4-since the removal of player based trade..75% of the mulltiplayer..is now dead...all i can call multiplayer is minigames

We've all read their explanations for this, they did this because they felt RWT was worth abolishing for the good of their game and they were able to even accept the loss of money for it.

 

 

 

When is it suddenly "sneaky" for a business to do what it's supposed to do -that is, make money-? Do you really expect jagex to say "Hey we know everyones upset about the Duel Arena stuff so heres some stuff to make you forget all about it!"

 

 

 

Sure, it's what theyre doing (At least with the hype, I think Summoning has been in developement so long they didnt plan on making it just for RWT)

I love how people are looking at summoning, with how great Jagex is making it out to be, and automatically assuming it's all a big conspiracy and the skill is going to be boring to train like farming.

 

 

 

Until farming becomes a combat skill, you really need to work on your skills of speculation.

Yep your right everything is about making money off the skill :roll:

 

 

 

Skills are popular because of content and what abilities they give you ingame. Runecrafting isn't a horribly popular skill due to the lack of fast leveling yet is one of the best moneymakers in the game.

Do you really think that three years ago when they started making the skill they said " oh i know, lets remove the wild and then we can put this skill up as a replacement!"

The difference between this skill and other skills is that they have worked on this one for an extremely long time. Much longer then any of the other skills. I really think, from reading the Dev Diaries, that Jagex has thought out this skill very much so.

These last few updates seem to be nothing more than Jagex's attempts to mitigate the negative response players have been giving their less popular updates. :| I mean wildy capes and staking for f2p after both these concepts had been officially neutered?

 

 

 

They make a kind of sense, though.

 

 

 

Jagex obliterates PKing -> no more ways to have a small one-on-one fight outside the Duel Arena. Except the Duel Arena was members-only. So they make that part of the Duel Arena available to F2p.

 

 

 

Jagex releases Clan Wars. Identifying team-mates in the arena can be difficult, so they recommend using "wildy" capes. F2p didn't have those -> Jagex makes them available to F2p and dumps a cape seller in the Clan Wars waiting area.

 

 

 

It's not exactly a bad thing if Jagex tries to improve the situation for F2p by making useful changes!

 

 

 

The real way they're trying to mitigate the negative response is by waving the prospect of Summoning at us. The message was "Okay, we're doing some mighty unpopular things in December, but January's going to be AWESOME, so stick around."

 

That's not exactly a sneaky attempt to deceive us into staying with RuneScape. It's a perfectly normal advertising campaign. We're just not used to seeing Jagex advertise their future updates (except by accidentally leaking images through their website, like with Construction).

It is astounding how many people do not realise that Jagex said they will bring a solution to the Monster Hunting dilemma. It's only semi-gone temporarily.

It is not that bad. Some updates have been bad for some players, I can admit that, but I don't think that you should quit just because of some mistakes. And I don't believe Summoning will be bad after all the work that Jagex have put down in it. So at least wait until summoning have come out before you decide if you should quit or not!

It's more fun to actually train than it is to power-level and get higher levels, you won't get as bored as this with any other skill that's already available.

Well good companies look out for players and not money. Look yourself in the eyes and tell me that rwt did not ruin Runescape and bots were acceptable part of game play.

 

 

 

Yes we took a hit but i rather sacrifice few features of the game (and those got replacements) than loose game because gold shops.

 

 

 

As for summoning ... i don't really care how it will be, i will train it anyways and try to tie to my other skills as much as possible. For all i care it could be another money sink.

Last batch of updates made a great game, that much better Can you honestly say that the duel tournament met people's expectations, or jagex's solution to rwt. Jagexes solution to RWT was exactly what they wanted it to be, and what players demanded for long time...EFFECTIVE Its a matter of bad track record and high player expectations. Its a matter of whiny 12 yos with every update To be honest I can only see the following people continuing to play the game:

Old people who really should we already enjoy it, and with GE and last update, its that much better, the less whiny immature scamming punks in the game, the better

i would only disagree about f2p not being able to complain. sure they have less room to, but disallowing them to seems unfair. you get what you paid for, but your opinions need to be muffled slightly. especially the dramatic 1's and thats not even fair to muffle peoples opinions. but thats how jagex wants it to be done, and i cant really disagree with listening to paying customers first. then people who mildly support you game with outside sourcing of revenue(aka ads).

1. been to wildy lately? try on a 126 rev....I have only been pked twice in 3 years, both times by teams as I was soloing a clue, pkers are easy to avoid, defeat....revs? not so much, they teleblock, freeze, poison u at 8 all within secs......more dangerous now then when the spinelss pker pups ran around in groups teaming single players

 

 

 

2. very few people pked....small percentage...walk into old wildy...you might see a dot now and then, maybe an occasional group....outside of wildy? cant find a spot in the whole rs world to be alone...hmmmm wonder where the VAST majority played? I'd draw you a picture but I am fresh out of crayons.

 

 

 

3. merchants were the scourge of RS, gathered all available resources and marked the prices up...good riddance, so sorry you cant buy a phat set after a week of playing now :roll:
