October 12, 200817 yr I sure as hell hope not, started 20/20 vision before playing nearly 4 years ago, still good vision (haven't had it checked but assume 20 20 still)
October 12, 200817 yr IF it does Tip It is probaly worse, reading the small text can't be good for your eyes. But either way I doubt it'd do much. I have decwent vision, before and after....Actually I still play so before and during.. Doomy edit: I like sheep
October 12, 200817 yr It doesn't matter what game you're playing, it's been proven that looking at a screen for too long does impair your vision. So yes, playing RS for too long would have that effect. Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!Xbox360 Gamertag = Tintin113
October 12, 200817 yr I don't blame runescape for my lack of seeing small letters far way. I blame having a TV 5 feet from my bed that i can't move to a different area. 99 FM Acheived on Friday December 26th 2008Click for my blog|Mass Effect Discussion Thread|Nation Creation/Create your own Country Forums

October 12, 200817 yr My vision is fine. I usually play with sunlight coming in, not playing in the dark. Plus I'm at a good distance away from the computer where I don't need to squint or my face is on the screen. RSN: Zammyftw ^^The girl that ruined music.
October 12, 200817 yr I got my glasses in the first grade, a grand six years before I played Runescape. My optometrist tells me my eyes will steadily worsen until I'm in my thirties. And guess what? I can barely make out facial features and expressions from five feet away as it is... If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?
October 12, 200817 yr I do have glasses and contacts, but I don't blame Runescape for them. I believe I first got them before I started seriously playing RS. After I got them, my vision hasn't gotten that much worse either even though I spend a lot more time on the computer. By now my vision has stabilized, which is great :D. Only thing RS may have affected is a small area at the bottom of my palm. There's a calloused area from where my hand rests when using the mouse. It doesn't bother me at all though.
October 12, 200817 yr playing in a lit room rather than a dark room is good and having a high monitor refresh rate is better (75hz+) and won't make your eyes sore
October 12, 200817 yr Imo yes. I have a -1.75 for my right eye and a -2.00 for my left eye. I <3 mah contacts thought. October 13, 200817 yr Author Yes, My Pes. is a -5 thats why I'm pretty much done with Runescape. damn, It's hard for me to see alot without my contacts with a -1.5... how far can you see without glasses/contacts?? http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/
October 13, 200817 yr A every half hour or hour while you're playing, take a few minutes to go to the nearest window and look at things far away. i do this, it works for me. one day i got off the computer after thrashing a 3000 word assignment in a day and everything was looking pretty blurry (i have never had eye problems before), so i thought well if my eyes are acting funny from looking at a close computer screen maybe i just need to look at faraway things. I play at night in my gf's bed while she sleeps so i just try to look around the far corners of the room every couple of minutes. maybe even just closing your eyes and relaxing regularly would help
October 13, 200817 yr Its probably due to the mix of computer work and Runescape+other online activities that I have seen a recent decrease in my vision. It seems a bit blurry at times, but other than that, I usually can see perfectly well. Yeah, I've found that as well. You see, whenever I walk to school, I am unable to make out street signs properly that I used to be able to; they're just too blurry.
October 13, 200817 yr yep,so does watching porn :o =D> What are you five? I still laughed though... OH S***! He/she/it is back!
October 13, 200817 yr Well my vision has progressively gotten worse over the past ~5 years so I'd have to say probably, yeah. I guess general computer use could be a cause. Like someone said earlier in the topic, though, everything is bad for you these days, lol. Diet soda gives you cancer, so what's a little vision loss?
October 13, 200817 yr yep,so does watching porn :o =D> What are you five? I still laughed though... If anything it makes your vision better ;)
October 13, 200817 yr Yeah, it's been proven because of the bright pixels (like the green in the friends list) and the cyan-blue they use for private messages. If they where to tone it down they'd also be much greener too, by that I mean it would use less resources to run and display for ourselves. October 13, 200817 yr 4 years of Runescape and I'm still 20/20. [bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp
October 13, 200817 yr I used to have great vision but my long distance vision is starting to turn to custard  atleast i'm not blind or else i'd really be angry
October 14, 200817 yr Runescape cannot be blamed for vision problems. If you do anything on the computer, you will blow your vision over time. If runescape makes you stay on longer, thats your own fault; and even still, any computer application would do it, like Tip.it forums, WoW, or even MS Paint; but your not complaining to them. 99 Crafting :: 39,750th || 99 Attack :: 1,775th
October 14, 200817 yr Anything that is related with light rays can affect your vision. Runescape: yes it does, but it's the computer you play Runescape on so it's the computer you should blame. Don't see the discussion value though, sorry.
October 14, 200817 yr -7 vision on both eyes Its kinda a family thing though, all my sisters have it and i barely sit for an hour every day or so
October 14, 200817 yr Opening your eyes and looking at anything can cause bad vision these days. RSN: Zammyftw ^^The girl that ruined music.
