I went to the pool today with a friend. About 10 minutes later it rained and they closed for the day.

So your summer (/life) couldn't have been that boring.

Last day of band camp. I got my uniform, did some last touch up on our field show, and memorized some more music. We marched in during freshemn oreation and played our fight song (tis tradition at Concord University) Came home and chilled with my family.

Today it was really hot so I went out on the boat with my family from 1pm - 6pm. Tomorrow I'm going to learn how to slalom ski (waterski with only one ski), so I'm pretty excited for that.

 

I just finished watching Dark Side of the Rainbow. That's when you sync up Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon to the movie, Wizard of Oz, and completely mute the music volume. It's really weird how much some of the events sync up. I've only heard negative things about it from people I know, but I thought it was really great and don't believe it's one big coincidence.

Today was pretty busy for me. First I woke up at 6:30 (was difficult, I stayed up till 3:30 reading my summer assignment book ; _ ; ), so me and my parents could get to the DMV before it opened and beat the crowd. Then when we got there, I couldn't get my license plates because apparently the dealer didn't give us our title :\ By then it was about 8:30 and I was going to buy a guitar at guitar center so we headed over there. Got there around 9:15, found out they open at 10:00. So we headed over to the Borders and drank coffee for a while. It tasted like my childhood (long story, I won't go into it). Then I decided to check out their music books and they have an awesome selection, I'm definitely returning to that Borders. I ended up buying a classical guitar for dummies book; I know, I lol'd at it too but when I was flipping through the chapters I realized how much information is really in it. The first few chapters were what I was expecting - correct posture, how to sight read, etc. But once I got further I noticed how deep this really is. There are nearly fifteen pages on arpeggio technique, ten pages on musical textures, twelve pages on tone-production techniques, and other stuff. Plus it's got a circle of fifths on the first page, for easy reference. Totally worth the $25 \ ! Then at 10:00 we left and went to guitar center. Turns out they don't have the guitar I wanted, and I nearly bought a cheaper one just because I didn't want to order it online. But nope, I resisted and ordered it when I got home. Pretty proud of myself for that :lol: .

 

 

 

Then we went to Lowe's and got home around 11:30. Lurked tif for about 30 minutes then ate lunch. Then I recorded my new song for three hours, then had to help empty the garage. That carried on till 6:30 when I ate dinner, then after that until 10:15. -.- [runescape]I missed ANOTHER TET event because of it :( [/runescape]

 

 

 

Then I finished recording my song in about two hours, send it to my drummer for mixing (even though I did a pretty good job, he insists we do more). Now I've been IM-ing/facebooking for a good hour and am about to go to bed.

 

 

 

Oh! And I found a coffee shop that has open mic night every saturday. Once I get good at classical guitar I think I'll start playing there every weekend \

what if one of the admins got hit by a train ? what would be the procedure ? I mean it's not like their next of kin is going to come on this forum and say. hey look, das is dead. hafta' find a new admin.

 

 

 

and a worse fate awaits us, lowly, normal users. all those connections severed. figuratively.

Today I'm going on a 7hr coach trip to my cousin's house in West London. Why I'm going? So I can be cramped in a house with 11 people and sleep on a wooden floor with limited space. I'm dreading it. I can't read fanfiction and I can only watch various animes.

 

Also, the word on the street is that we're going to have a brief heatwave. Yay...

 

I wouldn't mind if we were going to somewhere that was NOT West London. It's so boring. I can't even take my camera because it'll probably get stolen.

I woke up around midday, cleaned up from last nights party, had a nap for about a hour.

 

 

 

Dont some washing, bought some aloe vera, tape, steri dressing and pain killers from the shop, and have been watching a film and playing runescape the last hour and a bit... thats my day so far lol.

 

 

 

My first day off in a month so i have done very little :-P

Having been here for a few years now, I've seen a good deal of users come and go.

 

You generally don't hear from people after they leave - I can only think of two, maybe three exceptions for me.

 

Being the pessimist and paranoid person I am, I often leap to the conclusion - hm, maybe they're dead. No one ever says "bye guys, I'm quitting this forum" anymore. So maybe they were randomly killed.

 

But that's probably my pessimism shining through. I sure as hell hope that former TIFers and still alive and kicking.
