Yep, I really hate the new area me and my family had moved into, it's known for crime at least a few blocks down from where I live, I never thought I'd get mugged a few houses down from my own home. I was walking home last night after I just walked my friend to the bus stop and I guess 2 guys followed me.

 

 

 

They approached me asking to use my phone I told them I didn't have one they said I lied they seen me using one and as I kept walking they cornered me up against a tree and put something to my chest I'm thinking a knife it felt sharp and they emptied my pockets, luckily I only had my phone. They robbed 2 other people 10 minutes after me 1 street down the block and police might have them caught on video so they are gonna have me come in tonight to take a look at it and possibly spot them out.

 

 

 

As for the phone the detective told me to leave it on since I got free nights and weekends so they can mess up and make calls that way he'll be able to trace them and maybe bring people in for questioning. He also gave me a number for robbery victims to call for compensation on some items.

I guess running was not an option?

Man that sucks... You seem to have kinda handled yourself, though. I probably would've shat my pants if that happened to me. :-#

I can't imagine that running would be so productive, to say the least. If they couldn't run faster than you, they could easily track you to your house and trash it later.

I had my phone mugged at 3am on New Years Day 2007, lol. #-o

As coolguy said, you handled yourself very well given the situation. There's a high possibility you'll get it back, no problem.

It amuses me how stupid the majority of people who commit serious crimes are. People who pirate media online are far more cautious than this guy committing an armed robbery. I hope he enjoys his jail time :lol:

If someone threatens you with a knife and you shoot them, YOU go to jail. It's also illegal to carry a concealed weapon. Your idea would be good if we didn't have a legal system in place.

Why would you run to your house? Judging by the picture posted earlier, an average person could easily outrun those two.

I don't know if it's the camera angle or the guy himself... but that dude's lips are MASSIVE! And the fact that he was stupid enough to take a pic of himself... I think he did it to send it to his friends or something to prove he stole a phone, but didn't realize you could check your account online... Now he's screwed. :

I expect if they saw a gun, they'd be much more willing to use that knife. I don't say this often, but that was a very stupid thing to say.
