I have a feeling "Thomas" or "Tom" is in the title. Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz; I read that book over a year ago, and it was pretty good, just didn't like the ending. Two of my favorite books ever are 1984 and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. As for series, I love Lord of the Rings and I loved most of the Harry Potter series (I hated books 6 and 7). Has to be either the Inheritance Trilogy (yeah not really a series), Twilight and its sequels (YOU NEED TO READ THEM!!) or the Lord of the Rings. My all-time favorite though would be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Favorite genre is FANTASY!! Also love Artemis Fowl, Alex Rider, Ranger's Apprentice, Sea of Trolls/Land of the Silver Apples, In the House of the Scorpion, the list goes on and on... By Twilight do you mean the Warriors series?The one with the cats? I love J.R.R. Tolkein and his friend.C.S. Lewis' work,the Narnia movies hardly do justice to it,and they didn't follow the time line =(. Didn't really like Harry Potter,though.It was great when it first came out,and I was like 7,but at this point I (sorry) found Deathly Hallows a bit predictable. And I agree,I love fantasy,and historical fiction,but I don't really get the Ranger's Apprentice...I dunno. The book is centered around fighting, one giant army (think 85% of the world or more), versus almost everyone else. There is a bit of talk, but it's all interesting (especially if you enjoy philosophy and strategy), and all the fights are incredibly epic. If you're a bit of a history buff, you'll be able to see many similarities between famous battles and the battles within the book. If you want a good fantasy, read 1984 by George Orwell. Fantastic book, and has a really good message. It's a bit boring in the beginning, but trust me, it's well worth the wait reading the boring parts. I've read it 4-5 times and each time I'll read something different, and get something else out of it. Also, check out His Dark Materials. It's really a fantastically done series. I read the Sword of Truth series in under a year and that was waiting from last August until November for the final book to come out. If you liked 1984 I would strongly advise you to read Brave New World. It is the best dystopian society book that I have ever read in my life. It's a must read for any science-fiction reader. I don't understand why people thought he was anti-religion, that book really made me know my religion even better. I'm struggling through Atlas Shrugged, but a lot of it is over my head. Should I read the Fountainhead first? I have to read a biography for next year, which isn't fun in the least.
