yes, you read the title right. i made this as a discussion whether or not solo mole is decent money. ill explain why:

 

 

 

you take 2 prayer pot (4) per trip, valued at around 7k each, which translates to about 14k

 

 

 

i take about 22 strange fruit for run (valued at around 900 gp ea) which totals to about 20k.

 

 

 

now, i melee with dds and whip and wear prose legs/body with nezzy helm, chaos gauntlets, d boots, sara cloak, and rune defender. plus ring of wealth.

 

 

 

i can get around 4-5 kills before i need to bank (for more strange fruit), and normally i would have only used 2-3 doses of prayer potion.

 

 

 

you get an average of 3 skins/claws (combined) per kill, plus the drop, and while the drops themselves are rubbish, the claws/skins can be exchanged for nests that give seeds (i myself have gotten 3 ranarr seeds and 1 yew seed total of my 5 solo trips) and then you can crush the nests and get 3k for each of them. every 5 kills translates to 15-20 nests, which is 45-60k. that easily pays for the supplies and then some.

 

 

 

so i say again, is soloing the mole really that bad?

It isn't really that great of money. Good for lower levels, it's O.K. for higher levels. It's more of a "fun" boss than a moneymaker.

Spirit terrorbird mops the floor with strange fruits. if you have 52 summon, the scrolls are only 32 ea, the pouches 320. oo'gloog sal[bleep]er spring is infinite run for a few mins.

Its extremely easy to solo yes but its annoying to have to chase after lol. I could kill 100+ before banking if I didnt have to pick up the claws and skins so it really shouldnt be considered a boss monster.

 

 

 

If I ever reach my goal of 81 herblore ill probably go kill it and stock up on skins and claws to trade in for birds nests though.

OT : Its not great for money, but, it brings something in. And super energies are definitely cheaper than strange fruit. The potion restores more than double a strange fruit, and it costs only a few hundred GP more.

On Topic: Using the infinite run pool at oog'log would be better, it is slightly less efficient but would cut costs. Terrorbirds would also be better due to their ability to hold items and to give you run energy.

Anyway, The mole is decent money per kill, but in my experience not so great money per hour which is what it all comes down to. A fun boss to kill a few times, but the crowding really takes from that. However I have no experience of killing it with a GS, that may change things around a bit I guess.

OT:I like to do mole for fun (did a couple runs today) and made around 50k or so. Not really worth it for money but definitely fun.

Best way to kill mole imo is to Dharok it, with piety and bring terrorbird. When I did this I usually killed it before it dug once.

My simple response to your question: No, it's not really that bad, but there are better things that one could do to make money and/or fight something. Not saying fighting the mole is a waste of time, but if you only want to make money there are easier ways to do it. That being said, I enjoy me some mole soloing every once in a while (especially since it's the only boss I know how to solo :oops:) (or fight at all for that matter) .

Last I checked, the topic isn't to discuss grammar and spelling. And I just read a whole page of it.

 

 

 

Anyways, the mole is pretty decent. But there are faster ways to make money. That is why it is not commonly done.

 

It is 8k-16k per kill gauranteed. But the length of time it takes to kill a mole makes it almost pointless to do it for money. You can, its just that there are quicker ways to not only make more money, but to gain more experience while doing it, too.

It *can* be good money. The problem is finding a world where you won't be annoyed by low level people trying to "help" (making the mole dig with lame attacks and then demanding some of the drops). I rarely bother any more.
