Game Modes

In almost every game you'll probably end up having the option between different game modes. Majority of us should be familiar with Campaign, or Co-Op game modes. While other games have Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, HORSE for non-specific game genres. Games will also offer extremely difficult game modes in addition to unlocking them.

 

 

 

So my question and partial discussion is what is your favourite general game mode, and if possible, from what game?

 

 

 

There is such a large expanse of game modes out there that some game modes wouldn't even work in other games, like between Racing games & Shooter games.

 

 

 

Regardless though one of my most favourite game modes ever had to be in the game S.W.A.T. Co-Op mode was well done, and the AI at that time wasn't too bad, was challenging and was practically different each time you played through it with your friend(s).

 

 

 

So what is your favourite game mode, and why, explain!

 

 

 

*Playing online isn't a game mode, but how you choose to play online is, so don't just say online.

i don't like co-op because usually my friends like to mess around and kill me or want to extra things that waste time

1v1, smash, no items, neutral stages. Nuff' said.

I enjoy capture the flag for most games. Death match and team death match is fun from time to time as well.

 

 

 

One of my favorite game modes is infiltration, and the only game I know of that has it, is Soldat. It's a team game, with one team (Bravo/Blue team) defending a black flag, and the "infiltration" team (Alpha/Red team) attempting to take the flag. The goal for Bravo team is to defend the black flag and prevent it from leaving the safe zone, as they get points every few seconds as long as it's in the safe zone. The Alpha team must breach the defense, take the black flag, and bring it back to their white flag. Alpha team also has to avoid being killed and having the flag taken away.

 

 

 

And when it comes to game difficulty, I start with normal, and every play through afterwards is set on a higher difficulty.

Multiplayer (using a multi-tap) for Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal. :thumbsup:

 

Using the Morph-O-Ray AND using the mine glove to humiliate and maul your enemy, that's fun!

I enjoy a good co-op game because there so much more social and fun. I play co-op on almost any game that offers it. Gears of War being my favorite co-op experience.

Capture the flag mostly, cos I just smoke the flag, capture it, and run off somewhere. That or sit miles away and snipe.

 

 

 

In MGS4 I love the game mode where one player is snake and one is the MGMk.II. That is awesome!

Loved Co-OP Legenday story mode in Halo 3, that was a fun saturday.

 

 

 

Enjoy Campaign, personally think Capture the Flag sucks, so damn boring.

 

 

 

Infection & Virus modes are fun. So is Stock. [Lives]

Ive always like Total Conquest in the Tom Clancy Rainbow Six games.

Always been a fan of CTF in multiplayer games: Tribes 2 especially but also UT, Halo (only played the first one though) and the one in TF2, of course.

 

 

 

I'm also a big fan of co-op modes and therefore looking forward to Diablo 3 quite a bit.

Usually i play Team Deathmatch and Capture The Flag

 

i really like the Attack and Defend game mode but lately most have been pretty bad, back on C.S 1.6 the fort maps i used to play were perfect for these

I like to play capture the flag in most games that have it. (besides rs because castle wars is so unbalanced.)

 

 

 

Although game modes would be like: very easy, Easy, medium, hard, very hard, god( ), titan ( )

 

 

 

You should change your title, it's kinda misleading. Anyway besides capture the flag I enjoy death match from time to time. Something about killing my enemy in one hit and watching them die infront of me is... satisfying. :twisted:

My favorite game mode is the improvised Mine Launch, as played in Battlefield: Bad Company.

 

 

 

 

 

Here's the story behind it: Me and my friend were playing a game, and he dropped an Anti-Tank Mine. I had a random moment, kneeled down, and drove my knife straight through it. I died, of course, but I got launched so freaken high...

 

 

 

So the next time, we plant 10 mines and put a C4 down to detonate it... boom...

For racing games i like races. I HATE time challenges, they are extremely boring.

 

Games like Unreal Tournament i like (UT04 had invasion, but not included in UT2007) ctf/death match and team-death match.

 

I like team-based games, they are fun. But also where you do your own thing. Well, anything except time-challenges!
