What browser does RS Work best with?

Im not talking about the RS Launcher that you can download from the website.

Im talking about the browsers! Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, Opara, ect.

My Firefox is crashing alot. -.- I just hate internet explorer. Oprah is too slow for me and Safari is laggy.

Im using Netscape hoping to not crash before I log out , lag or any of that other stuff.

So what browsers do you use to play Runescape?

If Firefox is crashing, that's probably a computer/internet problem rather than a Firefox problem.

Play it through swiftkit and you'l be fine.

I've no experience through normal browsers, all i've ever used are swiftswitch/kit and before that my AOL browser which worked fine.

SwiftKit uses IE to load the RS pages so that a definite no.

I love swiftswitch, but thats mainly why I dont like to use it, as it uses the IE engine.

Now...if we could recompile it and make it use firefox engine.....

Firefox, the only decent or better browser out there.

Not Firefox 3. Or not the Beta I was using at least

RS crashed more times then I could count.

The only issue with RuneScape, as far as speed is concerned, is how fast the log in screen will load. Other than that, they are all pretty much the same and is only affected by internet speed. Firefox 3 is the fastest browser, but crashes. A LOT. I also find the UI bulky, and difficult to navigate (different themes can fix how ugly it is). In second place is Safari which is much more reliable and, in my opinion, has an excellent UI which is slim-line and easy to use. Then comes IE which is also very reliable and MUCH more customizable than Firefox as to what features you DON'T want/need. I personally use Safari because of how good the UI is and its speed. If your computer isn't very good I would suggest using IE 6 or 7 as it was made for computers that aren't particularly good and can actually run with very little resources if you slim it down a bit.

As for the nay-sayers because of security; guess what guys? Doesn't matter. A browser can have absolutely NO protection and nothing will happen as long as you have an up-to-date antivirus. A browser isn't a antivirus system.

Statistically, Opera is the best free browser out there. You seem to have problems with your computer in general, even a perfect browser won't save you from those.

Safari is what I use, sometimes I use firefox. I really don't care, to be honest, as long as it's not internet explorer. The only thing I used internet explorer for is to download firefox, took 3 tries because of crashing and download failing :wall: .

Uh, I use the client but if its a diferent comp I use IE.

Its easy to use, has like no problems at all for me :P

Meh it doesn't have a few features firefox has, but to run Rs you don't need them anyway...

(and Firefox crashes all the time)

Browser doesn't make that big of a difference, so long as its regularly stable (Which, with a updated and patched system, all 3 of the major contenders are). Runescape runs Java, so it mostly depends on your Java version and a little on how your browser's Java plugin works. As for SwiftKit and the official Runescape client, they all are running masked IE (Don't believe me? Go to any website that displays what browser you are running).

I dont get how firefox crashes...

Iv used Firefox from 2.0 to the current (even going into the beta version of 3, before it was released) and I have hardly ever had problems with it.

IE just loads things too slow. Firefox is the only one Ill ever use. Customizable, fast, and way more secure than IE.

I was sick and tired of Firefox crashing all the time (of course, this was the beta), so I started playing on Safari, and I like it a lot more, actually. Plus, it means that if I accidentally open, like, a video online and it unexpectedly quits, I don't DC at gargoyles or something. :P

Of course I'm sure you're not Mac, so you might want to use the client from the site. I would if I could.
