August 11, 200619 yr It's all a matter of perspective. If you think that humans last forever and that life is just a wisp of vapor that vanishes into the wind compared to the eternal glory promised to us through Christ, then it is clear that you should die for your beliefs. We all die anyway, might as well go down fighting for something you believe in. Some beliefs are worth dying for. Life itself is worth dying for. Now that's an interesting thing to ponder. So you think the suicide-bombing terrorists are right in killing themselves for their religion? I guess he only means that in a methaphorical way. ^The most disturbing signature on Tip.it^Last.fm|HELLY KAYLA!|Oh the mehagurtz!|#Siencemakers"they care less about their spelling mistakes then I." - Lionheart"apinagez... let me
August 11, 200619 yr No. Not for beliefs, not for my country... I do not consider them worth dieing for. And that has nothing to do with being nervous. Conscientious Objector? Anybody who watches futurama will know what I mean! Yeah I'm a coward =P. As of right now I don't feel strong enough to anything to die for it. ps: Hey Sonsie
August 11, 200619 yr Pool does not enclude my choice. "No, my faith does not believe in killing others or myself."
August 11, 200619 yr Depends on what the belief I would be dieing for is. I believe Coca Cola is better than Pepsi but theres no way in hell that I would die for that belief. That example is a little bit on the extreme side but you should get my point...
August 11, 200619 yr Yes, I would die for my belief in Jesus Christ. There is not much to life here so it would be oh so much sweeter when I get to be next to my savior. I just love standing up for my Jesus, he is just that cool! A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
August 11, 200619 yr No, of course not. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
August 11, 200619 yr If someone held a gun to my head and said: "You will believe in religion for the rest of your life, you will go to the local church everyday and praise ________" I would rather die than live that way. I am an athiest/non-religious person. I am an Atheist, and I take pride in it.
August 11, 200619 yr way to many variables to give a yes or no answer. depends entirely on the situation. so i guess ill put "maybe".

So you think the suicide-bombing terrorists are right in killing themselves for their religion? Well, that's an interesting question. I respect them for doing what their religion tells them to do. I respect them for laying their lives down for a cause beyond themselves. However, I'm not a muslim; I'm a Christian. Unfortunately, they were radical for the wrong cause. They were brainwashed, pure and simple. I think killing others is wrong, so they committed terrible sins. But you have to remember that they are simply following their religion, so they were brainwashed into doing that and thinking they'd receive 40 virgins in heaven. I'm currently transitioning from a Wizard to a Mage and a Priest to an Archpriest. Lol both are nonexistant in the top 25. Hopefully I can change that. :D

Their loyalty and dedication is admirable, but what they do is not.
August 11, 200619 yr No dying for your faith is stupidest thing you can do if every christian died for thier faith christianity would die out result: they all died just to kill thier faith better to live and keep your faith alive in your heart than die an kill your faith through wearing it on your skin. ahahaha IMA A IDIOT cant argue there mateReal world? *looks around confuzzled* Real world?!? :ohnoes:have now quit rs :-( (but i still browse these forums :-)

You sure about that? When persecution happens in the Christian Church, population in the Christian Church grows. Pm me sometime and I can give you a better idea on how this happens. Lets just say its a dominoe effect. For every one that falls another one is there, or in alot of cases, there is more than one. A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
August 11, 200619 yr I don't think my beliefs involve suicide. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
August 11, 200619 yr Never. I LIVE in my beliefs...dying for them would kind-of defeat the purpose of that, wouldn't it? I love languages.J'adore les langues.ÃÆÃ
August 11, 200619 yr @piano: They follow their religious texts just like you follow yours. How come they are considered brainwashed but you are not?

Lets just say its a dominoe effect. For every one that falls another one is there, or in alot of cases, there is more than one. No kidding! Why do you think Christianity is going to grow so much in the end times? Why it's because we're persecuted so much and people get to see us LIVING out our faith as the way it was meant to be, not hiding behind church facades and happy faces when it suits us like much of Christianity today. @piano: They follow their religious texts just like you follow yours. How come they are considered brainwashed but you are not? dictionary.com says that brainwashing is "indoctrinating forcibly." Now, over in the Middle Eastern Arab nations, the kids are forcibly told to be muslim or become outcasts. In fact, if one becomes a Christian, the entire family disowns them. A post earlier was made on this very subject concerning the muslim religion (they killed their daughter I think? Anyway, just do a search on it). Now, the American founding fathers were Christian and, seeing the persecution and terrible way the "Christian" church in Great Britain was becoming, they decided to make it so NO religion would be mandated or required. Now I'm all for Christian parents or muslim parents or Hindu parents teaching their kids their belief system. After all, the parents believe it for a reason (hopefully something other than tradition but that's not always the case). I'm for freedom like that because I don't like the government having so much power. However, to forcibly tell someone to die or to follow their religion is wrong. Once you declare a religion, go all out. If you're muslim, go kill the infidels. (Well, I don't really want you to do that, but at least go all-out for your religion, ok?). If you're Christian, live your life sold out for Jesus Christ. The WORST thing to do is to be apathetic or "lukewarm" as John in the book of revelation said. That's what I think. I'm currently transitioning from a Wizard to a Mage and a Priest to an Archpriest. Lol both are nonexistant in the top 25. Hopefully I can change that. :D
August 12, 200619 yr ok what if i wanted to chose "i wont do squat for my religion" or to shorten it "hell no" wheres that and to all the talk about dieing for your country why would you do it your gonna die for another thing to start up two weeks later besides i live in america ain't worth die'n for Ponies!
August 12, 200619 yr Actually, pianofreak, the American founding fathers weren't Christians at all. They were Deists. At any rate, the Qu'ran seems no worse than the Bible to me. There's PLENTY of violent commands by "God" in both, and the vast, vast majority of "dedicated" Christians that I've met were nothing like Jesus at all. Just look at Pat Robertson! To quote Mahatma Gahndi, "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ." I love languages.J'adore les langues.ÃÆÃ
August 12, 200619 yr Piano, Islam does not teach its followers to go kill the infidels. Believing this is very unfair to the majority of Islam followers, who believe in not killing, like other Bible-based religions. It is a perversion of the Islam religion - a sect - that believes terrorism is justified. Here is an interesting article, called "Arab Majority May Not Stay Silent Forever." I found it interesting and informative: http://www.nysun.com/article/36110?page_no=1 Everybody hug and spread the love :D
August 12, 200619 yr I think since my beliefs include a life after death then yes I would die for my faith. But then again I think saying it now is a lot easier than acually being able to do if the time comes. So I dont really know for sure how I would react in a situation like this :-k . ok what if i wanted to chose "i wont do squat for my religion" or to shorten it "hell no" wheres that and to all the talk about dieing for your country why would you do it your gonna die for another thing to start up two weeks later besides i live in america ain't worth die'n for Woah there hold your horses! First of all what do you mean by something starting two weeks later? I respect your belief that you dont want to die for your country. but use some periods in that paragraph so its easier to make sense of.

August 12, 200619 yr I would die for anyone unless I thought they didn't deserve to live. It's probably because I don't really fear death (just pain) as I don't believe in the ludicrous idea of Hell, and that I've never valued my life all that much. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.
August 12, 200619 yr yes i'll just respawn in a different body anyways but i'm not ready to give up my life yet. But i wanna see the whell soooo badly :(
