There is a huge wealth divide in America and it has been brought into the spotlight more recently with the OWS protests but I don't believe we're the only ones with this problem. I'd be willing to say any capitalist society faces these problems.

I would have thought that Canada would score a lot worse than that (on the income inequality). From my time spent in the USA, most of the time I have felt like I could still be back in Canada. I guess that's what happens when your just doing the tourist thing, and not actually living there.

I think part of it is that we don't have nearly as many wealthy people, and our wealthy are not as wealthy, coupled with possibly a smaller proportion of poverty sticken people. There is still one heck of a divide here though, with a shrinking middle class.

As for the homicides, we look to be about on par with Europe, which makes sense to me. Kinda makes me want to take a look at the justice systems used in Europe and Japan though, to see what they are doing differently. My guess is that the countries with the lowest scores are the ones that focus on rehabilitation, rather than just throwing everyone in jail for decades at a time (I can't say I like the idea of rehabilitation over huge sentences, but I also can't deny that it seems to work way better).

I think hating on the US is like an international past time. I know its fairly common for Canadians to make fun of Americans for their poor knowledge of Canadian geography, especially when it comes to underestimating just how big Canada is (which is some place around 300,000 sq mi larger than the United States). In Nova Scotia, its people who try to get taxi's from Halifax to Toronto, which is a roughly 18 hour drive, and would cost you several grand.

Also, people who don't realise it's not winter here ALL year. We actually do get people who arrive here in the summer and effectively brought snowsuits with them #-o

For a very funny list of questions people were asking when we hosted the Vancouver Olympics (and awesome answers to those questions), see this site. And its not just Americans. There are questions from a few countries on there.

Sister and her boyfriend are hooking up on my couch. I walk by and fart loudly.

That's been my day so far

My mum used the word 'awesome', which is weird considering she has an indian accent. People don't expect it from her haha.

Pretty boring day, been working hard all week just to get my next weekend free but even with all this back breaking effort it may not happen.

On an awesome note, my iPod's battery didn't die when listening to it from 1am till 10pm. iPods are worth the money.

Depends what you're doing. I can text and listen to music non-stop for a full day. I can only watch a couple hours of video, though. Also I have a racing game on my iPhone that drains a full battery in about 2 hours.

I've never stepped foot in American Eagle, Hollister, Abercrombie, or Aeropostale in my entire life and I'm very proud of that.

You are so lucky. The mall only has like, 2 types of shops for guys. Unisex clothing stores and Gamestop, and there's 2 Gamestops 5 minutes from my house.

I once stepped into an American Eagle, the music and toxic fumes drove me out.

Looking for a little bit of help, thought I'd go here since it's just a quick question:

Does any one know of some decent over-ear headphones for >$50? Durability is the main concern, I don't want them break in a month like the cheap earbuds I've been buying. So I guess as a followup question, are wireless ones worth it as over ones with wires? It's always the wires that seem to break for me.

I have Sennheiser 428s that I'm in love with, but they're $100. Very durable, fairly soundproof. Wireless headphones tend to be of a lesser quality (sound-wise) than wired.

The mall is so... pointless if you're a male who doesn't care about Hollister or American Eagle.

Nihilistic would be a better suited word there.

Sorry, but seeing "happiness" dangled in front of me like a carrot makes me wonder what we're all in this for. I don't get why, according to "hard working" capitalists, quality can be nothing more than a facade. I would much rather build than embellish.

Would you recommend Sennheiser in general as a brand? They all seem to have pretty good reviews, my only real concern is if they have durable enough wires, I tend to abuse them a fair amount and I don't want to have a useless pair of headphones just because of a short in the wire.

Edit: Are these what you have?

Stomach feels better but now I dont for eating half a Pizza. I need to start researching healthier meals to make and not resort to the "Frozen Pizza in the Freezer because there's nothing left" moment.

Playing Assassin's Creed Revelations today, it's freaking fun. I played multiplayer last night and got raped because I sucked w/the controls but now I think I've gotten the hang of them :3

Sennheiser is an excellent make. I'll probably only buy sennheiser headphones again as long as they keep making them. The wire seems to be durable enough...I abuse it a fair bit (Getting it caught on things, pulling on it accidentally, ect) and as far as I can tell, there's absolutely no damage to them. The pair I have has a very long wire, don't know if that's a good or a bad thing for you. I don't know how long most Sennheiser wires tend to be - my brother has a pair with a much shorter wire.

Edit: Yeah, that's them. I got them from bestbuy, too. But they were twice the price a few months ago. :|
