..(and, and and .. :?: n :?: ..?) we won't know before it's released. But if you are confused and prefer theold quaranteed way of tank pures, then i would recommend you to stay atduel arena andalvays tick"no summoning"

Long live the mighty runite warhammer, the only guardian defending f2p from overpower of tank pures!

A Summoning tank will be able to summon tzhaar creatures, hopefully.

(imagine summoning Jad at 99  )

Yeah, because that won't be over-powering at all will it...

Use your brain?
