Skeptical
I steal A LOT, and I believe I may be a kleptomaniac. Normally I steal snacks (head into the grocery store and grab a soda and candy or beef jerky or something). I also steal Magic cards. I believe it's stupid to pay that much for some cards, but I like to play the game so I end up stealing them. I do set rules for myself though, the main two being 1) Never steal alone. 2) Never steal from local/small establishments, only big chain stores. My rules are probably just rationale to myself to try and justify my thievery. In the past 4 months I've probably stolen near 100$ worth of food and around 70-80$ worth of Magic cards. Lately I've been having urges whenever I go into places to steal things, even things I don't want, just for the sake of doing it. Also, 2 days ago I got caught stealing. Somewhat. They never actually caught.accused me, long story. That's a bad idea, always go alone and never tell people you know. Family and friends will look down at you and will lose their trust for you if they know you steal and can be used as evidence against you in court. The most I've ever stolen before is a book out of Barnes & Noble. Good book, but that was essentially the only thing I've ever stolen before (and most likely the only thing that I will steal besides music). Also: 1) Steal alone, because you don't want others to get in trouble if you get caught 2) It's actually much easier to get caught in larger establishments because they usually have higher security. You can steal from things like gas stations or smaller stores owned by big chains simply because they have blind spots to their cameras and/or they don't always have the tag-sensing thing. There's actually a game store at our local mall that doesn't have the tag-sensing things, so it would actually be ridiculously easy to steal from there -- the only problem is that the store employees watch you all the time. 3) Don't dress sketchily. Just don't wear baggy clothing and attempt to steal small things. If you can, dress nicely but have a coat to wear -- it helps if you steal when it's either cold or raining out. 4) Stay away from places that sell very expensive things (i.e., Best Buy), because they will have higher security as well. It's best to steal from places that have a mix of very cheap items and moderately-expensive items. 5) Stealing is bad, mmk. You'll continue doing it until you get caught, going after larger, more expensive and more difficult items. Whether or not you can justify it to yourself will also hardly be taken notice of by the law. It's safe to assume that you're a minor, but even then I doubt that a couple hundred dollars worth of food and paper is actually worth it If you're going to steal, do it from large corporations: it's still a crime, but it's the thieving equivalent of white collar crime, and store employees are less likely to actually care: it's not their stuff that you're jacking. fastortoise
I only stole once and it was from a drug dealer (bad choice, I know). But he was a moron and didn't notice me pocket a handful of weed as he was using his fancy new scale to weigh out a gram for me. It seems like stealing playing cards is popular on tif. I remember once my mom had to pick me up from school to take me to the hospital to get a shot, and I don't remember why she also took my best friend, who had to take the shot aswell. While my mom was talking with the school rector about it, we were in the room next to it and we saw a pile of like 50 Magic: The Gathering cards, which we had previously found in our class (one of the kids from the other shift must had forgotten it there, and when we found them the teacher took it from us). So, seeing as nobody was watching, we went ahead and took them, and we later split them half and half. I still got mine lyring arround somewhere, but I never bothered to learn the rules. Still, the drawings are quite cool.
Furah
1) Steal alone, because you don't want others to get in trouble if you get caughtNo, it's because more people are more likely to drawn attention, that and if you outran the cops, but someone in your group was caught they can easily crack under pressure and the promises of leniency. 2) It's actually much easier to get caught in larger establishments because they usually have higher security. Not true, I can guarantee you most of those places put fake equipment in most of the places, and store employees can't do anything anyway. 4) Stay away from places that sell very expensive things (i.e., Best Buy), because they will have higher security as well. It's best to steal from places that have a mix of very cheap items and moderately-expensive items. It's more about what you steal.
