unkn0wnwarrior
Good luck Skull, and I do hope you will return to us when you get used to the new life. For the last couple of months, we have had a sinkhole in our front lawn. It is slowly expanding and is now close to 2 (6-7 feet) meters in diameter. As it is technically on city property, we called the landlord who called the city (after our second call and a lie about a 5 year old coming to visit soon) and they fenced it off yesterday. Today they are pumping water out of it, but they said they can't fix it until next week. When I heard that, I was hoping they would wait long enough that their fence fell in. Duff
College begins in three weeks for me as well. And I'm ready for it. Of course, it'll be my second year, so I already know what to expect, and I expect this year to be a lot more fun than last year (since I spent the whole first semester playing Runescape). But, I haven't organized or packed anything for it, yet. Three weeks is a long time, though. | My Tumblr |
Skull
Wow, uh thanks guys, I didn't expect that kind of support. I'm not leaving yet, nor do I know that I'm going to be leaving for sure. In all honesty, I woke up today wanting to play Runescape, something that I haven't done in a year. I think that once I get used to college life I'll almost definitely be back. I'm going to have plenty of time where I don't have classes, I'm even done for the day at 10am twice a week. As soon as I get the hang of doing homework and studying, I'll probably be right back here. Thanks again though, it really means a lot to me. I'm going to run around and get some stuff done before I have to go to work so my mom doesn't murder me and so I don't start playing Runescape  [bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp
K4ylan
I still need to "read" Catcher in the Rye (I read it a while back, and it sucked donkey balls. I'm just going to use sparknotes to catch up). I also need to read some Spanish book and do an assignment, which hopefully won't take long. Three weeks seems long, but it really isn't. ~~~The Harpy List~~~Harpy Facts~~~It's Super Effective~~~The Beginning~~~Harpy Therapy Center~~~Alg~~~Jedi Harpy~~~Rohirrim~~~Attenuation~~~
Duff
My freshman class [of college] was told to read a certain book before the school year started. I thought that was the dumbest thing ever, and I only ended up reading half of it (cause I found out about it a week before school began). Fortunately, I didn't take an English Comp class first semester, and by second semester, all the profs had forgotten we were told to read it. Summer reading is dumb when it's assigned. Summer reading for pleasure is top notch, though. | My Tumblr |

Duff
The day after I got my wisdom teeth pulled, I participated in a football camp. My coach wouldn't let me sit out since I was a senior captain. Summer reading for pleasure is top notch, though. Reading assignments are never fun. Our (really awesome) history teacher actually said so once. :P That's why I generally either:- read just the back cover / what Wikipedia has to say about it- read a bit here and there- read only half of it. I only read the whole book if it's really short or really interesting (so far the only interesting book has been Brave New World). Somehow I've never got caught, in fact just the opposite (the teachers say that I've read and understood the book really well). The Runar's (OSRS) DIY blog - most viewed Blogscape blog ever! The_Gabe
I always read the books. I've used spark notes for one book in my life so far, and that was for Silent Spring. I dare anyone to try and read that book without getting bored. Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy. Surprise
I went into my AS Literature exam not reading one of the pre selected texts and only briefly glancing at the other.. Wasn't the smartest idea. Just heard there is a programme called pornstar on the history channel? Or did I really miss hear this advert...

Except the business model is a bit shaky at best, blatantly annoying at worst. On one hand, they gotta make a profit, which is fine. On the other, they seriously undercut people who bring in stuff to sell. On the OTHER hand, some really cool stuff shows up from time to time. I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. They've done it multiple times - history of the sexual revolution, introduction of prostitution, fascination over sexual stimulation...plus all the "behind the music" type things about celebrities, a couple of which were former porn stars. Although I might be thinking of the Discovery channel... Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Anyone who likes logic is incapable of tacos. Duff
The only classic book assigned to me that I fully read and fully enjoyed (besides Ender's Game) was Catch-22. I dunno what it was, but I just found that book extremely entertaining. Went on a tour with one of the older guys who works in my building. He's super opinionated. Not only that, but he gave me the whole, 'You've got it made, dude. Don't take these opporunities for granted.' And it actually did strike me this time, because I've been given those talks before, but I never really digested it like I did his talk. What a badass. | My Tumblr |
