No one's going to fight you if you slap on a PP the moment someone attacks you/you attack someone. It's a waste of time.

Yes. If they dont teleblock you, that is their fault. What is the difference between running away to teleporting? Nothing.

 

 

 

Same appliation applies to running away. If we dont freeze you or hold you, its our fault because we didnt come prepared for every situation.

Using the enviroment to your advantage is also a tactic. No different than using the tactic to "pure" your skills, and no different than using the tactic to "pray".

 

 

 

Lets face it, nobody wants to die, and nobody wants to lose items. And people are going to use every resouce they can to prevent them from doing so (either it be Offence or Defensive).

 

 

 

Notice the majority of people who are complaining about prayer are the pures who use one type of combat and dont hybrid. And it dosent matter how long it took to reach the skill, its how it effects a PvP battle.

 

 

 

Like 3hitu said, not using prayer is like not using barrage with 94 mage in a combat situation. If you wanna go strickly 1v1 melee using just rune, thats fine, all the hands off to you. But when I pull out mage on you, and you dont have Dhide, its your fault for not being prepared, and you deserve the consiquences.

 

 

 

Same application for prayer. If I pull out prayer on you, and you decide to either pray or run, I better be prepared for both situations.

 

 

 

And using prayer only hurts the player who is using a single combat. Its a personal advantage over someone. Isnt that what a pure is supposed to be? A stastical advantage over someone to be able to over power them?

 

 

 

Prayer is just the opposite side. Instead of using a pure to hit harder than an opponent, you are limiting the damage your opponent can do to you.

 

 

 

So how you can say a pure is logical, but prayer is not. Its the same methodology (sp?). Sure it makes you hit less if they are praying, but only if you are hitting with the combat type they are praying against.

 

 

 

If you dont hybrid, its your fault, and our personal advantage. The same type of personal advantage a pure hopes to have over a standard player. The time of single-type pures has long gone, and it is a new age of hybrids and full combat triangle users. If you chose not to adapt, you will be left in the dust.

 

 

 

EDIT: Go and look up videos and stats of great pkers of the past. EVERY SINGLE ONE of them hybrids. EVERY one. If you hybrid, prayer is not an issue, and thus makes your entire argument invalid. Just because you choose to limit yourself to 1 form of attack, then why should we not take this advantage on you and pray?

 

 

 

To put it in terms you might understand: If your pure has a higher str than someone else your level, why should you not take advantage of the higher str level and attack him?

 

 

 

If you disagree that prayer can be used as an advantage against someone who uses 1 type of attack, then you are also saying pures have no advantage over someone else with lower combat stats, and thus that pures would be useless to have. You cant have one of the other, they are both the same concept.

use prayer and take 2 combat styles with you watch yourself own :) bring a freind like the old days for tb work as a team of 2-3 solo is ok but it will lead to teleing all the time. I personaly try to 1v1 other than the applying of the tb from a freind there is no need for us (or ever has been) to tag soemone we are all good enough on our own.

Don't pray, it just drags the fight out, and reduces max hits by like half. Just think if everyone prayed, we could waste more of our time in fights, not making any profit!

 

 

 

Honestly, the reason why prayer is shunned is because it prolongs the inevitable, that one person is going to die. There's no reason to use other than that.

The only time I see praying as acceptable is when someone pulls out an AGS. Use Protect Melee when he specs then turn it off. Is a bit of honor worth eating a cheap-[wagon] 70 KO hit?

I always pray with pro melee the default unless I'm tempted otherwise.

 

When my 99 prayer runs out then I just unequip my armour and die because its not worth fighting if its just a lucky hit contest.

 

Its all about trading blows and using your character to your fullest.

 

Its also fun to humilate those without a prayer or defense.

 

However don't worry, I doubt I will ever be a regular at the new dreg/PVP worlds, so don't cry about my style, since you'll never cross my path unless you goto world 24 CW.

I've never really thought much of other people opinions (because in most cases, their isn't an ounce of intelligence in it), so I pray. I've been called a 'noob', 'loser', etc for using it, but I've never really cared, because in the end, I'm the one who walked away alive.

 

 

 

However, from a different standpoint, some lower level players might be intimidated by certain prayers, and run away, my above argument applies more to duel arena, and FOG, where if you run away, you forfeit the match. In pvp, you can run all you want(but then of course, there is the bind spell).

After a lengthy time of meditation I reached the conclusion that neither will win since it will be even more boring then just a normal armour match.

The prtection prayers are generaly only used in combat it both parties are using them. Most of the time flashing a protect prayer will act as a sheild agaist attacks...until you go multi where I have seen people specificly targeted for piling because they used a protect prayer (besides in multi you could recive attacks from all 3 sides of the triangle...at once. So if you are wandering through single way combat, a protect prayer may help keep you alive if your out of food but still have prayer.

 

 

 

Now the offensive prayers on the otherhand are very useful because they can make your combat level effectively rise a few notches if you activate them all (of course your prayer would dissapear very fast with 3 prayers running like that. Now piety and chivalry (never have seen a symbol above heads for them so I assume there invisible) I immagine would provide that same invisible yet substantial boost without making your prayer dissapear in a matter of seconds.

 

 

 

Prayers are effectively combat potions that cost no money directly and dont gradualy wear off. If you wan't to kill with prayer, no one is really going to know and it makes life oh so easy.
