Apparently Jump is on a break until the 2nd week in January. I've been slacking on most of it's big manga through so I'll probably catch up when it starts up again.

I watched all of Panty and Stocking and I couldn't just sit and watch it all, I had to have some breaks, but it was overall pretty funny at most points and the ending was, not exactly epic in any sense but the twist the story takes is completely weird and I must say that a lot of anime forums are stumped over what the hell went on.

 

Season two is coming though, hopefully that will clear something up.

I hate the fake Spring 2011 chart floating around. First time I saw it I almost had a heart attack seeing Umineko Chiru but then I saw it was fake and just cried ;_;

 

Working my way through Bakemonogatari slowly, not watched much anime over the past few weeks and my habit of watching it on iPod while travelling is gonna stop since I've got my kindle to read on, now. Oh well.

When a chart is too good to be true, well... it's not true. I got used to dismissing the idea of a new Berserk anime so much that it took me a long while to convince myself that it's actually happening.

 

I've been watching Spice & Wolf: Season 2 and Slayers: Try.

 

Also, has anyone here read Afterschool Charisma? It's a fairly new manga about a high school composed of clones of historical figures, such as Napoleon, Joan of Arc, Hitler, Mozzart, etc. It's not jaw-dropping good, but it's entertaining, and the concept is quite good.

I've forgotten how great the Studio Ghibli Collection is. Just watched My Neighbor Totoro and the little sister in it is so cute <3

 

And yay, Kimi ni Todoke's second season has just started :D Hope it doesn't get as tedious as the first season did...

Finished Slayers Next, Spice & Wolf S2, and watched the Black Lagoon Omake. I normally delete everything after watching it, but no way I'm deleting the Omake. Hillarious stuff.

 

Gonna watch Roberta's Blood Trail and Slayers Try.

 

Also, started reading Fist of the North Star. I had downloaded it a long time ago, but now I'm hooked.

Maybe, but would a normal porn site put up articles of Japan scrapping a third of its tanks and artillery?

Eh Sankaku's really a biased blog site. So many of the articles are just nonsensical (especially the random porn ones) but I still check it out sometimes...

 

Besides that, yay winter season? Only watched IS so far but people are over analyzing anime this season again and being too critical :\

 

Berserk movie announced. There is no way to fit everything they showed on the trailers in one movie, so I'm assuming it's gonna be a series of movies.

 

It takes him one [bleep]ing year to write 3 chapters, just how the [bleep] does he plan to do a movie? I guess it will come out in the 20's.

Started watching PSG last night. Good times :D Never seemed like something I'd enjoy but I really am, it's so mad that it's just funny...

 

I strangely like Panty too, when I assumed I'd just like Stocking and dismiss Panty as a bit of a slag but no, I actually like them both. I'm not a big Brief fan, though, I don't *really* see his cuteness.

I thought this season wouldn't be that great, but then I watched Infinite Stratos, Gosick, and Yumekui Merry. All great shows that I plan to watch all the way through.

 

The Japanese are raving about Mahou Shoujo but it really doesn't seem that great...

Just bought Maria Holic on DVD. I saw it on amazon and for £17 I figured [bleep] it, I might as well. I loved that series :thumbsup:

I know it's old news, but I just found out that a new FMA movie is slated for release in July 2011.

Just finished Kaichou wa Maid-Sama.

 

7/10. Probably would have been an 8 if it weren't for the not-particularly-intense ending that it had.

Just finished Blood+ and loved it! Definitely worth the 8GB it takes up, haha. Time to re-watch School Rumble.

Watched School Days... decent anime but I've never hated a Main Character before like I have Makoto. I'm very glad about what happened to him, adulterous, cheating little [puncture]. Violent ending... which is good, I always like my violent animus.

I'm watching Freezing...it needs some work.

 

I'm reading Freezing...and it's awesome. Even though Kazuya Aoi is a bit of a wimp at least he's not like Makoto from School Days.

 

Also the truth about fast food:

I found out about a Franken Fran drama CD. At first I was like "What the [bleep]?", having never heard about drama CDs any time before, but decided to give it a go. It's actually pretty interesting. Franken Fran is much creepier when you can hear the screams and the splashing of blood and all. And considering that an anime adaptation is practically impossible due to all the censoring it would need, moreso with the new laws being passed, I guess this is nice enough. Shame it's in Japanese only. (Or maybe that's a pro, seeing as how most english voice actors tend to be bad).

 

Also, started watching Baccano! and reading Yotsuba&!. !.

 

Edit: Finished watching Baccano!, it's by far one of the best anime I've seen. The story is a perfect mix of action, mystery and comedy, and the sountrack is amazing.

Gonna start watching Bartender now.

In the past week, I watched both Gunbuster and Diebuster. There's always a lot of contention about which of the two is better, and here are my thoughts on the matter:

 

Gunbuster is very much an art piece. It conveys some pretty heavy themes in a way that isn't too overt. It is very appreciable.

Diebuster doesn't really have themes in the literary sense that Gunbuster does, but what it has is a great soundtrack, fun characters, and a cool art style. It is very enjoyable.

 

One his highbrow and the other is more middlebrow, grading them on the same scale would be apples and oranges.

Sweet. When you've watched Higurashi (& Higurashi Kai) then watch Umineko :D Made by the same guy, not exactly the same thing but still the two follow the same sort of 'resetting arcs' format :D

 

Just started watching Revolutionary Girl Utena. An older anime, for me at least, but quite good. I'm also downloading Rozen Maiden & Gunslinger Girl. I'm trying to work through 'need to see' anime to increase my power level :rolleyes: I just love being able to create diagrams of anime I've seen, list them... ect. I collect anime, if that makes sense.

It feels like I'm living in K-On myself. I cannot really play anything except some basic stuff on guitar, and suddenly I'm a bassist in a school band. :thumbsup:
