Today I took the ASVAB. Last time I took it was in high school and my scores were no longer valid since it was longer than 3 years since I've graduated. My recruiter was extremely happy with my scores and bought me food on the way home. Next week is when I will probably swear in.

Found out quizzes in one of my classes were worth 30% of my grade. I only took one of them, and as such my grade is a D despite getting an A on the midterm and probably the final after the curve. I'm currently more or less begging my TA to let me do something about it. She's currently considering letting me make up one of the quizzes, which means I'll at least get a C if she does. But this was a class that I was assuming that I would get a B or better in, no problem.

 

Also, @Randox, that was 4 finals over two days. So two each day, not 4 in one.

Ah. That's still brutal, though not quite as much. Honestly, I don't think anyone should ever write two exams in a day, at least never back to back. Attention is not an infinite resource that you have at your disposal by virtue of being awake. The brain can become fatigued just as the body can.

Friend came and picked me up from Omaha, and I have to crash at her boyfriend's place tonight after sleeping on her couch yesterday (and getting her in trouble with her RA).

 

Don't have anything to do until I leave for Kearney tomorrow. I don't know the people in this house either. I kinda wish I had had my mom come get me; it would have made my life so much easier.

 

I wish there was an easier way to get home all the time. :/

Had a pretty intense flight today. Took off with 19kt crosswind, figured the wind would die down by the time i got back. It did, but some rain clouds decided to sit right over the airport. Oh and to the south west of the airport, which is where i was coming from. Really just my luck. Everywhere else was fine except for where i was coming from. Drizzle is also terrible to fly in.I would fly in proper rain over a drizzle any day. Couldn't see the airport till i was about 4 miles from it, and it's not always easy setting up an approach in such a short time.

 

Was a fun experience though. I believe i handled it pretty well. And i'm still alive :D

I feel like I did really well on my Calc exam today, but I'm not quite sure how how I did on Physics. I know for sure I got 3 wrong and I could only get 4 wrong to get an A in the class, but if I end up getting an A- thats obviously still fine lol. Just one exam left on Tuesday that shouldn't be too bad, and I'm going home for the weekend in between at least to see some of my friends I haven't gotten to see in a couple months. I just can't wait until this semester is completely over though.

The amount of jack-shit I did today was off the charts... I basically just watched South Park, Family Guy, and Bionicle 2. It really sucks having to take a final tomorrow, I should have gone home yesterday. =/

Like a lot of you, final exams. I'd guess most people are bored of hearing about exams by now but oh well :D

 

Done 2 out of 3 of mine, with the last one being tomorrow morning. Absolutely aced my first 2, which were in Mechanical Properties of Materials and Nuclear Engineering - which is good because they were worth 70% and 50% of my final marks, respectively.

Tomorrow is my Business exam, which is actually technically a midterm since it's a full year course. And also it's business so as far as I'm concerned it's not a real class and doesn't require much studying haha.

 

I also got formally accepted to grad school! So I'll be starting on my master's degree in the summer term, right after I graduate.

Damn Rob, how did you manage to read that much in one day? I usually pass out after about an hour of staring at text, no matter how interesting. Haven't be able to power-read since the 7th Harry Potter book, and even that took me 2 weeks.

My reading has dropped to the point where I barely read a book a month. Which is actually a point of shame for me because a few years ago I went through two books a week....

Yeah, same here. I've been far too busy working and paying the bills. I'm lucky to get a half an hour to read something while lying in bed at the end of the day.

I finished with finals, and now I'm home playing around with my new computer. Unfortunately though, Windows 8 sucks.

Calc final in T-minus 25 minutes. All I'm asking for is a D, a D- would be okay even. I just don't want to fail. I'll take another blow to my GPA, I just don't want to have to take Calculus again.

This morning I went to the funeral of the older brother of a friend of mine who died 2 weeks ago. It's really gotten me in a strange mood all day.

I've got to take 5 finals next week, 2 should be a breeze, 1 medium and 2 difficult (Calculus BC and Physics B). I need a 96 on Calculus final to get an A, which won't happen.

I find my general approch to life generally leaves me time to do about two things I want to do in any given day. I have my daily reading, which compensates me for any stimulation not happening in my life, or if it's just not enough variety. I need to learn new things. This is why I exist.

 

I also normally have some time for personal entertainment beyond the TV I watch when I'm alone. Typically, my attention span is so that I can play about one game per week or two, then switch to the next one. At any given time, I probably have 3-4 games I want to play, whcih is a problem. By the time I get through them, I'm ready to start again. RuneScape is different in that I can pair it up with other activities.

 

Part of it is the way I focus on things. When I find something that interests me, it will become my entire world for at least the next two hours. I've actually leanred to not read before bed anymore because that normally means going to sleep just in time to wake up (it's not entirely uncommon for me to read a book in one sitting).

 

 

 

My laptop is getting sketchy. If I'm going to be useing this much, or for much longer, I think it will just wipe it and start over. There are almost programs it needs anymore, that's what the PC does. It's just getting...weird. My PC might get like that next year, its normally the way, though I still think I'm doing better with it.

Finally home! I can take a shower again!

 

I really hate that limbo between being in Omaha at college, and being home in Kearney. Spent two says sleeping on couches in Lincoln, which besides being weird because I don't know all the people whose couch I'm sleeping on, I don't sleep well on couches and I don't like to eat when I'm traveling.

 

But now I'm home for three weeks, and I don't have to talk to people unless I want to, and I don't have to work unless I want to, and I can essentially do whatever the hell I want. So good.

Failed it almost definitely. Looks like I'm taking Calc 2 again.
