I'm curious about how many people actually report nowadays.

 

 

 

For me, I usually don't bother. I think of it this way: Everyone has their bad days and probably will regret saying things they said after they get blackmarks for it. For trivial things like asking where everyone is from... I don't even understand why people report for that. Technically, yes, it is breaking rules, but the chances that that person is a stalker is like 0.01%. More than not, they are usually just trying to have friendly conversation.

 

 

 

Some scenarios are different though... like when someone constantly spews obscenities, or spams a bad URL. I only report people who deserve to lose their account.

As you say, everyone has there bad days, and most of the time a wanna-be mod will report them anyway.

 

 

 

I know i've been reported for asking which country someone lives in, it doesn't make you feel very good :)

I only report someone if they know they are breaking the rules and keep on doing it.

 

I rarely report for Rule 1. Everyone has a slip of the tongue, and you have to admit the chat filter is way too tight. And like those before me have said, sometimes people are just having a bad day. But if someone is cussing at me for say, beating them at Fist of Guthix then I report them without a second thought.

 

Item Scamming was what I reported people for the most for years, but since the December updates I haven't seen one case of item scamming, that rule is obsolete.

It's only breaking Rule 12 if the other person doesn't want to share personal details, and most players who ask that question are new players who just want to make friends, and don't fully know the rules.

I reported a level 74 cooking bot only last night and have always reported bots but never for any other reason.

 

(The level 74 was actually killed eventually by the drunken dwarf which amused all of the smelters in Al Kharid)

I dont report people for minor things such as textbox spamming. But otherwise I report.

Scammers, Autoers, RWT'ers, and f2pers that make accounts just to get a girlfriends or boyfriends such as "SxyChik23"

I report em only if they continue whatever offense they're doing (ie consistently trying to obtain a pw, cybering accounts, item scammers <-- not so common now, people asking for personal information)

Being a player moderator, people usually think that I report all the time. Actually, I can't remember the last time I've reported someone. Haven't really needed to since the trade limits.

I don't report offensive language and bypasses filters. I won't report for asking where I live, I don't mind telling you. I won't report for advertising Tip.It. However, I will report if someone named "JModz K Mart" or something similar tells me to offer up my password. I will also report racial slurs, they have no place in this game.

Nope, almost never. Unless the player is really annoying about something or keep spamming.

 

I was muted for a day the other week by some noob mod just for swearing at some idiot who kept closing a door lol.

I mostly only report the auto talkers those are the only people that annoy me :> offensive just goes under my ignore list and scammers to :D

i report things that annoy me and others around me (otherwise its just ignore list)

I do report if it's needed. Usually it's better to stop it from being disruptive though.
