Chinchompa Nerf - Good or Bad?

The reason that the only output product of the skill was red chins is the downfall of hunter.

 

 

 

Yes, I have gotten 99 hunter for the ranged training, it was fun while it lasted, good xp, you lived life on the black edge. Had a chit chat with the ocassional other hunters around. Fought for your spots. Then you had to get 13 million gp for the prayer potions. Thats a shedload of money for me at that time.

 

 

 

Then I started training ranged at monkeys, I litterally laughed for a full 15 minutes, the xp was IN SANE.

 

 

 

Now that they are nerfed, hunter is dead, and rangers will have to settle with 100k xp per hour.

 

 

 

I'm a proud hunter, and I knew all along that this skill was doomed. Seriously there is no real benefit from hunter, except for the chins and dragon arrows. Sure there are those new furballs that roam the elven lands, but I don't see a lot of people training there.

 

 

 

Hunter, Smithing, Mining, Crafting, Herblore, Farming, Prayer, Woodcutting, Firemaking... All of these skills need updating to ensure they are not left behind in the dust. These are pretty much skills of the past. All of these are obsolete moneymaking skills.

Can you explain why Farming, Prayer , and Woodcutting need to be updated? Seriously, Farming is one of the best true moneymakers left in the game IF you don't grow trees and grow herbs for major profit.

Hmm, I never cared much for chinchomping for 99 range.

 

I never really saw the use. I once ice bursted at Ape Atoll tunnels, found it to be boring, got my 83 magic, then left.

 

Maybe people will start using darts now....wait no! Then dragon darts won't be cheap anymore, ah crap...

Everyone just complains that skills in this game are too easy and require no skill, talent, or time and that everything is buyable. People who used Chins at Atoll are looked down upon and 99 range "doesn't mean what it used to anymore."

 

 

 

But now you have two more skills effected by this ONE CHANGE (hunter and range) which'll be much harder to 99 (or less efficient and money-making) and a huge majority of people aren't on board with this?

It may be easier now though as there could be less hunters.

 

 

 

They shouldn't have nerfed the spot. The time it took the people that buy 99 range could take the same amount of time it took to get it the ordinary way, eg. ranging fire giants.

 

 

 

If a player makes there money they should be able to spend it on whatever they like.

 

 

 

I can say it's good in 1 way but it's also bad.

Good for me, makes it easier for 99 hunter, since its nerfed, less people hunting them= more exp for me. Bad for the people who only wanted cash, I just want 99 hunter, for the goal and that hawt cape.

Just because something isn't as once profitable as it used to be does NOT mean it's worthless and shouldn't be used as a money maker. Come on, that's just childish over reacting. Look at how many people make millions every week from barrowing, when in the past they would have made anywhere from 1-5x as much for the same work.

 

 

 

Don't over react people - as stated before, mummies are like what, 50k per hour less experience BUT your prayer potion costs get covered? Not THAT awful of a trade off.

anyone saying mummies/nechs/etc are not as good is most likely just doing it incorrectly in those places.

 

 

 

I chinned to 93ish range a long time ago, then did 93-my current 19m exp all at god wars. Range is not a hard skill anyway, just use it more often (ex- slayer, god wars, etc), and you'll get good exp.

Yeah but you didn't earn anything from getting 99 woodcutting or 99 fishing either unless you did the slow way of sharks/magics. Either way, hunter is still significantly faster than those two and you'll still make a considerable profit as well.

Not all of us can Barrow, Hunters are usally weak little people with low skills, Like me >.<

They're probably the most under-rated spot in the game: i averaged 300k worth of drops every trip from 97-99 range.

 

 

 

now i don't really see why people bother paying almost 50% more for red chins than regular ones...

I don't have a problem with Jagex nerfing them, but I do wish they wouldn't have waited so long to do it. When Jagex feels that something should be nerfed, they should nerf it as soon as they can, not wait 1 1/2 years after it comes out. Just like Pest Control, it probably needed to be done, but it should have been done sooner, so fewer people would be able to take advantage of it. However, it's better late than never.

You should write a guide on that spot ... I dismissed it since it was too much of a hassle for me to lure them so that I could hit 9 at a time

Just get them all on you, then run 2 squares in any diagonal direction to lure at least 7 into a hitable location, mummies will just be more crowded, no big problem with them nerfing MM dungeons, just means chins will drop.

While the 240k xp per hour at 98 range was very nice indeed, its still possible to get 180-200k in chaos tunnels. This update has only left 1 spot die off, albeit the best and easiest.
